Work Text:
Layton doesn't know what to expect when he opens the box Melanie's handed him.
What he definitely does not expect is the massive amounts of glitter that come out of the box.
"What the fuck is this, Melanie?" He raises an eyebrow, pulling out a canvas.
"It's a glitter portrait. It's a portrait, made out of glitter!" She smiles. "D'ya like it? Ruth and I were making them last night."
"And...were you sober when you were making these, or...?"
She shrugs. "Maybe. Maybe not. But seriously, do you like it?"
"I love it. I just don't know what to do with it." He laughs quietly.
"Hang it up. Put it on display. Enjoy the large amount of glitter that gets on your floor."
"I could put it in a plastic bag and hang it. Let all the glitter fall into the bag." He muses on that for a minute. "But seriously, thank you, Mel. Really, I love it." He holds out his arms, and she hugs him tight.
"Thank you."
