Mikey was mad.
Everyone at the meeting could see it and the aura he was exuding felt heavy and uncomfortable. No one below the vice-captain rank dared to look up and kept their hands clutched behind their backs, praying that Draken would finish their announcements sooner than later.
It wasn’t like this at the beginning of the meeting. Everything seemed normal to most of the gang members who arrived at the temple. It was only as time went on did the expression on Mikey’s face grow darker and darker.
‘But why? ,’ they thought. It didn’t seem like anyone had pulled a Kiyomasa and acted out of line. Mikey didn’t seem hangry either--a bag of snacks was sitting right next to him. Not only that, their commander should’ve been happy! Toman had expanded their territory and gained more members. Toman’s influence was spreading and Mikey’s desire to create a new era of delinquents was one step closer to fulfillment.
But, for some reason, he was mad.
He was mad and now he was bouncing his leg up and down impatiently. His arms were crossed as he sat on the top of the shrine steps, eyes scanning the crowd with a glare. Some of the captains and vice-captains shifted uncomfortably in their places, looking away from a certain division whose captain was absent.
Draken could feel the temperature around him dropping slowly, but rather than being fearful he just felt exasperated. Part of him wanted to hurry the fuck up and end the meeting, but another sadistic and petty part of him wanted to draw it out. Draken still couldn’t forget how Mikey had nearly outed his feelings to Emma. Now there was a misunderstanding between Emma and Draken, all thanks to her half brother. So yeah, part of him wanted to make this meeting as long as possible so that Mikey could continue to suffer. But he was also a little worried. All of this was thanks to one scrawny, crybaby.
Yes, this was all Hanagaki Takemichi’s fault.
Why, you may ask?
Because Takemichi wasn’t here.
Every captain and vice-captain knew how Mikey felt about the younger--it wasn’t much of a secret with the way Mikey acted around Takemichi. Mikey’s demeanor would change the instant Takemichi was in his sights. His overpowering--and frankly, frightening--aura would instantly disappear in Takemichi’s presence, being replaced with a clingy puppy-like personality. He would hang off of Takemichi, teasing the easily embarrassed kid, enjoying the power he had over Takemichi. In a way, he was a bit of a sadist--but you didn’t hear that from any of the captains or vice-captains. So when Takemichi went on vacation to visit his father overseas for 2 weeks, it was safe to say that Mikey was not very happy.
In that time--that long, long, long time--Mikey was steadily losing his mind. He hadn’t seen his Takemichi in forever and like a heavy smoker going cold turkey, he was beginning to grow absolutely restless. He was in desperate need for his usual hit of serotonin that came in the form of Hanagaki Takemichi.
But much to Draken and the other leaders’ surprise, at the beginning Mikey remained outwardly calm. He didn’t do anything wild or go on any rampages. Instead, he’d just stare at his phone and calendar more often than usual, sometimes zoning out.
So when the date for Takemichi’s comeback was upon them, Mikey could be seen skipping about, a goofy smile glued to his face. He was excited to see the kid again and had specifically called tonight’s meeting just to see Takemichi.
But Takemichi didn’t show.
In fact, the meeting was finally ending after an hour and he was still not here. Mikey was sure that today was the day he would be back. He even texted the boy, saying that if he didn’t show up tonight he’d get “punished(❤)”, to which Takemichi replied that he ‘absolutely would be there!!’
But he wasn’t.
At last, Draken finally wrapped up the meeting. “Make sure to stay on your toes! There have been more sightings of other gangs coming into our territory and jumping members. If you come across them, feel free to teach them a lesson.”
“Yessir!!” Was the immediate response of the crowd, as they so desperately wanted to leave.
Finally with a wave of his hand, the gang members below the vice-captain rank rushed off not wanting to stand any longer in Mikey’s oppressive presence.
As the leaders were also about to turn around, Mikey cleared his throat. They flinched mid-step and turned to look at their commander.
“Why don’t we stay here and hang out for a bit, mm?”
Inwardly, the Toman leaders were screaming to be set free but obeyed Mikey’s ‘suggestion’ without fail. Chifuyu glanced at the 7th division vice-captains who were looking paler than usual. He shook his head a little, pitying the two former Black Dragon members.
Mikey brought his knee up and leaned his elbow against it. He looked down on his captains and vice-captains with a smile that screamed ‘I’m this close to beating someone up~’.
