Work Text:
Kuroo Tetsurou was one of the youngest billionaires in the world. Some would say he had the street smart and the right luck to get himself where he is now. A lot would say (because of his signature shit-eating grin and devious mind) that he had made a deal with the devil. Kuroo laughed like a hyena the first time he heard this. There were others who said his mother was seduced by an incubus and that Kuroo was conceived as the devil incarnate. Another huge laugh. Really these rumors relating in any way to any devil was hilarious but quickly getting out of hand. If he heard Kenma right, some of them even had proof. What kind, he doesn't know. Akaashi, who is handling the entirety of his PR and Legal team, was doing a great job ensuring these pesky rumors didn't get out of hand.
He didn't particularly care what other people see him as or what rumor was spoken about him (no matter how convoluted it is). He had better things to do. Like ensuring Kei's happiness. Coz, well, Kei thinks Kuroo's got a great job as an assistant manager with a great boss (well, Kenma and Akaashi by extension ( his bosses ), are handling his business well). In reality, Kuroo's a business tycoon who started in chemistry and pharmaceuticals, ventured in real estate and merchandising.
Kei does not know about Kuroo's wealth, he doesn't want that to define him because that's not how his parents brought him up. Yes, Kuroo was born privileged, his parents inheriting riches from their families and making a name for themselves, but that doesn't mean he was brought up with a silver spoon. He earned whatever he received from them- his first bike? Every year for three years, he helped a classmate with his lemonade stand. His first game console? He got transferred to advanced math class and aced it. His first car? Dad told him he had to earn the money to buy it so he got a job at the local gas station and waited tables at a local restaurant for a whole year. When they went to get the car, Dad bragged to anyone who would listen that his son bought the car himself. His earnings didn't put a dent on what the car actually costs but that wasn't the point.
So he knows he's rich, knows he will inherit everything his parents had under their name, and his parents made him understand his wealth and taught him the family trade early on. His parents made sure he knows he is more than whatever wealth there is.
And he does. Something he likes to keep that way. After all, Kei knows every important thing about him that makes Kuroo, well...Kuroo.
He met Kei when he was still a second year in uni and Kuroo was in his third (he took a gap year after high school). It was the 2nd half of the school year. Kei had a part time job at a local coffee shop several blocks from uni. It wasn't the one Kuroo frequented but it was where he and his group agreed to meet for their group work.
He was a bit pissed arriving in the coffee shop after one of his classmates failed to return his notes he needed that day so he was a bit (okay, maybe a lot) rude than usual. The blond didn't appreciate the attitude and he placed Rooster on his cup instead of his name. It did not escape his notice though that the blond called his name correctly even if he placed the wrong name on the cup. Of course, as a person who likes to get the last laugh, he pointed it out to the blond. It annoyed the blond but it also gave Kuroo the opportunity to see pink bloom in the blond's face from his cheeks, his ears, his neck and disappear under his uniform.
Was he interested in the blond after that? Yes.
Did he go back to the coffee shop just to see and tease the blond again? Definitely!
He'd like to say the rest is history but it wasn't. The blond didn't date him until the start of the next term (after too many failed attempts, getting Kei's schedule in school, afterschool org/club activities, and the coffee shop so he would know the best time to see him and so he could accidentally run in on him, and, of course, asking help from friends who are mutual friends or classmates of Kei) and moved in together after Kei graduated.
The apartment they moved into was the smallest house Kuroo's ever had (his room in the family home was bigger than the whole apartment) and it took Kuroo some time to adjust to it. What he liked best about it though was that wherever he went in the apartment, he would always see Kei. He always loved the sight of Kei no matter what he was doing.
Three years later, Kuroo popped the question. Fast forward to four months and they said their vows and ‘I Do’s’.
That was last night.
Kuroo smiled to himself as the memories came back to him from the wedding (Kei looked exquisite as always) the reception (a lot if not all of their mutual friends were more or less inebriated by the end) and their first sex as a married couple (mindblowing). And today was the first day of their 3-week honeymoon (okay, he pulled some strings so the museum would allow Kei that long vacation, read: handsome anonymous donation )
Feeling all kinds of amazing, awesome, exhilaratingly sore from their exploits last night (and he knows Kei would feel it more than Tetsurou), Kuroo reached out to the other end of the bed for the blond. All he caught, however, was the sheets. Opening his eyes, he lifted his head to see but he was alone on the bed, looked around the room but there was no blond in sight.
Huh.
Wrapping the sheets around his bare lower half, he went and stood in the doorjamb to search the rest of the bungalow. He could smell coffee and cooked breakfast, the pans were still on the stove, china was already set on the table ready to be used, but there was no blond in sight.
Where was Kei?
Hearing the crashing of the waves outside and knowing how the blond always loved the beach, Kuroo made his way out of the bungalow and down the short pathway to the beach. True enough, there was Kei, barefoot on the shore, waves crashing on his feet. He must've been following the shoreline.
The island they were at wasn't big, one can walk the whole way around it in about an hour. Around half of it was surrounded with trees, other plants and wildlife (he made sure the island would be safe since he knows of Kei's tendencies to wander) and a small clearing near the shore just enough for a small house and a small dock. They were the only ones on the island, and hired caretakers came every other day.
