Prank War

Work Text:

Hallis looked down at the mask in his hands, tilting it back and forth as he inspected it. “He is going to  absolutely murder me. Well, if he could.” He grinned as he hopped up to go to his vanity, holding the mask up to his face to see what it looked like. He couldn’t help but start laughing. Goto was absolutely going to be pissed off at him for this. But he had left his notorious prankster of a charge alone for too long. That’s how Hallis ended up bedazzling Goto’s mask with as many sparkly gems he could. The mask was still wearable. It wasn’t heavy or anything. Hallis put it fully on and started laughing again as he pulled it back off, carefully folding it up neatly so he could go place it back in Goto’s room while the other was still away.

Quietly going to his door, Hallis cracked it open to see if anyone was around before he slipped out and did the same thing to Goto’s door to check if the other was in his room. Luckily, it was clear. Slipping into the room, Hallis was quick to put the mask back where he found it before bolting out of the room and back into his own. He was just getting comfortable back on his bed when a knock sounded on his door. “Yeah?” He called out, hiding his face behind his phone as the door opened slowly. “Hey, Goto. How was the meeting?”

“Full of useful information regarding stuff that doesn’t concern me.” Goto replied, shutting the door behind him before he stopped and stared at the other. “What did you do?”

“What do you mean?” Hallis asked, smiling easily at him.

Goto’s eyes narrowed suspiciously at Hallis and he started to open the door back up. “You’ve done something.” Was all he said before he slipped out of the room, the door shutting behind him firmly.

Hallis bit his lip and just waited, knowing Goto would be back soon enough. He started to count and by the time he hit 8, he heard the other start swearing up a storm from the room next over. Busting out into a fit of giggles, he grabbed a pillow and put it in front of his face just in time for his door to fly open and the mask come flying at him at a far faster velocity than a mask should ever go. The door slamming shut only made him laugh harder.

That was honestly what started the small prank war between them. It was an odd thing for a bodyguard and a charge to engage in but it was a Thing between them now and everyone knew not to get involved. Goto had his mask bedazzled and shoes painted with a black glitter. Hallis had been woken up at 2am and was rushed to get ready for the day only to have Goto have him go back to bed fully clothed immediately after. Then the “accidental” coffee drink swap had happened and Hallis was quick to never ask Goto to get their order ever again.

Now, Goto was standing in his room and staring down at his bed. His bedding had been changed. Normally that wouldn’t be an issue. Except it was now all print pink and a new, extremely fluffy looking, throw pillow had been added on top. If it wasn’t for the fact he knew that Hallis had gone shopping earlier with his mother, he would be sincerely concerned for whomever had done this. But he knew . Oh he knew who did this. Storming out of his room and straight for Hallis’, he waltzed right into the other’s bedroom and ignored the other’s questioning as he grabbed a pillow and promptly started smacking Hallis with it.

Hallis, immediately bursting into laughter, was quick to recover and squirmed away, grabbing a pillow of his own to retaliate.

“You are literally the worst person I’ve ever had to protect in my life.” Goto said between hits, accepting the attacks Hallis was giving right back.

“You say that and yet you didn’t take the bed apart!” Hallis laughed, letting out a squeal when Goto yanked the pillow out of his hand to instead grab at him and throw him down onto the bed. There was another peel of laughter from Hallis who was brushing the hair from his face to look up at Goto with a grin. “Whaddya think? Like the new pillow?”

“It’s all awful and that shade of pink is horrendous. Your mother is a fashion designer and yet you couldn’t put together a nice theme.” Goto quipped, letting out an amused huff through his nose at the offended gasp Hallis let out. “I’m just being honest.”

Pushing himself up, Hallis pouted but his lips were wobbling as he tried to hold back his grin. “You didn’t say anything about the pillow.” He pointed out, laughing again as a pillow went flying into his face.

“The worst. ” Goto sighed, catching the other’s foot as it lashed out towards him and tugged on him. “Blues would have been better.”

“Noted!” Hallis giggled, letting himself be dragged down the bed by his ankle. “But the pillow.”

Goto let out a drawn out sigh. “It’s...not that bad.:” He admitted, groaning when Hallis let out a cheer.
