Chapter Text
Tommy was located in exile away from everyone, but himself and the occasionally Dream. Most believed he wanted to get back to the county he made L’manburg, but in truth he wants to get away from the power in those governments. Within the first weeks, he recognized what Dream was doing to him, the gaslighting he means. He wasn’t scared of Dream or what he was doing to him, but he found himself growing tired of Dream and his failed attempts at manipulation. Tommy’s personality quieted down within the first week of exile, Tommy was more secretive and observant, and overall less trusting. Tommy started to keep a record of when Dream would leave and return to Logstedshire. Tommy would use that rest time to escape.
Tommy waited for a time when Dream would leave, and Dream would leave him to rest and gather supplies for him to later blow up. Dream wanted to believe his manipulation was working, so he will, the manipulation may have had an affect on Tommy, but it wasn’t the way Dream intended it to come. Tommy cut down trees in the direction of the ocean separating him and his old home. If it goes according to plan Dream should believe that Tommy crafted a makeshift boat for his trip back to L’manburg. While Dream goes in that direction to search for him, he will go the other way, lightly collecting necessary materials he needs on the way. He kept his discs and compass in his endear chest in case in comes handy in the future, although he personally doesn’t believe that he has many attachments to the plastic and metal circles any longer. Tommy left a couple of thousand blocks away from his campsite and the direction of L’manburg. He had no plans of coming back to either once homes.
Once Tommy decided he got far away from his old homes to stay undetected, he started to dig. Although he would have liked an above ground home, he knew he couldn’t afford that and staying undetected. He spent a couple of weeks mining and gathering practically anything found in caves or just underground. To mine, he cleared out a giant rectangular box underground where he will put his home. When Tommy attempted to build his home, he realized how much his building skills were lacking. A small dirt shack was no longer acceptable as a house in his mind. He also had urges to experiment with building and red stone, this is very explainable if Tommy were to look in a mirror, but unfortunately for him, he had no such object. In truth, Tommy was getting hybrid traits. Tommy’s skin had a paler completion to it as well as his hair, the tips of his fingers and nails blackening and two stumps on his head for what is about to be horns. Tommy will have new hybrid instincts that he will later discover: an interest in anything involving craftsmanship, a liking towards dark and quiet places and intense insomnia. I mean what was sleep anyways? So anyways Tommy built a two-story house with the 1st story as his laboratory and the second story as his living space. If you were to ask Tommy what his house looks like, he would say a mix between a steampunk home and a mad scientist’s laboratory. Contrary to popular belief he loves his home. After Tommy finished with the interior of his home, he worked on setting out spots for others to build. After all, what is a hermit without friends?
