Chapter Text
Most kids at the age of six are thinking about what presents they’re gonna get for their birthday or Christmas. Other kids, more Unfortunate kids, are wondering when their next meal is. But some kids, the ones who have unspoken trauma, are the ones society weeps for. The children who are abused in more ways than one. These innocent souls are damaged at young ages; the pain they go through makes adults give their life to the lord. These specific children are rape victims.
One of these victims goes by the name of Peter Parker. At the age of six Peter met Stephen Westcott In the form of a babysitter his aunt and uncle hired. Like a lot of kids Peter could sense this eeriness that followed skip wherever he went, not unlike a shadow. This greatly concerned Peter as he was afraid Skip might be in trouble or worse he was trouble. But being who he is he didn't tell his guardians the fears he had of the young man and remained silent. It wasn't until three weeks of being sexually assaulted by him did he finally speak up. Where his aunt and uncle quickly called the police and had an investigation launched and skip was put in jail for two other sexual assault charges.
Because of this incident he talked to his aunt and uncle about taking self defense and many types of Japanese fighting styles such as kendo, judo, kyudo, aikido, self defense lessons, and more. His aunt and uncle were skeptical at first but came around to the idea when Peter pointed out the fact that they wouldn't have to worry about him so much. Peter’s aunt looks up classes for Peter to take and when she finds some that are suitable she takes him to meet the instructors. Then they quickly get into a routine where Peter goes to multiple instructors a week after school.
This is where we find 9 year old Peter Parker walking home from one of his lessons with Noaki. Had been getting really good lately even managed to catch her by surprise and pin her down. Peter was really happy about that accomplishment so he decided to treat himself to one of Mr. Delmar's sandwiches which is why he was walking that way instead of home when he heard it.
It sounded like someone was in pain so he walked into one of the alley ways thinking that someone was hurt so he slowly walked into it and saw something that made his blood run cold.
Standing right in the middle of the alleyway were two men towering over a woman who was laying on the floor clutching her stomach. The men standing above her were laughing while another searched her purse and pulled out money.
Peter was horrified to see what was happening; he'd seen things like this happening on the news but not in real life. It wasn't until one of them suggested something so horribly bad that he was shaken out of his horror stricken stance.
“Maybe we should tie her up and have some fun” comes the response from one of the thugs standing behind the now crying and groaning lady.
The one closest to Peter who seems to be the head of their little group quickly agrees with him and starts into action.
Peter doesn't know what to do. On one hand he could help her and risk getting hurt or he could leave and live with the fact that someone had to go through what he did. Having this inner turmoil Peter only decides to help when he hears her cry out for help.
Jumping into action he creeps behind one of the large trash cans and hides there for the time being. Thinking of a plan he quickly sets it into action. He picks up a rock one small enough that only the person he wants to see will see it. Then takes it and throws it at the thug standing behind the frightened lady. He sees it hit his foot but is too late to react before Peter quickly runs up to him and uses a move he saw Noaki use on her boyfriend as a practice dummy to teach the grown ups section. As quickly as he can he slides underneath his legs, stands up and slams his foot into the back of his left knee and uses a fallen leg to step on before wrapping his legs around his shoulders, twisting and flipping him on his back.
The other thugs quickly take notice of their fallen ally and try to subdue him but don't get very far as he springs into action and has each man on their back in minutes. Two of the three men are incanpacitated but the one he first attacked is starting to stir so he sends a quick kick to the back of his head and knocks him unconscious.
Making sure that all of them are not going anywhere he looks to the lady who is staring at him wide eyed and tears flowing down her cheeks.
So he walks over to her, picks up a shard of glass on the floor and cuts the duck tape around her wrists. Looking behind one of the men he apprehended he picks up wallet and money to hand to her. “Do you have a phone on you”. He asks, trying to help her stand up.
