The setting Sun flashed through the receding Clouds over Tipoca City. Soon new ones would take their place and resume the endless rain that plagued the Planet. But from time to time a stray beam of light got through and Illuminated the living space of their shared Apartment in a gold and orange glow.
Boba let out a soft sigh as he was finally asleep on Jangos Chest. Lulled by the warmth and the steady heart beat of his Father. Jango himself lounged on their Sofa, one leg bent at knee, the other he had let lazily dropped to the ground. He kept his son steady with one Hand. Boba was still so small, even though he had grown a lot over the last year. He didn't want that to change anytime soon. In his other Hand Jango held a Datapad. The Article he had started to read was long forgotten in favor for the third occupant of the Sofa.
Shmi had her legs tugged under herself and Jango watched as she diligently sowed the two pices of cloth, that were in her hands, together. Her Dark hair was let loose from her updo for once and cascaded down her back. Pooling around her shoulders in waves, accentuating her pale neck. Her lips were softly humming a tune that felt so foreign and familiar to his ears at the same time. Maybe she had sung it to Boba before. The lines around her eyes crinkled in concentration and warmth started to build up in Jangos Chest. He hoped that the picture before him wouldn't change anytime soon either.
Because of Boba of course. He told himself. Yes all of this was just because of Boba. The warmth in his Chest? Boba was Sleeping right on the spot. The wish that she wouldn't leave? Well Boba would be lonely if the two of them were gone. Not that she, or he for that matter, could truly leave for the next eight years anyway. She put the last stitches in place and tied off the tread. Then she turned to look at him and smiled. It was the kind of smile he always couldn't help but to reciprocate. It always made her look a lot younger.
Shmi stood up. Her white Sleeping gown fell around her legs. She wrapped the long pice of fabric she had just worked on around her waist. As it seemed she had turned it into some sort of long wrap-around skirt. "What do you think?", Shmi asked, looking a bit flustered. "It's good.", Jango answered. He didn't have much knowledge regarding Fashion, but the colors worked together nicely he thought. The geometric Design of the golden fabric kept it from looking plain either. It hadn't been cheap to buy, but her smile at his compliment made everything worth it.
Jup, Boba would definitely miss her when the Time would come when she would leave the two of them behind.
