Eyes on you
Seungwoo takes a deep breath, walking nervously alongside his boyfriend, Seungsik. He planned out a lovely date for them, going out for lunch together at their favourite restaurant, to then take a walk through a nearby park to let their meals settle and take cute pictures between the flowers. Seungsik already has his camera up, taking candid pictures of other pedestrians at the park, as well as some close-up shots of pretty flowers near them. Seungwoo smiles down at his boyfriend, warmth filling his chest in that special way it only does when he’s around him.
Seungwoo has been planning to propose to Seungsik for months now, going out of his way to sneakily measure his finger for ring size and attempting to talk about their future to figure out if Seungsik had some special fantasy in mind regarding the proposal. Luckily for him, Seungsik only ever says that he needs Seungwoo in his future, and the rest will all fall into place regardless. Earlier that morning, before their lunch date, Seungwoo had made sure to secretly move the ring in its velvety black box, from his briefcase, to his jacket. Seungsik has a tendency of cleaning up after Seungwoo quite a bit, which would lead him to easily find the ring, had Seungwoo not hidden it in his briefcase, the one item Seungsik wouldn’t mindlessly open and try to reorganise for his boyfriend.
As they walk around, they come to a more secluded area of the park, with cute pink flowers arranged alongside the ridges of the dirt path they’re currently on. Seungwoo spots a small tree close by, blossoms blowing in the wind around it, and decides it’s the perfect spot.
‘Sikkie!’
His boyfriend puts down his camera for a moment, letting it hang around his neck by the strap, and smiles up at him sweetly.
‘Yeah?’
Seungwoo wraps an arm around his shoulder and points at the tree he spotted earlier.
‘Take a picture of me by that tree? I think it’ll look good.’
Seungsik readily agrees with a chuckle and nod, walking over with his boyfriend. ‘You look good no matter what, though, Wooya.’
The taller of the two finds himself blushing, and quickly turns away as his darkish blond boyfriend shoots him a wink before lifting his camera again to adjust the lens for the shot.
Seungwoo leans against the tree for a moment, waiting for Seungsik to give him some directions. Meanwhile, he sneakily reaches into his jacket pocket to grab the ring box. Instead of velvety ridges, his long fingers come into contact with an empty pocket. His heart skips a beat in panic but he shakes it off, quickly checking his other pocket, only to find that it holds his wallet and car keys, nothing more. Panic is clear in his eyes as his heart beats rapidly and his mind returns to earlier that day, when he had taken the time to grab the velvety black box from between the papers in his briefcase. He had picked out his jacket for the day, hung it at the door, and then popped the box into the left-side pocket for safe keeping. Only, he remembers now, that Seungsik had walked out of their bedroom right before they were due to leave, with a jacket in his hands, which he kindly handed to his tall, nervous mess of a boyfriend.
Facepalming on the inside, Seungwoo realises the mistake he made in falling into their usual routine of Seungsik picking out Seungwoo’s jacket, as he himself has a tendency of picking one that’s too cold or too warm for the weather. This led to him getting ill over stupid weather in the past, which Seungsik doesn’t mind because he gets to baby him, but he’d rather have his partner be healthy. Seungsik had simply handed him a light jacket, suitable for the weather of the day, and had taken Seungwoo’s wallet from the coffee table together with the car keys and handed them to him, all the while sweetly nagging him that they would be late if they didn’t immediately leave.
Seungsik watches as his boyfriend’s eyes grow wide as he runs a hand through his black hair. He lowers his camera to peek over it with a raised eyebrow.
‘Seungwoo, are you alright, honey?’
Quickly playing it off, Seungwoo laughs nervously and nods. He clears his throat and points at the tree behind him awkwardly.
‘Yeah, just think a bug fell onto my hair. Haha…’
Chuckling at his boyfriend’s weird antics, Seungsik raises his camera again and takes a few test shots before instructing Seungwoo to smile and lean against the tree more, looking up at the leaves and blossoms above him. Seungwoo relaxes after a while, sighing and berating himself internally for a bit before simply accepting his fate and enjoying his date out with Seungsik.
