Ji Xiangkong was the one who noticed it first . He saw how Cai Ding got more clingy and sensitive and the alpha brushed it off for something momentary , willing himself to not think about things that would get him smacked by his lovely yet fierce omega . No matter what , however , Ji Xiangkong's mind always wandered to the place it shouldn't and the sudden mix of milky undertone in Cai Ding's usual floral scent did nothing to help him .
Just an inhale of his boyfriend's intoxicating scent as they cuddled made Ji Xiangkong feel feral , his mind conjuring up the pictures of a round Cai Ding in soft , large sweaters, pregnant with the alpha's child and smelling like floral milk. The domestic picture that his thoughts painted would always become too much for the alpha and he'd pull Cai Ding closer till there would be no more space left between them , something akin to want twinging in Ji Xiangkong's chest .
Despite the sudden changes in Cai Ding and his own unbearable want for having a family with the omega , Ji Xiangkong never talked to Cai Ding about it . No matter how many times the alpha's senses tingled whenever his omega complained about a strange unease , Ji Xiangkong pushed down the urge to question , because, Cai Ding would've told him . His omega would have told him if he was pregnant . There was no way in the world Cai Ding wouldn't know about his own pregnancy , right ?
It turns out that Cai Ding- much to the omega's horror and Ji Xiangkong's amusement - indeed didn't realise he was pregnant until the fateful day when he had a rather bad case of nausea . The omega had retched for 4 times in past 3 hours , his eyes tearing up from frustration and pain , when Ji Xiangkong finally brought it up. The omega had looked at him incredulously at first - as if Ji Xiangkong was insane for even thinking about it - but then Cai Ding's eyes widened as he sat up straight , as stiff as a rod .
Ji Xiangkong remembers pulling the pale omega on his lap , cradling him gently and pressing soft yet firm kisses from his forehead, moving down to his nose and cheeks , a nip at the chin before finally pressing against the soft lips . The alpha remembers rubbing up and down Cai Ding's back as the omega hiccuped out how he had forgotten to take the birth control pill during the last he spent with Ji Xiangkong . The alpha also remembers reassuring the omega that it was ok , that he'd love to have a child with Cai Ding , that he won't mind having a family with the most prettiest , the most lovliest , the bestest omega on this Earth .
Ji Xiangkong remembers holding his nervous omega's hand as they made their way towards the nearest pharmacy , buying a pregnancy kit to confirm the suspicions . The alpha remembers pacing in front of the bathroom nervously , waiting for Cai Ding to come out , so on edge that every sound made him jump , full on alert . He had never felt this nervous ever in his life, not even before a big gaming match. Ji Xiangkong remembers being tackled into a hug five minutes later as his omega confirm that yes, yes he was pregnant.
The alpha remembers sharing tearful kisses and cuddles . He remembers going to bed with a content smile , hugging Cai Ding closer, hand resting low on his omega's belly . Ji Xiangkong remembers rubbing the place where his child was growing softly , running circles on the soft skin as Cai Ding let out sleepy giggles . Oh, he remembers being the happiest alpha ever on this whole universe . He still is, oh, how can he not be when he cradles his world to sleep every night and wake up with it being in his arms every morning.
It's been a week since they found out that Cai Ding was pregnant. It's also been a week since the omega had been vocal about his needs to be cuddled or kissed or fucked and Ji Xiangkong loved it. The alpha would be live streaming with his friends when his omega would suddenly appear, wearing the softest sweater in his possession, and demanding of kisses with a cute high pitched whine of " Kong-ge " . Cai Ding would climb into his lap, burrowing into the alpha's neck until Ji Xiangkong's arms wrapped around him securely with the stupidest smile on his face, live stream forgotten a long time ago.
Now here they were, Ji Xiangkong sitting on the long couch in their shared apartment with his lap full of pouty and whiny cuddle hungry omega who had taken away the alpha's phone for the time being. Ji Xiangkong's chest rumbles with laughter as he buries his nose in Cai Ding's scent gland. He never thought he would love the fragrance of flowers and milk to the extent of being intoxicated, addicted to the alluring scent that belongs to his omega only. Cai Ding pulls back a little from their embrace and Ji Xiangkong takes in his omega's bright eyes swimming with nervousness .
Cai Ding had something he wanted to discuss with the alpha and he was nervous about it and that wasn't acceptable, Ji Xiangkong's omega, the mother of his child ( children? Ji Xiangkong hopes it's children, a set of twins so he can have a baby girl to dress up and a baby boy whom he can teach how to play games) should never be nervous talking to him. So, the alpha chooses the best course of action to loosen up his omega. He leaned forward till their noses almost touched, rubbing them together lightly as Cai Ding giggled before pulling back a little and nipping the cute button nose , laughing as it scrunched up in disgust.
" What's going on in your pretty little head, A-Ding? " , Ji Xiangkong asks, helplessly endeared with how Cai Ding was rubbing his nose with a sweater paw. A pout prominent on his lips and the alpha resisted the urge to nibble on that cute nose again, " Or you want me to sniff out what's troubling you like I sniffed out that you were pregnant even before you knew it yourself " , the alpha dodges a weakly aimed punch at his face, smiling so hard that it hurts before continuing, " You sure your don't want me to ? I have a perfectly working nose unlike you " , now , Ji Xiangkong knew he was being mean but the hit he received on his head was worth it as he felt the omega in his arms relaxing.