A small smile painted Kuroo's lips as we watched the blond. He had a white dress shirt and black boxers on and looked all kinds of delectable. There was always something about Kei wearing his clothes that made Kuroo hungry. With proper lighting, he could see the love marks he left down the inside of Kei's thighs. He could feel the heat pooling, making his dick twitch. Maybe he will have Kei for breakfast. It wouldn't be unwelcomed.
Kei must've noticed someone looking at him coz he raised his head and turned back. His gold ones met Kuroo's hazel and immediately a soft smile graced the younger's lips. He made his way to the raven-haired, laughing when he fully saw him.
“Tetsu, what are you wearing?” Kei asked, stopping just out of arm's reach.
“Well, if someone hadn't left with my clothes, I wouldn't be in this state,” he snarked good-naturedly, beckoning him to come closer.
Kei looked at the hand, then back to his face. He held both his hands behind him as if to stop himself from reaching over Kuroo's outstretched hand, making the raven-haired raise an amused eyebrow at the blond.
Nose and chin in the air, Kei teased back, “If you hadn't been an animal last night and tore mine, I wouldn't be doing this.”
Two can play the game , lit in Kei's eyes.
Oh no, now Kuroo can't wait.
Tetsurou let go of the sheets, allowing it to fall but Kei quickly surged forward to stop it and preserve Tetsurou’s innocence (which he was sure he ran out of since he was a child), eyes wide in alarm.
“What are you doing? Someone might see!” Kei scolded.
“We’re alone on this island,” Tetsurou smirked, caging Kei, his husband (and doesn’t that sound good), in his arms. “So we can do whatever we want.”
Understanding the smirk on his husband’s face, Kei immediately said, “We are not doing it here.”
But Tetsurou always liked a challenge.
Kei lost. And he found himself on the sand, moaning and whimpering under Tetsurou’s talented ministrations, making him reach climax after climax with only the skies and seas as their witness.
“You’re rich, aren’t you?”
Tetsurou found himself choking on his food as he looked at Kei seated at the other side of the table. After their little stint at the beach, they found themselves having cold breakfast that late morning.
“No, I’m not, what are you talking about?” Tetsurou was not convincing.
Kei rolled his eyes. “Don’t lie to me.”
Tetsurou shrugged, not trusting whatever will go out of his mouth.
Kei rested his chin on his hand, smirking towards his husband. “You really think you can hide something like that from me?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Tetsurou said, going back to his cold bacon.
“We’re alone on this small island but there is, conveniently, a house and a dock. The surroundings had been cleaned professionally and caretakers come to clean it. The driver of the boat that brought us here said to ‘Call me anytime, Boss.’
“So?” Tetsurou challenged. “The island and house is being rented and the driver calls anyone who hires him ‘Boss.’ It doesn’t prove anything.”
Kei’s smirk widened and Tetsurou couldn’t help but think that he fell in a trap. “Tetsu, you looked mind-blown when you saw the apartment we shared when we started living together and it took you some time to adjust to it. And by adjusting, I mean stop asking me to move somewhere bigger every single day. There were so many other things, too, when we started living together. When the museum sent me to work on the other side of the country, you had no problems procuring transportation for me and for yourself when you visited. I was allowed a 3-week long vacation for my wedding just after a big donation was made to the museum. You told me not to worry about who to invite and paid for most of the wedding expenses. You shouldered everything at the reception, which we had at one of the most expensive hotels in the country. And we rode a private jet out of the country to come here.”
“I have very generous bosses,” Tetsurou explained.
“Who? Akaashi-san and Kenma-san?”
“Yeah.”
“Did they pay for the wedding, too?”
“They helped.”
“Funny coz they told me you were the boss.”
Both of them stared at each other but as time passed, Kei’s smirked turned into a grin the longer Tetsurou kept quiet.
“Dammit,” Tetsurou cursed.
Kei laughed softly. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I like who I am with you, okay? I like that I got to be just Kuroo Tetsurou.”
“You are,” Kei supplied, the hand he used to hold his head up extending forward towards Tetsurou over the small table. Tetsurou placed his hand over Kei’s and intertwined their hands together. “I’m not really angry that you didn’t tell me. I know you have your reason. But we’re married now. I’d rather you told me the ugly truth than telling me little lies to protect me. Although being rich isn’t really an ugly truth but you get the gist. You can’t protect me or our future children forever.”
Tetsurou took their intertwined hands and kissed the back of Kei’s hand. “I love you, do you know that?”
“If you married me and you didn't, I’d drown you.”
Tetsurou laughed. Yeah, Kei would. “I know you don’t want me spending too much but we only get to have this once. So please let me spoil you for our honeymoon.”
“Am I going to be surprised at how much you will be spending?”
“Probably?”
Kei rolled his eyes again. “Fine. Let’s at least go and enjoy the city.”
“There are museums I’m sure you will enjoy.”
“Good.” Kei’s brows furrowed. “I hope I brought enough clothes. I was thinking we’d be spending all of three weeks here.”
A glint of mischief crossed Tetsurou’s face. “Oh don’t worry. The only time you will need your clothes is when we go out. While we’re here, I’ll keep you in your birthday suit.”
“I can’t believe I married a pervert.”
Tetsurou’s laugh reverberated around the bungalow.
