Work Text:

He stood there, frozen; rain pouring heavily and collecting into a puddle in front of him. His soaked clothes and the cold breeze of the night made him shiver slightly, and yet, he still felt numb.

A distant thunder broke him from his trance; his trembling hands jerking up, as he was about to cover his ears. Win has always been afraid of thunderstorms, and Bright knows it. And so, he reaches for him and immediately engulfs him in his arms.

They stood there, arms weaved tightly around each other. No one made a sound; only the dripping of the rain filled up their ears. Bright always spoke through his actions. Each stroke on his back, and the way he tightens his hold around him even more was enough for Win to know what he wants to say. It's as if he can hear Bright say, "It's okay. You don't have to be afraid. I'm here for you. I will always be."

But even so, the other's words from earlier still echo in his mind, "I'm sorry, Win. I don't feel the same way."

He breaks down then, the pouring rain washing away his tears as he holds the man he loves. "Just until the rain stops", he promises himself.

He doesn't know how long they've stayed like that—too unaware of his surroundings, of anything that isn't Bright—and just hears Bright suddenly whisper, "It stopped raining. Do you want to go home?".

Win doesn't move, instead he buries his face deeper in the other's neck, and holds him closer.

In a hushed tone he responds, "I want it to rain again".
