HC: Xinyan teaches Barbara swear words
It was an ordinary day in the Cathedral, the birds were chirping, it was a lovely warm day, and there was a gentle breeze in the air. Barbara was helping the Sisters sweep the Cathedral floor, as many people had surprisingly dirty boots. Humming one of Xinyan’s popular songs, [insert aggressive song title here -3-] Barbara was polishing the beautiful stained glass windows that streamed coloured light through the church, managing to get to the very top of them thanks to Venti’s wind currents. It was all going good until suddenly Venti lost concentration and the wind current quickly dissipated, causing Barbara to fall. Luckily she managed to activate her wind glider fast enough to avoid a serious fall. As soon as she landed gently on the floor, she turned to Venti with a dark glint in her eye,
”Venti, what the fuck?? You could’ve killed me!”
Everyone inside the cathedral gasped, when did Barbara learn swear words? Venti looked quite shaken, it was almost unheard of Barbara to snap like this, supposedly the last person she’d snapped at was a porter over in Liyue after she saw him dump all her precious spellbooks into the water. Very few people had actually seen this, so the fact she had sworn, let alone yelled a swear word at someone brought shock to all the churchgoers and they all thought the exact same thing. Xinyan. You see, a few months ago Barbara had gotten to go with the traveller over to Liyue as they wanted to meet the geo archon, Morax.
While she was there she had plenty of time to explore Liyue Harbour, and she found herself in the midst of one of Xinyan, the resident pop idol in Liyue’s concerts. She had fallen in love with Xinyan’s passionate style of music, which was very reflective of her pyro vision. Xinyan had seen Barbara in the crowd, and after the show hurried over to ask Barbara if she wanted to hang out, because ‘Liyue’s the most rock-and-roll place there is!’ in her words. Barbara eagerly accepted Xinyan’s offer, eager to explore the Harbour, and spend time with Xinyan, who was really so pretty who was just someone she wanted to become friends with.
On one of their hangouts (which were kinda like dates ngl) Xinyan took Barbara to Luhua Pools, before timidly handing her a glaze lily and shouting out “Go out with me?!”. Xinyan then mumbled an apology and turned away, about to run, when Barbara grabbed her wrist before placing a kiss on Xinyan’s cheek,
“Sure Xinyan!”
Barbara’s gentle smile immediately lifted the rockstar’s spirits, and ever since then they had been dating! Fortunately both of them knew how to use teleport waypoints so they often spent lunch together, or surprise visits to eachother’s work. They even had joint concerts sometimes! Anyways the point is, if Barbara knew swear words chances are Xinyan was the source.
At that moment, Xinyan burst through the church doors, before making her way over to Barbara who eagerly hugged Xinyan when she ran over to her and Venti, before looking at all the shocked faces,
”Darlin’ why are people staring at us? Do I really look so scary even adults are afraid of me?”
Barbara giggled, “No silly, don’t worry! A mouse slipped in just before you came, but it’s all good now, people are still in shock but come on, I wanted to show you Wolvendom, it’s a lovely picnic spot!”
Xinyan seemed satisfied with Barbara’s answer and followed her out of the church, waving goodbye to the Sisters and Venti before following Barbara to Wolvendom where they had a lovely picnic.