The pair switch it up and Seungwoo takes a few cute pictures of Seungsik. It warms his heart to watch Seungsik’s sweet smile light up the space around him. He worries the flowers will mistake him for the sun, and turn towards him, seeking his warmth and light. Wrapping an arm around him once again, Seungwoo kisses the top of Seungsik’s head gently, smiling as they walk back to their car slowly. Maybe today wasn’t meant to be the day of the proposal, but at least they were together and having a good time regardless. Next time, Seungwoo thinks to himself as Seungsik smiles and throws flower petals at him playfully, next time I’ll get it right.

Because of you
The crisp evening air alongside the Han river causes a shiver to ripple through Seungsik’s body. Always in tune with his boyfriend’s needs, Seungwoo is quick to take off his own jacket in favour of wrapping it around Seungsik’s shivering frame.
‘Better?’
Seungsik nods gratefully, leaning against his boyfriend’s side to shelter himself from the wind. Seungwoo smiles and kisses his reddening nose, wrapping his arms around him tightly to further warm him up. Both of them look over the Han river, city lights in the background reflecting on the water, dancing around like fairies. Crickets behind them in the shrubbery call out loudly, drowning out the sounds of cars in the distance.
‘Snoopy, look!’ Seungsik happily points out a shooting star in the sky, the light reflecting back in his big eyes. Seungwoo finds himself looking down at his boyfriend rather than the sky. To him, Seungsik is the brightest star of all, right next to him to grant him his biggest wish. As long as he’s by his side, there’s nothing Seungwoo feels the need to wish for.
‘It’s beautiful, isn’t it?’
Seungwoo hums in agreement, still looking down at Seungsik with nothing but adoration in his eyes. Noticing his boyfriend’s lack of response, Seungsik turns his head to find Seungwoo staring down at him. A blush spreads across his cheeks, matching his reddening nose from the cold wind.
‘Oh my god, stop that!’ Shyly, he punches at Seungwoo’s broad shoulders, who simply laughs and pulls him closer. The pair playfully wrestle in each other’s arms for a while before Seungwoo calls for a truce after pecking Seungsik’s cold lips.
‘Let’s sit by the water?’ Seungsik readily agrees and waddles alongside him towards the edge of the water. They take a seat, side by side and Seungwoo takes a deep breath while looking down at the water. Reaching for his side, he pats around for a moment before squeezing his eyes closed in realisation. Seungsik is still wearing his jacket. The same jacket that Seungwoo had put his proposal ring in. He lets himself slump against the railing next to him, alerting Seungsik to something being awry.
‘Wooya?’ Turning his head, he finds Seungsik looking at him with those big caring puppy eyes, making his heart swell. Seungsik tilts his head and leans against him more, trying to share their warmth as another harsh blow of wind hits them from behind.
‘I’m alright. Just a bit tired. Let’s rest here a while before heading home?’ Nodding, Seungsik kisses his cheek and rests his head in the crook of Seungwoo’s neck. He wraps Seungwoo’s jacket around him tighter, smiling happily to himself. Seungwoo lays an arm around him and rubs his upper arm with his thumb comfortingly, looking over the water in front of them rippling in the wind. Another failed attempt, caused by his own chivalry and his soft boyfriend. He closes his eyes with a chuckle and rests his head on Seungsik’s gently. ‘I love you.’
Seungsik kisses his neck and mumbles a sweet ‘love you’ back to him.

Mayday
Seungwoo smiles to himself, humming as he cuts up various fruits and gathers them in a bowl for himself and Seungsik to share. Upon cutting everything up, he reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a silver ring. It shimmers under the kitchen spotlights above him. He grabs one of the softer banana pieces and gently presses the ring into the middle of it. A wide smile stretches across his lips and his heart beats faster as he realises he’ll finally be able to propose to the love of his life.
