Chapter Text
Chloe had felt it for days but chose to put it off, too scared to face the reality of what she was feeling. Although it was becoming quite consistent as she leaned over the toilet for the second time that morning. She decided she would go and buy some tests on her way to work this morning.
After showering and getting dressed in her usual attire she stopped as she heard whistling from downstairs and the faint sound of a british man singing. She made her way downstairs and sat on the last stair smiling, trying to hold in a snort as she watched a billion year old child dance around her kitchen perfectly moving plates and cups. When she couldn't contain herself any longer Chloe let out a small giggle and Lucifer stopped abruptly looking slightly embarrassed. "Well good morning Detective, it's comforting to know you enjoy me prancing around your kitchen." He was dressed in the usual three piece and Chloe smiled at the way it hugged his physique, choosing not to think about the fact that it no doubt cost the same as her house.
"Hello Lucifer, it's lovely to see you this early but how exactly did you get in?" "Oh don't worry darling I made a copy of your key years ago" "Oh right" Chloe responded not really sure weather she should be questioning that or not. "But I did make a little brekky for you and the child as I am a thoughtful devil - and obviously my culinary skills are impeccable" Chloe rolled her eyes but still grinned as she walked over to Lucifer and gave him a small kiss to say thankyou. "So making breakfast goes down well - definitely noted" Lucifer purred . Chloe gave him a small push in the chest and he laughed as she sat down at the table. As she did Trixie came running out of her room and beamed when she saw her familiar tall man in the kitchen. "Lucifer!!!!" she screamed hugging his leg tightly she he stood awkwardly and patted her head. "Yes hello small human, are you always going to wake up this early and have that ridiculous amount of energy?" Lucifer asked. "Always always always!" Trixie chanted back at him whilst bouncing up and down. "Oh isn't that just fantastic!" Lucifer replied without a hint of sarcasm. Trixie ran to sit next to her mum as Chloe just drifted off into her own world, staring at the man she might be having Satan's child with. And she couldn't truly decide weather she was more excited or terrified.
But she quickly snapped out of it as she had to control the child next to her - and Trixie. She watched her boyfriend, the devil, crouch at the other end of the table trying to catch the bits of omelette that her daughter was throwing at him in his mouth. She should be irritated about the mess but couldn't help but smile at the bond between the devil and her child.
After cleaning up all the mess Chloe called to Trixie to hurry up as she was going to be late for school. Lucifer offered to drive there to school on their way to the precinct . Chloe didn't have time to think of anything else so they all jumped into the convertible and Lucifer put his foot down. Chloe realised she didn't have a chance to buy the tests that morning but promised she would after work.
So on their way back from work Chloe asked to make a pit stop at the grocery shop. "You don't have to come in Lucifer, I'm only grabbing a few things and I'm sure it's very boring" Chloe said in an uninterested tone. But Lucifer was way too annoying and figgety to stay put. "And miss out on buying my favourite gummies Detective? I don't think so" he replied astonished. Chloe forced a smile as Lucifer rambled next to her about his love for gummies.
Chloe managed to sneak away and grab the tests as Lucifer struggled to actually decide his favourite flavour and made a big deal of buying every flavour so he could find out which one he liked the most. Chloe seriously wondered why she stuck around this man sometimes.
Lucifer dropped Chloe at home before returning to LUX to take care of something. Once in the bathroom Chloe closed her eyes and breathed deeply at the realisation of the inevitable. Did she really have to look at the stick to know? She was having the devils child, the antichrist you could say. She sat motionless on the bathroom floor, tears escaping with a mixture of joy and terror. How was she supposed to tell him? He always says he detests children so what is he doesn't want this? But she still managed a smile at the sound of his stupid accent rambling on about kids with so much passion that you'd think he does actually care for them. It also brought catharsis in the fact that his dislike only comes from never interacting with children as there isn't any in hell.
Chloe wanted their relationship to be honest so she decided she would go and tell Lucifer tomorrow. Secretly hoping time moved incredibly slowly so she could build the confidence.
