Chapter Text
After an hour of studying in preparation for Medical School Exams, Su decides to reward himself with a junior sized tub of ice cream. As he opens the heavier-than-it-should-be glass doors, he scours the selection on hand. Frowningly, he notes that his favorite flavor of mint chocolate chip is out of stock. Sighs, he must settle for the mid-tier cookies and cream instead.
He continues to browse the selection that he most definitely does not have memorized down to a T after years of coming to this aquatint shop. With a keen eye he notices that the shopkeeper must have moved the candy isle over by a row as he’s face to face with overpriced and generic cat food.
Well it does make sense why it’s so expensive here but really? Five dollars for one can of the Tuna Flaked Fancy Feast dish? Only a crazy and desperate man would even think to pay that price…
After his internal query of economics, he grabs his usual Twix bar and heads to the register. With plastic bags in tow he starts his trek back to his abode.
He hears a small meow coming from a alleyway. Any logical person would stop to wonder if this was a kidnapping scheme considering this days society. Yet the gray haired man chases after his curiosity.
Luckily for him, Su is spared from an unhappy ending as he finds a clean white cat perched on shipping crates. It perks up at him and maintains eye contact.
The eyes, they look like…
He shakes his head and quickly shoves that thought down as soon as it came to be. “such nonsense” he scolds himself. Yet deep down he truly does miss his best friend.
The cat doesn’t seem to want to move but Su couldn’t leave this poor thing by itself considering the upcoming rainstorm approaching the city.
After a few attempts of calling for the cat, whistling, and other various methods Su realizes that these methods would be better suited for a dog. He ponders and comes to another idea.
He buys the stupidly overpriced cat food and leaves a trail of it little by little into his apartment.
Surprisingly enough, five dollars broker Su finally enters his apartment complex with the feline following closely in tow. He leans and slides down against the door given the fact that this future doctor was worn out from a days work of being a catnapper. His ice cream now forgotten starts to leak out of its container but that’s a problem for future Su to worry about.
As he falls asleep with his school uniform on while looking at the cat, he cant help but drift off while thinking of a certain white haired boy. Though, he would ever admit that…
