Work Text:
3 — eyes
her eyes mirror the sceneries of forests in deep reds and browns, and he is reminded of a man that used to carry his weighted heart with vigor. jaehyun kisses her fingertips with ease, his hands fitting against his daughter’s small palms.
“you have your father’s eyes,” he tells her.
5 — past life
they know each other. at least, that’s what taeyong thinks.
“it’s fascinating,” jaehyun smiles as he continues to flip through his book, slender fingers carefully stroking the thin pages that threaten to mark him with ink, “to think that maybe we’ve already met before during one of our past lives.”
taeyong cracks a smile. when he blinks, centuries melt into seconds, and he sees a castle bathing in blinding light.
7 — fifteen
he watches as lights flicker above their heads. he wonders if it would be cruel if he were to wish for something different.
taeyong looks at him with the same eyes from almost a decade ago — bright and curious and heavy with hunger — and he feel as though he is 15 again. suddenly, taeyong is wearing his gray sweater and white sneakers, and he is 15 years old and spellbound.
if they aren’t the people they are now, would they be given a chance to love the way trust is easily ripped from roots of confidence?
he is 15 and afraid, 15 and in love and looking through the mirror of trust taeyong has built from scratch.
i will choose you with confidence and let the world know of us, of what we share in silence, be it love or envy, of strangers and of lovers.
