Chapter Text
Virgil: Is there such a thing as too much oxygen?
Logan: “Dosis sola facit venenum.”
Virgil: Uh. What.
Logan: The dose makes the poison, simply.
Virgil: ... so that’s a-?
Logan: There’s a threshold of oxygen levels that can lead to hypoxia... and I hope we all recognize the importance of breathing here?
[Everyone nods slowly.]
Logan: Well. There is a point of too much oxygen, hyperoxia. Which can lead to oxidative stress, damage to the lungs, and eyes... similar premise for things like water and medicine.
Patton: Oh-oh! Like Goldilocks?
Logan: Yes. I suppose you could call it the “Goldilocks Zone of Conducive for Continued Existence”, if you will.
Remus: Oh! That sounds like a lot of fun to test~
Virgil: NO! No - It doesn’t!
Janus, simultaneously: Sure, it does. Sounds like an absolute riot.
Logan, staring at Remus pointedly: I am not sure if I should bring up LD50s in this conversation.
Remus, staring back: Oh, come ON. You can’t leave us out to dry, here, Nerdy Wolverine!
[Logan sighs heavily and explains LD50s. Everyone but Remus backs away slowly. Not before Patton gets distressed about all this graphic death talk, Roman thinking weaponizing this info as dishonorable, Virgil now paranoid about everything, Janus jotting down some notes... oh, for no nefarious reason, surely.]
