The Warmth of Love

Summary:

'Ranboo was pulled out of the water with some assistance from Tubbo and the crew on the main boat. Everything in him felt like it was shaking, trying to get some warmth back into his body. Tubbo pulled him in close and wrapped a towel around him but it didn’t seem to help much. Tubbo was warm and Ranboo curled into him like a cat does when it finds a source of heat. Work Text:

Ranboo was pulled out of the water with some assistance from Tubbo and the crew on the main boat. Everything in him felt like it was shaking, trying to get some warmth back into his body. Tubbo pulled him in close and wrapped a towel around him but it didn’t seem to help much. Tubbo was warm and Ranboo curled into him like a cat does when it finds a source of heat. The boat reached shore quickly, or did it? Ranboo couldn’t be sure, all he could focus on was the small bit of warmth that Tubbo was producing.

They quickly said goodbye to Tommy as he was heading somewhere else first before he came back to their house. Ranboo was bundled into a car to head back home. He heard someone say to put the heat on in the car but Ranboo was completely zoned out. He had no clue what was happening, his only connection to the outside world right then was Tubbo. He had pressed up against Tubbo, trying to suck as much warmth as possible out of him. Nothing else seemed to warm him up. He just wanted to stop shivering.

The two of them had finally made it home. Ranboo almost ran inside to try and get into the warmth. Tubbo directed him on the sofa and started to pile blankets on top of him, with a worried look on his face. Ranboo wanted to get that look to go but nothing seemed to warm him up.

“I’m gonna get you some hot chocolate.” Tubbo sounded a little frantic. “Something has to work.”

Ranboo watched him go into the kitchen from his pile of blankets, still shivering. Warmth seemed like something far from his reach. He waited for Tubbo to return, watching the door for him.

“Okay, I have the hot chocolate,” Tubbo said as he walked into the room, “Now drink this, you fuck. You need to warm up.”

“I’m trying, my love,” Ranboo said quietly while lifting one side of his blanket to let Tubbo join him underneath the pile. Tubbo slid in next to him pressing the mug into his hands. He slowly took a sip, feeling the warmth try to spread around his body but the cold seemed to stop it in his tracks. He finished the drink and put it to one side, he pushed himself against Tubbo. He rested his head on Tubbo’s shoulder, feeling Tubbo’s arm move to rest on his shoulders. He wasn’t quite warm yet, the cold still clinging onto him but with Tubbo’s steady breathing and the weight of the blankets, Ranboo felt himself drift off to sleep.

When Tommy finally arrived at Tubbo’s house it was quite late as he had been kept away doing other things. He opened the door slowly as he knew that the other two would likely be sleeping. He crept through the kitchen and slowly opened the door to the lounge, hoping he wouldn’t wake the others. As he walked into the room, he almost turned the light on before he realised that Ranboo and Tubbo were sleeping on the sofa. They both looked at peace, no stress showing on their faces. He slowly walked into the room to wake them up so they could move to their bed.

“Ranboo, Tubbo, you need to wake up,” he said while shaking them slightly. Their eyes slowly opened, blinking in confusion. “Come on, you need to sleep in your bed, you are currently in mine, you shits.”

He watched them head up to the ladder to their room. He was happy that his best friend had found someone that made him happy. Someone that supported him through everything. He couldn’t think of anyone better for Tubbo.
