Work Text:
It was just past midnight when they managed to sneak away for a reprieve. Draco still had some cake smeared over his face which worked as a perfect excuse to leave for a bit, and Harry was so obviously over the line of tipsy that everyone believed some fresh air would benefit him.
Draco locked the bathroom door behind them just as Harry pulled him close enough to kiss. One would be surprised how little time there is to kiss your spouse at your own wedding, so Draco relished in the opportunity, kissing his husband slow and deep, his arms wrapping around his waist pulling him closer despite the wrinkles they were undoubtedly creating in their robes.
They kissed for an entirely too short a time when Draco’s brain remembered that they do indeed still have guests to get back to. Judging by the tightness of his pants, this was his last chance to stop this from going further and since Harry’s rational thinking was severely impaired at the moment, he was the one destined to be the spoilsport.
Harry pushed into him once more and opened his mouth to deepen the kiss but fortunately, Draco had the advantage of being the one not currently pinned to the wall so pulling away was easy. They locked eyes and Draco couldn’t resist another quick kiss, but the burst of sweetness at the corner of Harry’s mouth distracted him. A glance told him it was some of the frostings that’d transferred from his own cheek, but it was nothing a quick lick couldn’t fix.
Harry laughed once Draco pulled away. “That’s disgusting.”
Draco raised an eyebrow in response which only made Harry laugh louder. “Don’t act like a prude, Potter, I of all people know how much you enjoy my tongue.”
“Um, first of all,” Harry poked a finger into Draco’s chest, “it’s Potter-Malfoy now, actually. And second of all, do not lick me if you do not wish to be licked. I’m not the one with a face full of cake still on them.”
“It’s not that bad,” Draco replied but doubt was sown in his mind and he walked to the large mirror to their left.
“It is that bad,” Harry snorted. “It’s all dried up and crusty and all the soft bits smeared off when we made out.”
Draco leaned closer to the mirror since the thin white layer of frosting was kind of hard to see on his skin in such dim lighting. “It kinda itches when I move my face.”
“Yeah, I bet,” Harry chuckled again when Draco caught his eyes in the reflection. He grabbed a bunch of paper towels from the roll on the counter of the sink and ran some water over them. “Come here, I’ll help you get it off.”
“We do have magic, you know,” Draco reminded him but did still step closer to his husband and leaned forward so Harry could see better.
“I know, but I want to do this for you.” Harry’s touch was gentle as he held his head and rubbed the dried frosting off his cheek. “It’s more intimate. And I love being intimate with you. You know, without it being about sex and all.”
Draco sighed and shook his head in fondness only to be swatted on the back of the head.
“Don’t move. I can’t wipe it off if you move.” Harry’s pout was absolutely adorable, in Draco’s humble (and completely valid) opinion. He stopped moving.
“You’re a sap,” Draco told him once Harry vanished the paper towels.
“Yeah, but you married this sap, so you’re stuck with me.” Harry ended his statement with a firm kiss on Draco’s lips which required no effort to lean into. In reality, no kiss of Harry’s ever required any effort at all. Draco would happily kiss him for the rest of his life. He was so glad he got to marry him.
Harry sighed when they separated, some blissful minutes later when Draco was sure enough time has passed that everyone would assume that they’d run away prematurely. The soft look in Harry’s eyes bore into him and he was on the verge of blushing just from the blatant display of Harry’s love for him.
“What is it?” he asked softly, careful not to break the peace of their embrace.
“Nothing. I’m just so happy,” Harry shrugged.
“And a bit tipsy too.”
“Excuse me, my tipsiness has nothing to do with my happiness!” Harry’s eyes were wide in mock-offence and Draco laughed at the expression.
“I know that, don’t worry. I love you”, he whispered, pressing two kisses to Harry’s cheek, and then pulling him into a tight hug.
“I love you too. I’m so happy we got married.”
“Me too. I hope every day of the rest of our lives is as happy as today.”
“Yeah, but I also hope I get to kiss you more.” Harry kissed Draco’s neck to prove his point.
“You can kiss me whenever you like.”
“How about now?”
“What about the guests?”
“They already think we went off for a quicky; we can stay for a little while more.” Harry pulled away just enough to see how Draco was feeling and seeing his eyes inevitably return to his lips made him grin.
“I could go for a make-out session,” Draco shrugged nonchalantly as if he didn’t just make them sound like they were sixteen and sixty at the same time.
“I’m glad you could,” Harry nodded, trying to suppress his laugh by kissing his husband and letting all other thoughts drift away, meaningless.