In the living room, Seungsik is curled up on the couch, waiting for him to return. They plan to watch movies together all night, curled up under a blanket. Upon his return, Seungsik smiles at his boyfriend happily, opening his arms for him to join the cuddle party on the couch. Seungwoo chuckles and sets the fruit bowl and forks down on the coffee table before settling into the couch. Seungsik instantly wraps himself around him, nearly sitting in his lap. Seungwoo fixes the blanket around them and presses play, turning the volume of the TV up.
‘Want some fruit, Sikkie?’ Nodding cutely, Seungsik turns his head and opens his mouth, ready to be fed by his boyfriend. Seungwoo smiles and reaches over to prick some apple onto the fork, before gently feeding it to him. Chewing happily, Seungsik nuzzles against Seungwoo’s shoulder and returns his attention back to the TV. This goes on for a little while. Seungwoo feeds himself and Seungsik some fruit occasionally as they laugh at the ridiculous scenes unfolding on their TV in front of them. At one point however, Seungwoo reaches over to the fruit bowl to find it empty. His eyes widen like saucers and his heart rate picks up. Blinking in confusion, he turns to Seungsik to find him having dozed off against him.
‘Damn…’
One of them must’ve swallowed the ring, too engrossed with each other and the movie to notice it. Sighing, he turns off the TV, resigning to his repeated failure. He turns to his boyfriend and picks him up carefully to carry him to their bed. On the way, Seungsik nuzzles into him more, contently grunting and mumbling in his sleep. Seungwoo’s heart skips a beat at the puppy-like behaviour, almost forgetting his 3rd failed proposal.
Almost.

Nostalgic night
Seungwoo hums along with the radio as Seungsik sings softly. The ride back from their weekly dinner date is filled with a homely atmosphere. Comfort and love lingers in the air between them, their fingers intertwined on the center console as Seungwoo uses his other hand to steer the car. Pulling into the driveway, Seungsik moves to get out of the car and turns back to Seungwoo.
‘Are you coming, Woo-ya?’
Nodding, Seungwoo points at the garage.
‘I’ll get it in the garage and come in soon.’
Not thinking much of it, Seungsik blows him a kiss before heading to the front door to their home. Seungwoo meanwhile opens their garage with the remote and slowly drives the car in. Once he cuts off the engine, he jumps out and pops open the trunk. In it, he finds his guitar, a bunch of roses, and-
‘Oh no…’
Seungwoo looks all over the car, panic settling in his chest. He hid the ring in the car before dinner so he could surprise Seungsik with a cute acoustic solo concert and then propose romantically. Of course, he finds himself looking in every nook and cranny, without avail instead. The ring has seemingly disappeared into thin air.
‘Seriously, again?’ Groaning, he continues his search until he hears Seungsik open the garage door.
‘Snoopy?’
Seungwoo smacks his head into the top of the door as he startles by Seungsik’s sudden presence. Seungsik rushes over and caresses the top of his head gently.
‘Sorry, are you alright? You’ve been out here for a while now.’
Nodding, Seungwoo lets Seungsik fuss over him and blushes as Seungsik makes him bend over so he can kiss the top of his head. It feels like it might turn into a pretty bad bump as Seungsik gently trails his fingers across his scalp.
‘You should put some ice on that. I’ll close the car doors. Were you looking for something?’
Seungwoo straightens out quickly with a blush and shakes his head before rushing into the house to tend to his bump and avoid answering his boyfriend’s question. With a chuckle, Seungsik walks around the car, closing the doors one at a time. When he makes it to the trunk, he finds Seungwoo’s guitar laying in it, surrounded by roses. Tilting his head in confusion, he picks up one of the roses, sniffing it. He smiles at the scent and his heart flutters at the thought of Seungwoo planning something romantic for him.
Closing the trunk and locking the car, he makes his way towards the door, bumping into something near the rear left wheel.
‘What’s this?’ He crouches down to find a small velvet box. Opening it, he tears up, smiling to himself.
