Work Text:
A week had passed since the defeat of Horde Prime, and Entrapta had finally returned to Dryl, bringing Hordak along to live there as well. She gave him the grand tour, telling him about her time on Beast island, and everything she had done since they were separated; as well as introduced him to the kitchen staff and her robots. “And this will be your room!” Entrapta opened the door to reveal a cozy bedroom with a small workspace in the corner. “It's right next to mine in case you need anything like a new map.” Hordak was about to respond to express his gratitude, but to no surprise, he was cut off before he even had the chance to open his mouth. “Now come on. I have one more surprise for you!” She couldn’t contain her excitement and pulled him over to the bed and sat him down, revealing to him a case of hair dye. “You are you on the inside again, so now we can make you, you on the outside again too.”
With a big grin, the short princess hopped behind him and got onto her knees, using her hair to squeeze the dye into a bowl and mixed it up with the brush. “You know I am capable of dying my own hair.” Hordak finally had a chance to speak, he hardly had a chance to say a thing since he arrived. “Yeah, but I want to do it for you, doing it yourself is so annoying.” She patted his shoulder as she began.
“Well, thank you. For everything. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.” The awkwardness has yet to leave. But that's okay, it was cute. “Well, you are my friend. Friends do nice things for each other.”
“Yes, right. Friends.” The princess couldn’t tell that his face was red, but the awkward silence that came was less than fun for the princess, what was she supposed to say? But thankfully the silence was broken with a question. “Entrapta, do friends make you feel fuzzy inside?” That was a weird question, one she didn’t really have a straight answer to. But if he had asked it he must have felt it. “I don’t think so. None of my friends have ever made me feel ‘fuzzy’. But usually, they feel that way if that friend makes them...feel certain things.” She put down the dye brush and began to clean up his hairline, preparing to let it sit, eventually meeting his face with the towel, making eye contact.
Hordak wasn’t stupid, he had realized what she had meant, but it was still complicated. “Do I make you feel those ‘certain things’?” he glanced away now, actively avoiding eye contact. He was cute, the way he didn’t understand what he felt and wasn’t sure how to express it, though she wasn’t quite sure how to answer that. Something about a simple yes just didn’t feel like it would be enough. Not taking another second to think she leaned forward and gave him a quick, soft kiss on the cheek.
Hordak froze up, it felt like his heart stopped for what seemed like an eternity, by the time he had snapped out of it Entrapta was back to fixing his hair. “That was nice.” He mumbled, finding his hand, toying and feeling the end of her long pigtail, which she wrapped around his hand when she noticed.
An hour had passed until she was done with his hair, giving him a small handheld mirror. “Do you like it?” It had looked the same as it did back in the fright zone. “It’s perfect. Thank you again. You're very cherished.”
“I cherish you too.” She smiled and wrapped him up in a hug with both her hair and her arms. “I am so glad you are back.” She cuddled her face into his chest. “Imagine what we can do together. The things we can learn and create.” Her eyes lit up as she spoke, and Hordak couldn’t help but smile. “Many great things, and I already know the first one.” Hodak's smile turned into a snarky grin.
“You do? What is it?” She backed away slightly, her arms letting go of him but keeping her hair in the same place, expecting them to both get up and head to the lab. “I do, and we can do the trial right now.” He leaned towards her and cupped her face in his hand, he let his thumb brush against her cheek and pressed a soft, loving kiss on her lips. It took her a moment to let it process in her mind, but the second it clicked she kissed back, letting it linger for another minute until he finally pulled away. “It’s perfect.”
