Celina found herself letting out a shiver as she watched snow begin to fall outside her window. Winter was almost over, but the snow was now showing itself as she watched from the throne room’s window. It was going to be a cold day and she found herself worrying. Brine and Cenlar were both out in the town getting some supplies, but there was no way they could stay out there for very long. Brine hated the cold, that much she knew.
“Please come home soon, boys,” she whispered.
As if her wishes had been heard, Celina heard the doors to the throne room open and she turned her head. Cenlar and Brine, dressed in their coats and mittens, closed the doors behind them. Celina ran up to them, asking, “Boys, are you okay?”
Cenlar nodded and responded with, “It’s freezing out there, but I think we’re both okay.” He turned to their spouse. “How you holdin’ up, Brine?”
Brine made a small huff and shook his head. “I don’t feel good. I know the cold can’t really do damage to me, but I… I still hate it.”
Celina gave him a soft smile and gently took one of his hands in hers. She placed a gentle kiss to his knuckles. “Well, how about I set up a fire and we can warm up together?”
Cenlar and Brine nodded. “That would be nice,” the king responded.
“Alright then. I’ll get dinner started and get a fire going.”

The flint and steel Celina held clicked as she rubbed them together and a small spark flew from them. It landed upon the wood she had set up in a small fireplace, sparking up a flame within a few minutes. She watched the fire for a few minutes, making sure it wouldn’t catch anything alight in the small brick area. When she was sure it would be fine, the queen smiled. “Looks good.” Celina turned to where her spouses sat before the fire, each with a bowl of rabbit stew with a bowl waiting by them for her. She made her way to sit between Brine and Cenlar. She took her bowl and her king and Demi-God of a spouse wrapped part of their blanket around her. She could feel them scoot just a little closer to her as they began to eat, and Celina giggled.
When the three had finished their food, Celina took their bowls into her inventory and sighed softly. “How was it, boys,” she asked.
“It was really good, Celina,” Cenlar responded. “You’ve really gotten good with stew making.”
Brine nodded in agreement.
Celina smiled. “Thank you. I didn’t think it would come out very good since I haven’t made stew in a while.” She watched the fire as it waved and the wood crackled, and she threw in another small block of wood to fuel it. She then leaned back, putting one arm on Cenlar’s shoulders and the other on Brine’s shoulders. The two blinked, before putting their arms around their wife and holding her between them. She relaxed into their hold, smiling ever so softly.
The three stayed in a comfortable silence for a few moments, listening to the flames as they licked away at the wood. The room was bathed in a soft orange glow and the three stayed in loving silence. Celina was the one to break it, speaking softly.
“I love you boys so much,” she started. “You both make life wonderful. You both know how to treat someone and have taught me so much about being in love.” She chuckled. “I never really thought I’d be married to two people, but I can’t imagine life without either of you.”
Cenlar nodded. “And we love you just as much. You’re wonderful, Celina. We love you dearly and we always will. No matter what happens, we’ll always be here for you.”
Brine nodded in response to his words. “You know,” he started. “I never thought I would find someone, or two someones, after what happened to me. I never thought I would grow close to anyone again, but you two have truly changed me and made me a better person. You both mean the world to me, and I wouldn’t give up our life for anything.” He kissed Celina very tenderly on the cheek, one of his hands reaching across her chest to hold onto one of Cenlar’s hands.
Cenlar chuckled. “Brine, you mean everything to us, too. You’re wonderful, you’re kind, and you’ve become such a good person. We love you.”
“And I love you two.” He held a little tighter to Celina and intertwined his fingers with the king’s. He felt his eyes watering, warm tears falling down his face. “I love you two so much.”
The queen could feel a droplet plop onto her shirt and she leaned up to kiss Brine’s cheek. “Don’t cry, sweetie.”
The Demi-God let out a small laugh. “I can’t help it… I just love you two so much. I always will. I will cherish you for the rest of the time we’re together, and no matter what happens, I will always be yours.”
Cenlar gripped his hand a little tighter. “And we will be yours, too.” He reached over to wipe Brine’s eyes, making the being smile.
The three scooted as close as they could to each other, wrapped in each other’s arms and occasionally giving each other soft kisses. They stayed there until the fire began to die down. Celina spoke up.
“I think we should get to the bed, boys. It’s getting late and the kiddos are already asleep by now.”
Brine nodded. “I think so, too.” He carefully stood alongside his spouses, the blanket still draped on all their shoulders. The three made their way up the stairs to their bedroom, closing the doors and making their way into their bed. Celina climbed into the middle, Cenlar on her left and Brine on her right. She pulled them close to her as the boys pulled the blanket over themselves, covering her too. She yawned softly.
“Sounds like someone’s tired,” Cenlar commented.
“Mmhmm,” the queen answered. “I am. Today was a pretty good day.” She closed her eyes and whispered, “Good night, boys. I love you two.”
“We love you too, my queen,” Brine told her, placing a kiss on her forehead.
“Sweet dreams, my love,” Cenlar said, doing the same with his kiss.
Celina was out within a few minutes and Brine ran a hand along the curls in her hair. Cenlar petted her hair. He chuckled. “She’s so cute. I love her so much.”
Brine nodded. “I do, too. Maybe we should make her breakfast tomorrow.”
“Sounds like a good idea.” Cenlar smiled. “Good night, Brine. I love you.”
Brine nodded to Cenlar as they both laid down, and he responded with, “I love you too. See you in the morning.”
“See you in the morning.”
