Chapter Text
From the corner of his eye, Harry saw Sirius and Bellatrix dueling. Sirius taunted Bellatrix and in return, she responded with a quick array of spells. It seemed like everything would be fine until a flash of red light hit Sirius’ chest.
Harry felt his heart drop. Harry watched as Sirius fell towards the veil, time seemed to slow down. In a state of panic, Harry ran towards the veil, but when he got there Sirius had was already halfway through.
He could hear others shouting at him to back away from the veil but he knew if he just tried maybe he could pull out Sirius he just had to try before it was too late. He reached into the veil, reaching out of Sirius before he felt himself getting sucked in.
--
For a long time, all Harry felt was nothing. A cold meaningless vacuum. He didn't know how long it had been since he had fallen through the veil.
He didn’t even know if it was possible to get out of here. He couldn't feel anything but cold, his fingers and feet were starting to go numb from the impossible cold that was orbiting him. The grief of potentially losing Sirius forever still burning deep in his stomach, along with the creeping dread of realizing that he might not be able to return.
He closed his eyes, hoping for the best.
--
Harry groaned, his head throbbing in pain. He felt as if his head had been slammed ruthlessly against a wall. Faint murmurs were lingering around him. Harry tried to sit up his joints aching painfully. but before he could properly sit up he was paused back down, his head hitting the floor with a smack.
His eyelids fluttered open and Harry Potter came face to face with Tom Riddle.