“Yeah I do, it's in my back pocket.” she says before grabbing it, calling 911.waiting for the police to get there peter takes his backpack off and starts on his homework. It was sometime before the police got there but when he heard them coming near he put his things back in his backpack and stood up.
“Where are you going?” he turns to her and tells her that “i don't want to get into trouble with my aunt and Uncle” she says “I think you have to stay here so the police can question you.” Peter thinks about this, if stayed he might be questioned as to how he knows how to do what he can. But if he leaves he can also leave behind a lot of drama. But there's another thing if he leaves they might try to find him.
He looks to the lady who's watching him with rapt attention. “I can't stay here, I don't want the police to question me about how I did it.” She looks like she wants to argue but just gives up when he gives her a pleading look.
“Okay but if they ask I'm going to give them a description of you”. She says while going to the end of the alleyway as she can hear the police coming closer.
“It's okay as long as they don't know it was me”. Peter says about to turn the corner but the lady talking calls out to him. “How old are you and what's your name?” Peter looks at her and says that he can't give her his name but he can give her his age. “?I'm 9 years old and as skilled as I am, I'm only nine.” Before she can speak again Peter runs out of the alleyway and down the street just in time as three police cars stop right in front of it.
----------------------------------------------------
Walking into his house Peter is greeted with the sight of his aunt panicking until she sees him and Immediately runs to him crying.
“May are you okay?”. Peter asks upon realizing that she's not gonna let him go. May starts telling him how much she worried about him thinking that he was hurt or in trouble. He quickly reassures her by telling her that he went to Mr. Delmars for a sandwich. She tells him that next time he needs to let her know if he is going somewhere else before coming home. They spend the rest of the time waiting for Ben to get home on the couch watching unsolved mysteries. When he does get home May tells him about the heart attack Peter almost gave her.
When peter goes to school the next day he tells Ned of what he did and absolutely freaks claiming that he was a superhero like iron man and captain America. The rest of Peter’s school life is relatively fine until three days later when he gets home from Ned's and gets a call from him.
Answering it he puts it to his ear expecting to hear him say that he forgot something over his house that he learned something new. What he actually heard was Ned telling him to “Peter hurry up and turn on the news. I could swear this is you staring at me on my tv oh my god my best friend is on the news this is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me.”
Confused as to what he means he turns on the tv and switches to the news channel only to freeze at his face being displayed as a drawing. The news lady goes on to tell the people watching that a little boy helped a lady who was about to be sexually assaulted and left the scene of the crime when they came. Peter is absolutely terrified, his mind running a mile a minute, what if aunt May and uncle Ben find out? What if I get in trouble with the police? What if they send me to juvie for beating them up? What will aunt May and uncle Ben think of me then? Oh my god they're gonna think I'm such a disappointment.
His thoughts are cut off by uncle Ben getting home and coming to sit beside him on the couch. By the time he realizes that Ben has said something he's handing him the phone he dropped
(even though he doesn't remember dropping it) with a concerned look on his face. “What's wrong?” he asked. This is how Peter ends up explaining to his uncle the day he saved the woman from the muggers and rapists. Just as he finishes his explanation, aunt May comes home and he has to explain to her also what happened and how they are now looking for him.
May tells him that they will be going down to that police station and telling them it was him. When Peter asks if they are mad at him they tell him that they are so proud of him and that he was courageous. They all take the train to get to the station and when they get there a man named detective Carisi asks if he can help them. May tells Peter to tell the man what he did so Peter steps forward.
“Um I was the one who helped the woman out in the alleyway”. He tells the man who has crouched to Peter's level when he noticed that Peter seemed scared to tell him.
The man looked surprised at first before bringing them over to what Peter presumed was his desk and told them that he was going to get his captain. While waiting peter looks over at the board they have in the corner and looks at the case displayed it was about a lady who went missing peter looks at the facts and quickly decides that the woman must be dead he starts sniffling and may thinks he's scared so she tries to reassure him but that's not what what he's crying for.
