Readers pov
As I arrived at the Bantha Rodeo I saw my friends Commanders Wolffe, Fox and Cody and Captain Rex standing outside waiting for me. “Hey guys! So why are we here instead of our usual bar?” I said as I walked up to them. “One of Rex’s boys has some big bets with some of ours so we’re here to make sure that they don’t get into too much trouble.” Wolffe responded looking annoyed after they all said hello. As we walked in it was obvious that either there were a lot of people involved in this bet or that this place was pretty popular with the clones. When I told the boys what I thought Rex said that it was both. “So do you boys have any bets on this? Also what even is the bet about?” I asked. This time it was Fox who answered me. “We all have bets on this other than Rex. And the bet is on how long we think Jesse, he’s one of the ARC troopers, can stay on the mechanical bantha.” As soon as Fox finished with what he was saying most of the clones started moving towards the mechanical bantha in the middle of the room. We all started moving closer and because of the fact that our group had three commanders and a captain in it we got to the front of the crowd. As I look up I see a clone with the galactic republic cog tattooed on his face. He's also dressed in a full cowboy outfit hat and all. He looks over and notices me surrounded by the boys and tips his hat and winks at me which causes me to blush. After that the mechanical bantha starts moving, speeding up every few seconds. After a little longer of him just sitting there riding the bantha he stands up on it as it’s going and starts moving around on it and doing jumps and other tricks on it. The crowd starts cheering loudly at that with me joining them. “Little show off.” I heard Rex mumble beside me which caused me to laugh. As Jesse keeps on going for even longer some of the clones in the crowd start shouting random things at him to try and get him to fall so that they'll win. “He better last for the three minutes we bet on.” I heard Cody say from my other side. “Well he's already at two and a half minutes I think he’ll make it.'' I said back to Cody. As the last thirty seconds were almost up Wolffe, Fox, and Cody started shouting at him to and right at the three minute mark he fell. The boys started cheering in victory. As Jesse got up I realised that his hat fell onto the ground at my feet. “Hey! Wait, you dropped this!” I yelled at him. Jesse turned around and looked me up and down and said “keep it.” As he started walking away I felt the boys dragging me to a booth. When we got there we ordered ourselves drinks and started talking about what we missed in each other's lives while Wolffe, Rex, and Cody were off on missions. After a few minutes our drinks got there and as they started drinking the boys started teasing me about the hat i was still holding with Rex even putting it on my head. -time skip a few hours and 3 drinks later- Me and the boys finally had enough catching up and joking around and we all moved to the dance floor. When we got over there the song Save s Horse (Ride a Cowboy) came on and we all started dancing. The boys got pulled away by some girls leaving me alone in the middle of the floor but I just kept dancing and as I did I felt someone come up behind me and start dancing with me. When I turned around it was Jesse which caused me to blush and him to laugh. “Hi I’m (reader) you lo-did great earlier.” I told him as we kept dancing. “Thanks I'm Jesse by the way though you probably knew that.” he responded. We danced together until the song ended and he grabbed my hand and brought me over to where he was sitting. “You know I don't just let anyone have and wear my hat.” he said when we sat down. “Well clearly i'm not just anyone.'' I responded sensing the flirty tone in his voice. “My boys seem to think very highly of you.” “Your boys?” he asked. “Commanders Wolffe, Fox and Cody and Captain Rex. Obviously Rex is your CO but the other boys bets on you show that they believe in you. Plus they wouldn’t have let you bring me over here if they didn’t trust you.” I say as I point at the boys who all quickly look away from us. “Your boys are very high up aren’t they. So tell me more about yourself.” Jesse responded. -another time skip this is just them getting to know each other- Out of the corner of my eye I see my boys approaching us. “Sorry you two but the 501st has been called back off for a mission we have to leave now.” Rex said, grabbing Jesse. “Before I go (reader) will you go on a date with me when we get back?” Jesse asked, looking hopeful. “ ”Of course I will.'' I said as I leaned up and kissed his cheek.
