Chapter 1: After School in the Student Council Room

Notes:

i know this chapter is super super short but it's just a lead-in bc i had no idea how to start this whole thing🕴

Chapter Text

School had already ended, and many kids were heading home or hanging around the halls with their friends. The weekend was now finally here, which of course meant excitement since it was a break from school.

Over in the student council room, Teru and Akane were taking care of their usual duties, though this time around Teru was obviously upset about something.

* Sigh*

“...”

* Sigh*

“...”

* Sigh*

“For the love of God, what the hell is wrong,” Akane irritatedly asked as he finally got fed up with Teru’s repeated sighs.

“Look,” Teru’s voice was sorrowful as he showed him a picture of Kou and Tiara on his phone.

“Umm… okay? And?” Akane made a face at Teru, “I don’t get it.”

“They used to be so small…”

“Okay…”

Is this guy for real?

Akane squinted at Teru as he thought about how dramatic and emotional he was being. Usually, he would make some smartass remark towards Akane or set up some type of trap; why the hell was he acting all sad and sentimental out of nowhere?

“You know, just the other day we sent off my little sister to run her first errand,” Teru continued and recalled his and Kou’s mission of making sure Tiara was safe on her own, “She didn’t even need us at all… she’s growing up too fast…”

“Right…”

“I mean, it feels like just the other day that Kou was little too…”

“Uh-huh…”

“Pretty soon they won’t be needing me anymore…”

“Dude, you sound like an old man complaining about his own kids,” Akane adjusted his glasses while flashing a judgmental look at Teru, still confused as to what exactly Teru was going on about.

“You don’t have any siblings, right, Aoi?”

“None.”

“Hmph.”

“The hell is that supposed to mean?”

“Nothing,” Teru glanced at him, “nothing at all.”

“Your attitude suggests otherwise.”

“Well,” Teru closed his laptop shut and put it away in his bag, completely ignoring what Akane had to say, “Tomorrow, you can come over to my house and we can finish up everything else.”

Your house?”

“Yes,” Teru smiled at him, “I have my own things to attend to right now, so I need to get going. Is there a problem?”

“Ugh…,” Akane sighed at the thought of having to go over to Teru’s place on his day off, but he knew that saying “no” was not an option.

“Great, see you tomorrow then,” Teru slung his bag over his shoulder, already making his way over to the door. Without another word, the president left the room, leaving Akane alone. Akane sat in his chair and sighed loudly as he already started to dread tomorrow. He didn’t even want to think of the mental torture he would have to go through from being at that guy’s house.

And what the hell was that all about? The guy acted all depressed and emotional out of nowhere, but then pretty much pretended as if he didn’t bring any of that stuff up at all and just got up and left. What was the point of that? Akane just could not wrap his head around the mystery of that idiotic president.

Akane started to pack his stuff in his bags, getting ready to go home. After he left the student council room, he kept trying to convince himself that tomorrow wouldn’t be so bad. All he had to do was finish the work fast enough so he could get out of there in no time. Yeah, that’s all there was to it.

As he made his way home, he simply did his best to forget about it until the time came.
