Scent

Summary:

Viktor couldn’t help smiling to himself as he walked down the halls of the literature building to his office. He’d been wary of hiring an escort, of all things, to soothe his touch-starved alpha, but he had to admit, Chris was right: it had been just what he needed. He wasn’t sure what he’d been expecting, really, but he’d certainly not expected anything, anyone as amazing as Yuuri.

Notes:

For the cutest cookie, who's been waiting for an update to this series for way too long! I hope you like it :D

Work Text:

Viktor couldn’t help smiling to himself as he walked down the halls of the literature building to his office. He’d been wary of hiring an escort, of all things, to soothe his touch-starved alpha, but he had to admit, Chris was right: it had been just what he needed. He wasn’t sure what he’d been expecting, really, but he’d certainly not expected anything, anyone as amazing as Yuuri. He was glad Makkachin had distracted him and Yuuri both when he’d opened his door and nearly been struck speechless by the gorgeous omega in front of him. Makka had continued to break the ice, softening Viktor’s fear of being scoffed at for wanting a quiet night in and cuddling instead of a fancy date and a wild romp between the sheets, letting Viktor and Yuuri both relax by focusing their attention on her instead of each other.

Yuuri had soon been tucked under Viktor’s arm, blanketed in Viktor’s scent, though the sterile lack of Yuuri’s beneath it was a little bothersome. Unfortunately, the omega was also soon blanketed in Makkachin’s hair. Viktor had, of course, put his foot in his mouth by suggesting Yuuri get more comfortable, but thankfully, Yuuri laughed it off and graciously accepted the offer of more casual clothes. When Yuuri walked out of the hall bath in Viktor’s sweats and t-shirt, a bit too big for his slender frame, Viktor’s mouth had gone dry and he’d had to unstick his tongue from his palate. Yuuri looked so cozy and warm and right in Viktor’s clothes. And he’d clearly washed off his scent blockers, since a lovely whiff of warm vanilla reached Viktor’s nose just before Yuuri made it back to the couch.

They'd chatted and laughed and half-watched a horror flick while eating pizza and drinking wine and showering Makkachin in attention. Before long, Viktor had adjusted them, gently shooing Makka off the couch so he could stretch out, bringing a willing Yuuri to cuddle against his chest. He still missed most of the movie, concentrating on the lovely omega in his arms, on Yuuri’s soft skin, his silky hair, and the contented omega pheromones underlying his warm vanilla scent. Yuuri seemed to startle himself and Viktor both by letting out a soft purr but quickly settled down as Viktor rumbled in response, his alpha sated and happy.

The next thing Viktor had known was Makkachin softly whining at him. He’d blinked open bleary eyes to find Yuuri still in his arms, still sleeping soundly in the early morning sunlight. Viktor had been tempted to close his eyes and stay snuggled up with Yuuri, but Makka was insistent - it was past time for their usual morning walk. He’d gently woken the omega resting against him, suppressing his squeal at just how cute an even softer, sweeter, sleepy Yuuri was. Viktor smiled at him fondly, smoothing down his fluffy hair and caressing his cheek, watching as Yuuri snuggled right back into the couch after Viktor extracted himself, inhaling deeply as he hugged Viktor’s pillow, before setting off with Makkachin.

Viktor had been in a fantastic mood, having slept better blanketed by Yuuri on the couch than he had in his king-sized bed in months. No wonder, really - Yuuri was perfect, his pheromones compatible with Viktor’s own, his soft skin and scent soothing Viktor’s alpha down to his core. Viktor had been relieved his requests hadn’t been flat-out rejected but hadn’t thought Yuuri would slot right into place like a missing puzzle piece. After she’d done her business, he guided Makka on a detour from their usual route, swinging by the small grocery a few blocks over - Yuuri deserved a much better breakfast than the toast and tea Viktor had in his flat, after all. Careful not to wake Yuuri, he set to work making syrniki when they got back.

Yuuri had soon woken anyway, coming over to lean against Viktor for a moment before stumbling toward the bathroom. Yuuri was clearly not a morning person, but he slowly woke over breakfast, which he ate appreciatively while instinctively indulging Viktor’s need for touch by staying cuddled up to his side as they sat at the island largely in companionable silence…or perhaps Yuuri was simply too groggy to stay upright on his own. Either way, Viktor and his alpha were happy as could be caring for the omega tucked under his arm, spoiling him with the best bites of breakfast, not letting him lift a finger.

Viktor had found himself a little nervous, afraid to break the spell that had been cast over them, but Yuuri was looking more and more awake with every moment. He’d had a fantastic time with the sweet omega and didn’t want it to end. Even though all signs had pointed to Yuuri having a good time, too, Viktor was relieved to hear him say it, and ecstatic when he agreed to meet again the next weekend. Sadly, Yuuri had had to leave shortly thereafter, blushing prettily as Viktor insisted he could wear his clothes home, Viktor’s alpha mourning the loss of the omega even as he preened in triumph at the thought of him going home swimming in his scent.

Even now, a few days later, having just confirmed his plans for the coming weekend with Yuuri via the escort service’s messaging app, Viktor couldn’t believe he’d gotten so lucky. Yuuri was absolutely amazing. He was so sweet and kind, he loved dogs and Makkachin loved him - Viktor was even now surprised she’d been so excited to see the omega that she’d bowled him over at first sight. He was gorgeous, with big brown eyes and fluffy black hair, a lovely figure that fit perfectly against Viktor and a delectable, incredibly compatible scent. Viktor could swear he still smelled Yuuri’s sweet vanilla scent…but he shook his head to clear it of the notion, grinning goofily. It was long gone from his skin, though he was happy that traces still remained on his throw pillow and blanket on his couch. If all went according to plan, that lovely scent would soon saturate his skin and his space again in just a few days.

Still lost in thoughts of Yuuri, Viktor reached his office, unlocking the door, sitting at his desk. He shuffled the stack of papers awaiting review in front of him, trying to concentrate on reading them to give them a fair grade. He soon gave up, resting his chin on his hand as he stared out the window, eyes glossing over the unassuming student scurrying along the sidewalk in favor of the lovely omega in his mind. He just couldn’t wait to see Yuuri again. He sighed, happily for once, then straightened and turned his attention to the papers in front of him once more.