‘Woo-ya…’

Stay with me
‘Look, there’s a fish there!’
Seungsik points out the shadow of a fish moving under the water’s surface as they stand on a small wooden bridge over one of the park’s many small streams.
‘Really? Where?’
Seungwoo stands next to him, leaning into him to follow where his finger is pointing enthusiastically. Seungsik smiles brightly as Seungwoo finally also spots the fish and excitedly points along. The pair laugh together and bump shoulders as they enjoy the soft midday breeze blowing through the park. The sun shines brightly above them, creating reflections and rainbows on the water’s surface.
A few birds fly over their heads, causing Seungwoo to look up and point them out. Seungsik follows them with his eyes as they disappear behind the treeline in the distance. Next to him, Seungwoo takes this chance to take a step back, kneel, and pull a velvety box out of his jacket pocket. Smiling, he opens the box and takes a deep breath, ready to get Seungsik’s attention and finally propose.
He holds out the velvety box and straightens out his jacket.
‘Sik-’
Just as he wants to call out for his boyfriend, a gust of wind tickles his nose just right and causes him to sneeze violently. This creates a ripple effect in his body, making his arm twitch outwards and flinging the ring, box and all, into the river below. In a frantic attempt to save the ring, Seungwoo stretches out for it but ends up tumbling after it in the water below. The loud splash catches Seungsik’s attention and he turns around to find his boyfriend soaked from head to toe, sitting in knee height water.
‘Woo-ya, how did this happen?’ He chuckles at his clumsy boyfriend and walks to the edge of the bridge to give him a hand. Slowly, Seungwoo gets up with his help, pouting the whole way.
‘It’s nothing, let’s just get home.’
Sensing that there’s more to the story, judging by his boyfriend’s sudden gloomy demeanor, Seungsik hums to himself but leaves it be for now.
‘Let’s go get you cleaned up.’
Lucky for them, their house is within a short walking distance of the park, so they manage to get Seungwoo home and in the shower quickly. Once he’s washed up and dry again, Seungsik walks him to the couch and wraps a blanket around him.
‘I’ll go make us some tea, Snoopy. Need anything else?’
The taller of the 2 shakes his head with a pout and sinks away in his blanket. With a smile, Seungsik kisses the top of his head, before walking into the kitchen.
As he puts on the kettle and waits for the water to boil, he puts his hand in his pocket and smiles as he pulls out a velvet box. Opening it, he takes out the simple silver ring with beautiful engravings. His heart swells, remembering Seungwoo’s clear attempts at proposing to him, and how badly they keep ending up. Seungsik wonders how long it’ll take for Seungwoo to get it right. In all honesty, all he has to do is ask and Seungsik will say yes before he even has the chance to finish his question. They’ve been living together for years and most people already think they’re married at this point.
Deciding to help his clumsy boyfriend out, he puts the ring on his finger and smiles at it. He prepares 2 cups of tea for them and carries them into the living room. After setting the cups on the coffee table, he settles next to Seungwoo and turns to him.
‘Woo-ya.’
His reply comes in the form of a hum, accompanied by a big pair of puppy eyes. Seungsik turns to him fully, his heart threatening to beat out of his chest.
‘Ask me.’
Seungwoo frowns and tilts his head in question. Rolling his eyes playfully, Seungsik lifts his hand to show off the ring he found in the garage a few weeks before. Seungwoo sits up, letting the blanket fall and bunch up around his legs.
‘What?! How-’
Seungsik chuckles softly and moves his hands up to caress Seungwoo’s cheeks.
‘Ask me.’
Blinking, Seungwoo calms himself with a deep sigh before looking Seungsik in the eyes.
‘Sikkie, I love you so much. You’re the light of my life and I can’t imagine spending my life with anyone else. Will you marry me, please?’
Smiling, Seungsik tears up and nods, leaning in for a sweet kiss.
‘A million times yes, Woo-ya. I love you too.’