Cai Ding whined , tucking his head back into the alpha's neck , giving out a mumble muffled into Ji Xiangkong's skin. The alpha circles his arms around Cai Ding's waist as he pulls the pouty man closer - tighter against himself . The gamer's one hand sneaks under Cai Ding's large sweater to rub comfortingly on the soft skin of his back, fingers tracing each and every knob of Cai Dings spine , and the omega shivered, a pleasured purr leaving his throat without permission.
" A-Ding " , Ji Xiangkong tries again , " Look at me baobao "
Cai Ding just makes an angry sound from where his face is cradled against Ji Xiangkong's neck before pulling back with a frustrated pout and furrowed brows and Ji Xiangkong can't help but pull him down for a kiss until both of them are left breathless . " I can't believe you thought of it before me !! " , Cai Ding whines , " I can't believe you realised I am pregnant even before I did !! " , he hits Ji Xiangkong as his boyfriend laughs at him . The alpha can't help it and even though he will never let the omega live it down, Ji Xiangkong can't help but fall a little more for the omega .
The assault of bunny punches on his shoulders, however, only make the alpha laugh harder because he was happy and he knew his omega was happy too . His warm scent of rain forest tinged with sandalwood mixing with his omega's milky floral scent. They bask in each other for a while before Ji Xiangkong decides it's the time to talk, " A-Ding " , he whispers into Cai Ding's hair , a smile playing on his lips as the omega gave a contended hum, " Tell me baobao, tell this alpha of yours what's troubling you? " , the alpha completes, releasing soothing pheromones in case his omega feels unsettled.
Ji Xiangkong looks at Cai Ding as the omega plays with his sweater paws. Not meeting the alpha's eyed, the omega mumbled, " We haven't told my mom about this yet " , his voice barely above a whisper and Ji Xiangkong straightens , sitting as stiff as a rod, startling the omega on his lap in process. Cai Ding looks at him worriedly, his small hands coming up to cradle the alpha's face and Ji Xiangkong would have tackled his omega right then and there for looking so adorable if panic hadn't been coursing through his whole being.
They forgot to tell Madam Cai that Cai Ding is pregnant with his child. Pregnant with his child out of a wedlock and they still haven't mated yet . He have met his omega's mother only a handful of times but they were enough for Ji Xiangkong to know that he was in for a big trouble because madam Cai definitely won't be happy with him. A wild thought enters his mind and Ji Xiangkong's hands tighten around Cai Ding's waist. What if she asks him to separate from his omega ? He won't be able to bear that -
The alpha is snapped out of his daze when he feels soft lips land on his own chapped ones and he kisses the omega back with fervor, pouring his all into it as he cradles his omega with all the softness he could muster. Hands running all over Cai Ding as to memorise the feel of omega in his arms . " I love you " , the words that leave the alpha are something desperate, something fragile and Cai Ding's eyes widen at the sudden confession before he smiles brightly, cheeks bunching up to show two cute dimples and he whispers , " I love you too Kong-ge " , a light peck on his lips and the alpha chases after it, " I would love you always, after all you are my alpha aren't you? "
Cai Ding's words are so sincere and smile so bright that Ji Xiangkong can't help the curling up of his own lips . " Don't worry Kong-ge " , the omega says, " I will be there with you, I will be there when you talk with ma, it will be ok " , his voice so soft and warm and full of sincerity that the alpha kisses him once , twice, thrice and more. Kisses him again and again because yes, it will be ok because he has his omega by his side, because he will do anything to keep Cai Ding and their unborn child no matter what .
They decide that they will talk to Madam Cai that weekend . Cai Ding climbs out of Ji Xiangkong's lap and the alpha groans , standing up to stretch his limbs after sitting for a long time . They follow their usual routine, Cai Ding cooking up delicious food as Ji Xiangkong clings onto him , and if the alpha's grip is a bit tighter on his omega's hips, they don't talk about it . The dinner is followed by cuddling on the bed which somehow evolves into a very messy pillow fight and with that all the worries about Madam Cai fly right out of Ji Xiangkong's mind as he spoons his omega that night, dreaming about kids running around them as they smile at each other, happily married and mated for years.
The week passes in a blur and finally, the doomsday comes. Ji Xiangkong wakes up with jitters that week end, dark circles under his eyes due to insufficient sleep the night before. The alpha climbs out of bed jerkily before making a bee line towards the kitchen where Cai Ding was making their breakfast . Ji Xiangkong clings to his omega's back, inhaling a lungful of the soothing scent and Cai Ding let's him instead of whining playfully like he usually does.
They eat breakfast in silence, the omega holding his alpha's hand all the time before they dissolve into their usual banter and Ji Xiangkong could almost forget that he is supposed to meet Madam Cai today . The alpha hoped for Cai Ding to forget it too, so of course, the omega doesn't. Enjoying Ji Xiangkong's misery as he pushes the alpha towards bathroom to get ready with a, " My ma isn't a monster Kong-ge, she won't hurt you, at least not in a too damaging way " , he says that as if it's supposed to relieve the alpha when it does the exact opposite.
They lock into a staring match until Ji Xiangkong sighs, backing into the bathroom grumbling about how cruel his omega is. His pout just gets bigger and bigger as Cai Ding's laughter reaches his ears. The alpha turns on the shower with only one thought in mind .
I hope mama Cai has mercy on me .