So she asks and he tells her “the woman on the case is dead” May looks Bewildered. “How do you know that peter?”
“Well there's a piece of evidence in there where he says that they used to go to a secluded part of the beach he loved to visit when he was younger before she disappeared and that he loved the way she cried when he would take her there. So I guess that she was mostly abused there as there won't be people to report the abuse. But I also think he told them he was at work which he could have easily had one of his friends vouch for him because there are no cameras where he works. Also her friends said that she was way happier when she started to date him but was also good at hiding her emotions. Meaning that she was most likely in an abusive relationship and was trying to alert her friends that she was not okay. They also said that she seemed kind of down the day she disappeared, which means she knew she wasn't coming home when she died. The next piece of evidence that proves it was him will be the fact that his hands were clean and had very little traces of salt on them.”
By the time Peter was finished the whole squad's attention was on him including Olivia. She was stunned how did he figure it out so fast. she looked back to the board slowly piecing together the information he put together and came up with the same conclusion.
This was how Peter Parker became a permanent fixture in the NYPD’s special victim’s unit. He would go there at least three times a week trying to solve the cases he was allowed. He got to know the rest of the squad pretty well and they got to know him. The first person he told when he started getting bullied was Olivia, Tutuola was the first person he told when noaki started teaching him grown up classes and recommended him to a more personal martial artist when he out-skilled her at 11. He met rollins’ kids and she taught him how to change a diaper. Olivia was the first person to know when his uncle died and two years later the only person( besides Ned of course) who knew he was spiderman.
A lot happened after that tony stark showed up at his house he was offered the chance to help him fight the rogue avengers. Which he technically couldn't say no to. Got to go to Germany to meet some heroes, Ned found out he was spiderman, he found out about the vulture and tried to find out more about him. Cut the faire in half, got the suit taken away, and found out that his prom dates dad was the vulture. The vulture found out who he was and threatened his life with a gun. He was tricked by mr. toomes where he had a spiderman realization and was able to lift a building off his back. Crashing Tony Stark's plane into the beach and defeating adrian. He was offered a position as an avenger and declined the position. Aunt May found and forced Mr Stark to make him his intern. He bonded with tony and Pepper and started to think of him like a father, accidentally called him dad, had a conversation about how he thinks of me like a son and boy was that an emotional day.
------------------------------------------------
Lately dad( yes dad i started calling him that after he told me that he wouldn't respond to anything else anymore. I also call Pepper mom.)has been more and more stressed. I tried asking him what was wrong but he just waved me off and said that he was fine. I know when he's lying but I didn't want to push it so I did everything I could to make him feel better and distressed. It worked a little but he was still visibly tense.
This brings me to today. He looked really pale yesterday and I want to make sure he's okay today. “Hey man you okay?”. Comes the concerned voice of Ned beside me. “Yeah I'm just worried about mr stark.”
“I’m sure he’s fine, don't worry about it.” I nod my head okay and continue on with the rest of my day until it's time to go home. Getting in the back of Happy's black 2020 Lincoln navigator. “Hi, Happy” I said to him tiredly. He looks at me through the rear view mirror and he looks really concerned but I smile at him and he reluctantly looks back up ahead. That didn't stop him from looking back at me every couple of minutes though.
Pulling into the underground parking I grab my things and walk to the private elevator after saying goodbye to Happy. Walking into the elevator i slide to the side and just lay there. “Hey F.R.I.D.A.Y. Can you take me to the common room area? I think I can feel a sensory overload happening.”
“Of course baby stark.” She brings him to the common room floor and opens the door for him
Chapter Text
Ever since the fallout between team Iron man and team Captain America, both confronting sides attempted to avoid each other. Although they were fugitives, the Rogue Avengers still went on missions –the most discreet ones at least. This, of course, did not go unnoticed by Tony. After much deliberation with Pepper, Happy, and even himself, he decided he should help them.
