Front Row Seat to the Hot Shot

Summary:

Fender Bender Meet Cute for Chenford Bingo

Work Text:

Her baby stalls. No big deal she's close to the precinct anyway. But when she's pushing her car over to the side of the road to not be an inconvenience...

People can be rude when they're stressed.

It's the quick reflexes of the truck in the lane over from the stressed LA commuter that saves the driver's head. Especially since he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

But now, here Lucy is: connected to the car that's connected to the truck blocking 2 lanes in rush hour LA traffic.

There is a rapid-fire romance language that isn't quite Spanish, not on the nose for Italian coming out of the passenger window from what is either the guy's Wife/Girlfriend or an extremely fancy prostitute. The guy is bleeding a little, but not a worrying amount by any means.

It's the truck driver that really looks pissed. And he's hot, she wonders how hot he looks when he's showing off what must be dimples if the smile and frown lines he already has are anything to go by.

"What the hell were you THINKING?! You must not have been for how stupid that just was!"

When he gets a garbled mixture from the two in the middle car, He just starts pointing his phone real quick at all the damage and then directing the cause of the pile-up on how to disentangle from his truck and Lucy's baby.

Even if she has to stop him from pushing the BMW's paint against her own.

"Just because I'm going to have to get work done on it doesn't mean I want to maximize how long I have to wait for more of my paint to dry!"

"Sorry, Ma'am."

She gets the truck driver's info easily, Tim is very professional about the whole thing. Almost dispassionate, she worried if he was too in shock to get back in his vehicle. It would be irresponsible to insist as an LAPD officer yet, wouldn't it?

Matt, the BMW driver is harder to squeeze for his phone number or email in case anyone needs more than the pictures of licenses and insurance.

It's just as Tim is pulling away, that she ends up having to cuff the would-be car robber on her hood instead of the back of her car because of the damage. She thinks the smirk on his face might mean that not all guys would be turned off by her job, he definitely looks interested as he revs along the direction she and pants-sagger are going to start hauling.

When she ends up as his rookie she changes the name and emojis she put next to his contact info from the crash, she only hopes that he didn't see when he first called to make sure they were connected for their first shift.

He doesn't need to know how many hot and sweaty emojis she typed next to the car and explosion as a reminder of the hot older guy she didn't mind having a cute fender bender meet-cute with.