“You two,” he started.
Kokonoi and Inupi flinched, standing up straight.
“Where is Takemitchy~?”
The dark-haired vice-captain chewed on his lips thinking, ‘That’s what we’d like to know too!!’ Instead, Inupi looked up at Mikey and apologized,” I’m sorry but we don’t know, sir.”
“He texted us about 30 minutes prior to the meeting,” Kokonoi added. “Said he’d be here for sure and that he had souvenirs for everyone.” Kokonoi hoped that by saying that, it would lessen Mikey’s rage. Needless to say, it did not.
“If so, then why isn’t he here~?” Mikey asked in a sing-songy tone. “Aren’t you two his vice-captains~? Isn’t it the duty of the vice-captains to support their division’s captain~?”
The two flinched. It would be much easier to deal with Mikey if he just came out angry from the get-go. Instead, he was choosing a slow-burn, building up his anger. That was the worst because he’d start like nothing was wrong and then end the conflict with someone’s head and hair gripped in his hands. It was the worst cuz no one could predict when he’d go from 0-100. It was almost always like that--someone would have to take the hit. Kokonoi and Inupi could feel their invisible tears bursting out from their eyes, for they knew that it was most likely one of them that would eat concrete tonight.
“So tell me~! Why aren’t you two doing your du~ty~? You said that you’d follow Takemitchy to the end, but it looks like that was a half~baked~ promise, hmm~?”
‘Just kill us now, stop dragging this out!!’ The two thought. ‘Dammit Hanagaki!! Of all the days for you not to show!’
Mikey stood up, brushing his pants of dirt. Draken sighed, a headache blooming right behind his left eye. The other captains began to migrate further and further away from the 7th division. They silently gave Kokonoi and Inupi looks of pity, mentally praying for them. As Mikey was about to descend the steps, the group heard shuffling and wheezing coming from behind them. As if God was watching over the two vice-captains, a blonde head was slowly dragging himself up the stairs. Instantly, Mikey’s demeanor changed and he smiled, ready to grab Takemichi and punish(❤) him. But as Takemichi drew closer to the group, they gaped at the mess that limped in.
Takemichi, a little tanner from his trip, was sporting several already blooming bruises on his face, one eye barely open. His nose and lips were bleeding and the blood had dripped down Takemichi’s face and splattered over his crumpled white shirt. He was sporting a limp and there was a bruise in the shape of a hand on his left wrist. His clothes didn’t fare any better with his button-up rumpled and missing the 1st two buttons. His pants were dirty and there was blood on the bottom. The only thing that looked okay and in top condition was a rather large bag of things that the captains could only surmise to be souvenirs.
Before anyone could react, Mitsuya was already pulling out a cloth ready to dab the poor kid’s wounds while the 7th division vice-captains and Chifuyu rushed over already hissing profanities.
“Hanagaki, who the fuck did this--”
“Are you insane?? Why didn’t you just text us and go to the hospital--”
“Takemitchy, here, let’s clean up the blood--”
From the back, a snort came and Kisaki turned around. “If there isn’t anything else, we’re leaving.” Hanma followed with a wave along with Mucho and Sanzu.
Takemichi grinned bashfully, rubbing his neck. “Don’t worry! I gave the guys a lot worse, so this is nothing.” Mitsuya still gently guided the younger boy to the steps to sit.
“They were picking on some kids at the park near here, asking them about Toman,” Takemichi babbled. “I was passing by so I ended up getting into a fight with them. I’m sorry for not letting anyone know and for being late.”
Draken sighed but was glad that Takemichi was okay--at least enough to have dragged himself up all the steps leading to the temple. As the vice-commander turned to Mikey to advocate that the commander take it easy on Takemichi, Mikey was already in front of Takemichi. He had pushed Mitsuya to the side and stared down at the injured kid.
Takemichi shook a little. “S-sorry I was late Mikey-kun… Am I still going to get punished or..?”
Mikey didn’t say a word, but instead continued to stare down at the blonde. His eyes scanned Takemichi’s injuries, staring just a bit longer at the exposed collar bone sticking out from under his shirt. While he was obviously infuriated by the thought of someone having attacked and injured what was his, he was also mesmerized by Takemichi’s presence. Finally, his eyes landed on the blood that was dripping down from his nose. Apparently he had touched it just as it was drying up, restarting the flow of blood down his face.