Tony had to do a lot of work to get the Sokovia accords amended. Many fights with Ross for hours on end and fixing little insignificant things. It all came to an end when Tony found incriminating evidence on Ross. The man was immediately fired and put into jail. Now free of the man, Tony worked hard to finally fix the accords so the Rogues could come back.
There was one thing Tony didn't account for, though, when he finally fixed the Sokovia accords. The board told him that they had to stay in the Avengers' tower. This would have been fine if it wasn't for the fact that Peter –the little sunshine that he was– comes to the tower almost every day. His son comes to the tower that used to house the avengers.
All he could think was that they couldn't find out about him. Tony would do anything he could before they found out he exists. He was too occupied keeping them from finding out that Peter is his son, he forgot to tell Peter. He knows that Peter sees that he's stressed, but he just doesn't want Peter to find out the real reason for his tense shoulders and jumpiness lately.
Besides, he still has two weeks before they show up.
---------------------------------------------
Peter steps out of the elevator into the common room. Deciding to bypass the option of sleep, he goes into the kitchen for some much-needed ice cream. Walking to the fridge, Peter serves himself some and sits on the couch in front of the tv. Eventually, he does manage to calm down enough to fall asleep after putting the ice cream on the table. Slowly drifting off to sleep, Peter closes his eyes and rests. After what seemed like a very long day.
Forty-five minutes into his sleep, Peter can hear people talking around him, but it kinda sounds far away. Maybe in the elevator. He moves around, trying to silence the voices. Miraculously, the voices quiet a bit, and he can fall back to sleep.
Walking out of the elevator, Steve and his team expect to see a place that looks desolate. Imagine their surprise when they see they were wrong. From the outside, the building looks just like before, but when they stepped inside, it seems like someone who has a child lives there. There are legos on the floor, textbooks on the table, a backpack on the chair near the couches, and –to the surprise of everyone– pictures of Tony with a kid hung on the walls.
“I'm not the only one seeing this, am I?" Clint asks, looking around and finding more legos on the kitchen counter. He walks back over to the living room and stops there as his eyes land on what looks to be a child sleeping on the couch.
“Umm…. I think I found the child in the pictures.” Clint calls out to them when Peter shifts a little. Seconds later, all of the rogues are standing behind the couch staring at the peacefully sleeping child.
“If possible, please, do not, under any circumstances, wake him up,” Comes the voice of F.R.I.D.A.Y., who manages to scare the living crap out of all of them (except for Natasha, I don't think anything scares her.).
“F.R.I.D.A.Y. Who is this?” is the suspicious reply from Steve. He steps closer to Peter but stops when F.R.I.D.A.Y. Speaks up. “I advise not getting closer to him as it could alert him of our presence and will backfire for you.”
She tried to warn them, but Peter –with his enhanced hearing– heard her and quickly woke up. When he did, it was all in a blur until they saw Steve pinned down on his back with the kid straddling his thighs and his hands pinned above his head.
The Rogues are immediately alarmed and get into battle positions with their weapons raised. When Peter sees who's got pinned underneath him, he immediately jumps off him. He lands on the table in front of the couch he was sleeping on a few seconds ago.
Having been woken up as he had, Peter can feel his sensory overload coming in full throttle. He clutches the sides of his head, groaning in pain from the amount of input from the world he is receiving. He can hear the old lady cooking five blocks away. The robber attempted to steal money from an ATM from down the street. What he can hear the most –and what hurts the most– are the rapid heartbeats of the people standing in front of him.
As soon as Natasha saw Peter covering his ears, something clicked into place, she realized who he was. She put her weapons away while slowly walking up to him.
“What are you doing?” Wanda asks from the back, causing Peter to flinch. They watch as the boy falls to the ground and joins his hands around his legs to make himself smaller.
