"How's his training going?" Tangleburr asked, purring.
"Please let me sleep," Runningnose muttered. But it was hopeless. Tangleburr's eyes were shining, and she sauntered into his den like she was its primary residence.
"You can sleep later," she said. "I miss you. We've barely talked."
"Because we're both training apprentices," Runningnose muttered. "Have you forgotten about Lavendarpaw?"
Tangleburr flicked the tip of her tail. "Not hardly. She's exhausted. I'm here to visit my kin."
"Do it later," Runningnose said. "I just exhausted Littlepaw, and he fell asleep somewhere in camp. I deserve this rest, Tangleburr."
His sister sighed. "I miss you, you know," she said. "I meant that part."
"I miss you too, Tangleburr." He closed his eyes, tucking his tail over his nose. "We can share prey in the morning, okay?"
"Okay."
