Chapter Text

You've got to press it on you

You just think it

That's what you do baby

Hold it down there

Jump with them all and move it

Jump back and forth

And feel like you were there yourself

To work it out

Suddenly, the bus stops, and you glance out the window, not bothering to take out your earbuds. It must be your stop.

You wait for everyone in front of you to get off the bus, then you also get out.

It was finally the weekend. This is when you were able to have a little time to yourself, maybe go to the music store or the park. A time to get away from the stress of school and the annoying nature of your sisters. Luckily, both of your younger sisters had clubs and your older sister was out with friends.

Dad knew that you always went somewhere after school on Friday, so you didn't even have to ask him to go.

You begin walking towards the park, your intentions to practice your guitar or draw. To your expectations, you arrive smoothly. You find an empty bench and pull out your sketchbook, beginning to doodle random people.

It was at this point that your songs had all played and began repeating themselves. DARE played again, so you decided to turn the person you were drawing into the girl from the video. You never knew her name, your older sister had showed you the video for DARE a few weeks ago when it first came out. You liked it, so you added it to your playlist.

As you were almost finished with your drawing, you get a text from Dad. Crap, I need to go home, you think, not thinking about your sketchbook. You begin to swiftly walk home, as Dad was beginning to become worried about you.

"Where were you?" Dad asks as you walk through the door.

"The park," You reply, "I was drawing."

"Oh, cool. Can I see?" He asks.

"Sure," You reply, looking in your bag. Your face turned pale as a chill washed over you.

You couldn't find your sketchbook.

Without saying a word, you rush out the door, heading to the park. You just couldn't bear your sketchbook being unsupervised, especially in a public place.

You finally arrive at the park and sit down on a bench to catch your breath. You scan the park to see which bench you presumably left your sketchbook on. You don't see where you left it, so you begin to wonder if someone took it. That's when something, or someone caught your eye.

A girl, who seemed to be your age, was standing at a near bench, holding a sketchbook. She seemed to be looking at it.

She had your missing sketchbook.

You walk over to the girl with your sketchbook. You notice that she is looking at the picture you drew earlier that day.

"Hey uh, that's my sketchbook and I've been looking for it for a while, do you mind letting me have it back?" You ask her. The girl is startled by your presence and jumps at the sound of your voice.

"Can I keep this drawing?" She says, referencing the picture she was looking at earlier. You look at your picture, then the girl. You notice a lot of similarities between the two, but think nothing of it in the moment.

"Thats fine," You reply. She smiles and carefully tears out the picture. She then folds it up into eights, then shoves it into her pocket.

As she begins to walk away, you find yourself in a weird state. Even though yo barely know this girl, you find yourself wanting to be around her. So you stopped her.

"What is it?" She asks. Her voice had a slight Japanese accent. You begin to recognize her, but you still can't lay your finger on who exactly it is.

"Oh um, I was wondering if I could get your number," You say, fearing that she was going to make fun of you or think that you were too clingy.

"Of course!" She says, handing you her phone. You do the same, and you both enter your numbers. You set the contact name as Sketchbook Ownder, given that she doesn't know your name yet. You figured that she could probably guess who it was.

"Thanks," You tell her, flashing her a small smile.

"You're welcome," She replies. She then proceedes to walk off.

You then recieve a text. You quickly check it in hopes that it's the park girl. Nope. It's Dad, and he doesn't exactly seem to be happy with you.

You sprint back home, not wanting your Dad to be mad at you.

You step through the door, and he is standing right there.

"What was that about, y/n?" He asks sternly.

"I-I forgot my sketchbook at the park," You stutter.

"Next time you pull a stunt like that, you better at least tell me first," He says.

"I'm sorry," You say. He puts a hand on your shoulder.

"It's okay, just please don't do that again. You know I love you and I'm worried about your safety," He says, looking you in the eyes.

"I won't do it again," You promise him. He pulls you into a hug.

As soon as he lets you go, you go up to your room. You were in the process of learning how to play the guitar part on Feel Good Inc, as your older sister could play it on bass. You didn't really want to, but she was the one who introduced you to Gorillaz in the first place, and you wanted to do her a favor or two in return.

You picked up your guitar and opened YouTube on your phone. You had found a cover of someone playing exactly what you wanted to learn, so you just listen to that as a refresher and copy what the person in the video does.

You tried and tried for about 16 minutes when you get a text. Noodle is the name of the contact. You didn't recognize it at first, but then you realized.

This girl who you met at the park was Noodle. Noodle from Gorillaz. She wanted the picture you drew because it was of her.
