Chapter Text
Yeah, Katsuki may have thrown a chair at someone after drinking a little too much during a party, but did he really need to be called into a meeting with one of the executives of his agency the week after? Maybe the shitty dude deserved to have a chair thrown dangerously close to him?
Though Katsuki relayed it over and over again in his mind, ultimately deciding that the meeting was stupid and a waste of his goddamn time, nothing could change the fact that he was sitting slouched in a shitty small office somewhere in his dumb agency's building.
Katsuki is hot, he knew that. He's a good looking dude, and exceptionally good at his job. His shoots never left the public disappointed, and he's one of his agency's biggest sources of revenue.
So how could one fucking chair possibly mean this much?
He crossed his arms, eyes drilling holes into the nervous bald old guy wearing a suit sitting in the grand desk in front of him, who must've been the executive chosen to hold the meeting.
The man coughed, giving a small smile before pushing up his square glasses and beginning to talk, "Hello, Mr. Bakugou, do you know why you were called in today?"
The blonde felt like a child in the principal's office as he let out a low grunt. The dude blinked a few times, looking down at a stack of papers displayed neatly on his desk, "Right...."
Stupid
Katsuki’s leg bounced furiously up and down as he scowled at the man in front of him, who only continued to speak.
"The agency is .. concerned .. with your unsteady reputation.. and would like you to take making some new associations with fellow talent into further consideration, im sure you understand Mr. Bakugou."
This is so fucking stupid.
The executive displayed an anxious grin in response to the others silence, taking it as a go ahead to further explain the situation and its many implications, "The other executives and I have discussed your attitude and .. well, lack of friendly connections within the industry.. So we have decided the best course of action, especially after these .. newer.. allegations, is to introduce you to some willing talent who will hopefully help in casting you in a better light."
"You're forcing me to make friends is what you're saying?" His eyes narrowed. He did not know exactly what he was expecting when he was called about coming in for a meeting, but this definitely was not that.
"Well.. that would be an ideal outcome, sure... but we just want you to make some new positive connections in the industry!" The man stiffened, interlocking his sweaty hands atop the desk.
".. Do I have too,” Katsuki almost groaned.
"I.. I believe the agency has made this a requirement for you, yes."
He mumbled a curse in response, averting his glare to the floor in thought, before flicking his eyes back up to the dude in front of him, "Fucking fine."
The old man's eyes widened in response, seemingly relieved at Katsuki’s agreement, however unenthusiastic it may have been. “Wonderful! I'll be in touch with you soon to discuss the nature of the agency's requests for you, as well as to have you meet the talent! Be checking your email for a date and time for our next meeting, it should only take a day or two for us to check in with the talent and find a day that aligns between both of your schedules…” the man nervously rambled on as Katsuki stared blankly at him, lost in thought.
He couldn't even believe he had agreed to this shit.. He had never cared much for the public's opinion on him, and for the most part his rough personality and “bad boy” attitude seemed to be what had drawn in a large majority of his fanbase.
Kastsuki had no friends in the industry, save for his family friend from childhood Midoriya: who to him was more of an annoying cousin following him around whom he felt obliged to pay somewhat of a mind to, rather than a friend. If he spoke to other “talent” it was purely for business. He was in this industry to succeed and surpass his peers, not to fuck around and make friends.
He was a perfectionist and a workaholic, his career being the most important thing to him. So he had to agree if anything just to appease the higher ups who would probably penalize him with revoking some of his lined up shoots and magazine opportunities if he hadn't.. As stupid as this whole setup was, he'd rather be civil with some extra for a bit if it meant he could go on as usual after and continue advancing in his career.
He snapped back to reality as the old fart in front of him rose from his chair, “Well, that's all Mr. Bakugou.. I'd hate to keep you any longer.” He smiled and reached out his hand.
Katsuki shook it languidly before shoving his hand back into his pocket, nodding at the executive before turning on his heel and exiting the office. He lugged through the sleek modern hallway of the agencies main building and made a beeline towards the elevators in the center of the floor, he just wanted to be home and far from this stupid place and all the fuck ass executives in it that had felt the need to force Katsuki into some weird ass ultimatum over a chair. Katsuki slammed the “down” button when he finally reached the corridor housing the elevators, and impatiently tapped his foot waiting for the door to slide open, once it did he quickly pressed the ground floor and leaned his back into the wall with a heavy sigh.
What the fuck have I gotten myself into.