Turning around, Natasha places her finger to her lips, silently telling them to be quiet. When she turns back around, she meets with the sight of the boy now rocking back and forth in distress. Quickly, Natasha grabs –what she assumes are– noise-canceling headphones off the back of the couch. Gently, she pushes Peter's hands off his ears with the headphones. As soon as the headphones are on his ears, his shoulders sag in relief, and he stops rocking. When she sees this, she backs away to give him some space. It is then that the elevator opens, and out walks a frantic-looking Tony.
When Tony comes near the gathering of Avengers and sees Peter in the middle, he rushes over to him and kneels in front of the table. He puts his hands on Peter's neck –knowing that it calms him down, especially when he does it. They sit there, in silence, until Peter slowly comes back to himself.
The other Avengers have never seen Tony like this before. He looks strangely parental, and none of them can say it looks wrong on him. It's like they're watching some other form of Tony, where he is gentle and caring. When the kid has calmed down, he opens his eyes –which they now just realized had tears streaming down them– and looks around. When his eyes land on the Rogue Avengers, they promptly widen as far as they could go before standing up and staring.
“Dad? What are they doing here?” Peter asks, looking at his father –who had stood up and put a hand on his back. Tony looks back at them. He raises an eyebrow, a clear sign for them to speak their reason for being there.
Steve walks forward a bit but stops when Tony and Peter flinch back. “We were on a mission in New York. We thought since it was closer to come here –since we were coming here in two weeks anyway– that we could just come here and rest up. We weren't expecting anyone to be here”. He admits and takes a couple of steps back, wanting to give them some room –an action that doesn't go unnoticed by either Peter or Tony.
Natasha decides that she wants to know who Tony's son is and asks him. Tony looks at Peter. The youngster looks unsure but nods in the end. Tony searches his face for a few seconds before turning back to the Rogue Avengers in front of him. “This is my son Peter, he is not biologically mine, just so you know, but I do share joint custody with his aunt.” Tony steps in front of Peter as he talks and when he finishes. Peter suddenly has an angry expression on his face.
Before Tony can stop him, Peter walks forward and flips over the couch. It lands in front of Steve, and the next thing he knows, his face is in pain, and he's falling on his butt.
Peter walks up to him and stands in between his legs. “I hope you know that won't forgive even if dad does. I won't. You better make it up to him because you have a lot of apologizing to do.” Peter gives him one last glare before walking around the couch. He hugs Tony the moment he is close enough and then walks past Steve until he stands in front of Natasha.
“I want to thank you for giving me the headphones when I had the sensory overload. You didn't have to, but you did, and I appreciate that. You are the one person I can accept living here. I hope we can get along in the future... Also, you're my second favorite Avenger.”
When Peter is done, he quickly walks past her and into his room. He flops onto the bed and falls asleep, too tired to deal with his emotions right now..
With Peter gone, all attention is on Steve –who sits on the floor cradling his jaw. Steve stands up and looks at Tony.
“I'm sorry, Tony. I know it doesn't make up for what I did, but I hope that we can rebuild our relationship.” Steve finishes while having an apologetic look on his face.
Tony stares at all the Rogue Avengers, his friends –along with Bucky– and concludes that although they might have hurt him, he was also petty.
“I'm also sorry. I know we have our differences, but I wish we could go back to the way we were before. I simply wish you can give me some time to be comfortable around you all.” Tony ends and walks over to Steve and puts his hand up.
Steve shakes his hand, and they share a look that only they can decipher before he walks out of the common room and to the direction of Peter's room.
When he's out of hearing distance, Clint bursts into laughter. All of them look at him with confusion. “Did you see how fast the kid punched Steve? He must have been really angry.”
Now that they thought about it, how did he manage to punch Steve? He was a super-soldier, and Peter –a kid– knocked him on his behind without breaking his hand. When it clicked for Sam who it was, he let out a noise of indignation.
“I was beaten by a twelve-year-old?!!!” He screeches while Clint and Scott laugh up a storm and Bucky and Steve turn pale.
Natasha looks at her team and lets out a small smile. Maybe things won't be so bad after all.
