Once upon a time, there was one spirit. They seemingly appeared out of nowhere, came into existence in the most direct way.
They were lost at first, looking around, trying to understand what everything is, why everything is and how everything is.
It took a long long time before first conscious thought pierced through the sheer mass of ‘Light. Darkness. Weightless. Endless’
“I exist.” They thought. “We exist” echoed in return and the spirit split into two equal parts.
Once consciousness was born in each of them they felt the weightlessness disappear. They started falling and fall they did.
Two golden shooting stars fell from the endless void straight into the existence.
They travelled across the worlds and slowly they shaped themselves in the likeness of the people they met, always adapting, always learning, never staying the same.
Growth led to changes. Eventually they gained physical bodies and had to adjust yet again.
One of them took on an alias, Lumine. ‘She’ was the first one to do so and the first one to choose what her physical appearance was going to be.
‘He’ followed after. Aether.
Lumine and Aether.
Those were not their real names, but no one else other than them had to know that.
Two halves of one whole. Inseparable, they followed each other and helped each other, travelling universes, looking for a reason to them existing in the first place.
Their journey led them to a curious world filled with mysteries and built on lies.
They overstayed their welcome. They should have left earlier.
The cataclysm.
The tragedy.
The separation…
It was unbearable.
She fell asleep for a long long time.
She woke up and…