“M-mikey..kun?”
Mikey’s right arm shot out and gently gripped Takemichi’s chin, forcing his neck to crane upwards to look at his leader.
“Um...Mikey-kun…?”
“Oi Mikey, what the hell are you doing to a patient?” Draken huffed.
Mikey ignored the others and zoned in on Takemichi’s face. His eyes focused particularly on the red liquid that was now dripping down his own hand. Mikey frowned, thinking about how Takemichi’s blood was probably splattered on his attackers. He didn’t like the thought of any trace of Takemichi being on anyone but him .
“Takemitchy.”
The boy sat up straight and stared at Mikey, his blue eyes shaking. Mikey grinned widely.
“It’s time for your punishment(❤).”
“E-eh, but I--”
In one smooth movement, Mikey bent down with his mouth open. He pressed his tongue against Takemichi’s chin and dragged it up the red river that was still dripping. He felt Takemichi shudder under him, but Mikey held Takemichi’s face in place.
“This is your punishment(❤), so stay still,” Mikey whispered, tightening his hold on the poor blonde’s face.
As his tongue reached Takemichi’s nose, Mikey leaned forward even more, slurping at the blood. He traced the tip of Takemichi’s nose and his philtrum, pleased with how they felt under his tongue. Mikey silently praised Takemichi--despite the boy constantly getting beaten to a bloody pulp, his skin always healed perfectly. No scar, bump, or blemish on his face. The liquid was warm on his tongue and now that Mikey was close up, he could smell the coppery essence. The blood that he gulped tasted metallic and bitter. It definitely wasn't sweet like his favorite foods. But there was something primal within him that felt sated by the blood he tasted. He knew that it wasn’t because he liked the taste, but rather it was because it was Takemichi’s that made him almost purr with delight. He wouldn’t mind doing this more often, tasting his blood. In the back of his mind, Mikey preened at the thought of his Takemichi now floating within him. It felt like a ritual that was only possible between the two--a ritual that brought the two together even closer than physical touch. Takemichi’s blood, his Takemichi, would be absorbed into his body. Takemichi was now a part of him. It was kind of romantic and now he could kind of understand the great interest in vampire romance fiction.
He hummed, wishing that this could last a little longer but his thoughts drew back on the delinquents who had hurt Takemichi. He mentally frowned. With a regretfully final swipe of his tongue, he gently kissed Takemichi’s nose and pulled back.
“Kinda gross,” he murmured thoughtfully, licking the corner of his mouth. He brought the hand that held Takemichi’s face up to his mouth and licked the blood that had found its way onto his fingers.
He looked down at the Takemichi who was now dark red from the tips of his ears down to his neck. His blue eyes were staring wide at him, tears already pooling at the corners, and his mouth hung open. Mikey smiled wickedly at the sight.
“Don’t forget Takemitchy~ You’re my bitch for life.”
Mikey leaned down a little and Takemichi yelped, falling backwards. He turned even redder and Mikey smiled--he liked that look. He liked that he, Sano Manjiro, was the only one in Takemichi’s eyes right now. Now he was the only one on Takemichi’s mind too. Everything was his, even Takemichi’s thoughts now belonged to Mikey.
“From your head down to your toes, even down to every single drop of your blood--you’re mine. So don’t let anyone else touch you, okay~?”
The others who had watched in horror stayed silent at Mikey’s bold and possessive declaration. They knew he was obsessed with Takemichi, but quite frankly, they were disgusted that Mikey went so far as to slurp up his blood as well. Out of the crowd, Draken was the first to make a move.
“O-oi--Mikey, what the fuck --”
Mikey turned around and began walking towards the temple exit, a slight spring in his step.
“Awright! Let’s go Ken-chin! I’m feeling much better now.”
Draken groaned and pressed his hand against his left eye. Yeah, that definitely made his headache worse. He turned to the stunned Takemichi and sighed. There was no way to stop Mikey when this kind of stuff happened. It was usually another one of Mikey’s whims that he would give himself up to. It was just unfortunate that their younger member was subjected to a particularly possessive whim. Draken patted his shoulder and followed behind Mikey, asking Mitsuya to take care of Takemichi for them.
Now it was Mitsuya’s turn to groan. He turned to Takemichi and sighed,” Alright kiddo, let’s get you cleaned up a little. You can pass out the souvenirs after...”
