Chapter Text
Atsumu found himself unable to fall asleep. He had been invited to one of the top training camps of the summer, and he knew that he would be surrounded by individuals who were on a completely different level than him. The more he mulled over it, the more he felt a sense of excitement coursing through him. However, he still found himself awake when his alarm went off. Osamu jolted him out of his thoughts by briefly slapping his arm, and Atsumu realized that he had already overslept and now had only half the time he had planned to get ready. Without any breakfast, he rushed out of the house, hoping to make it on time.
During morning warm-ups, Atsumu scanned the room and observed every person present. One boy, with jet-black hair, caught his attention. Although the boy's yellow shirt and green shorts were an obnoxious color, Atsumu found himself more interested in the boy's face. The boy had a stern look and showed very little emotion, making him seem stone-cold. Atsumu was intrigued by this and wondered what made the boy so special. The boy's clothing was the least important aspect of him. Atsumu was curious about the boy's level of talent.
After their initial practice match, Atsumu found a spot on the floor to sit down and catch his breath. He got a sip of water before taking a few moments to cool down. “Hey Miya-san, you got anything on your mind?” Kageyama said, only after taking a sip from his water bottle.
“Nope, why’d ya ask that Tobio-kun?”
Kageyama set his water bottle aside and directed his attention toward Atsumu. "During the match, you weren’t playing at your best. You seemed to be distracted by something.”
Atsumu shifted his glance from the ground up to Kageyama and flashed a sly grin. "No offense, Tobio-kun, but if you're going to pay attention to others, at least make sure your sets are more precise than they were today. If that's your typical way of setting, I'd have to say your garbage.
“Okay... Thank you for the advice Miya-san.”
After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, Atsumu took the initiative to break the tension. “Hey, Tobio-kun, do ya know who the guy in the yellow shirt is?” Atsumu asked, pointing at the boy who stood a few feet across from them.
“Hm, you mean Sakusa-san?”
“Yeah, have ya already talked with him.”
Kageyama simply shrugged his shoulders and replied, “No, not really. He only came to my table once while I was eating and asked about my team's win against Ushijima. As far as I know, he currently holds the title of top ace.”
“Well, then ima take a guess and say that title has had something to do with their setter because his spikes were pretty sloppy.”
“You have quite an eye for error, don’t you Miya-san.”
“I guess you could say that.” Atsumu shrugged. It's true that he tends to observe people and mostly pays attention to their mistakes, but he doesn't see it as a negative trait.
“ Well, I’m going to the bathroom I’ll see you later Miya-san”
"See you later, Tobio-kun... Sakusa, huh? What a plain name for such an interesting-looking guy," murmured Atsumu.
***
Atsumu, Kageyama, and their friend were silently competing to see who could eat their dinner the fastest. Suddenly, two individuals approached their table. "Hello, you must be Miya and… uh.”
Before Komori could keep talking, the guy sitting with Atsumu and Kageyama was being called by a group of boys.“Oh uh sorry, but I have to go goodbye Kageyama and Miya.”
“Bye.”
“Bye I'll talk to you later,” Kageyama stopped eating and said, also giving the boy a small wave before going back to stuffing his face with rice.
“Ahh oh well nice to meet you two I’m Komori and this is my cousin Sakusa we’ve met before Kageyama.”
“Hi Komori and Sakusa-san.” He stopped once again before going back to eating.
“Nice to meet ya too.”Atsumu gave them both a soft smile and a weak hand wave.
“DONE!” Kageyama said, putting down his bole.
“Eh hey, that’s not fair I thought we’d paused when they got here.”
“Well, we never said we did so it’s a fair win.”
“Yeah right anyways do ya guys need something.”
“Could we sit with you?” Komori asked pointing at the two empty chairs
“Yeah definitely,” Atsumu said, gesturing for them to sit down.
“Miya you're from Inazakiri high am I right?” Komori asked.
“Yeah, I am why’d ya ask?”
“You know Aran Ojiro pretty well then can you tell us anything about his technique when playing?”
“Pft now why would I tell ya anything about my team that would just be stupid.”
“Is he really better than Wakatoshi or do people just think he is.”Sakusa blurred out.
“Hm I couldn’t really tell ya but id have to say that if he’s in the top it’s definitely for a reason,” Atsumu said a little annoyed by Sakusa’s question.
“How about you arent you the number one setter right now? What's so special about you?”Sakusa said he didn’t mean to sound as snarky as he did but that’s just how his tone of voice made it sound.
“Hm, I guess you’ll just have to figure that out, Sakusa.” Atsumu got up and picked up his tray, turning to look at Kageyama.”I’ll see ya tomorrow then Tobio-kun make sure you get rest because you were sloppy as shit today.”
“Bye Miya-san.”Atsumu left annoyed by Sakusa’s question.
“So is he always like that or does he just not like us,” Komori asked as he played with his food.
“I don’t really know he acts differently with a lot of people at least that’s what I’ve noticed so far.”
“You’ve played with him, how would you say his technique is?”
“Hm I would have to say that he makes everything pretty easy for you but I’m guessing that takes more work than you can think of anyways I’m going to head to the shower I’ll catch you guys tomorrow.”
“Bye Kageyama.”
“Bye.” Both boys waved him goodbye and waited for him to fully exit the cafeteria before talking
“SO now that I did what I could to get you to talk to him EVEN though all I think you did was insult him you owe me my part of the deal.”
“Ugh shut up… do you really think I offended him that much.”
“Oh, I don’t think so I know so especially when you said and I quote “what’s so special about you?” is the worst thing I think you said about him.”
“You aren’t helping Komori.”
“I know I’m not that’s why I’m telling you all this Lil cuz,” Komori said with a grin as he took half of Sakusa’s dinner.
“Mmm, I didn’t mean to come off as rude I swear,” Sakusa said as he started to sulk.
Komori rolled his eyes and patted Sakusa pack as he said to him” Look there’s still time for you to get to know him and I’m sure you guys just have to get to know each other a little more and you’ll be the best of buddies in no time.”
“You make it sound so easy what if he still doesn’t like me after that.”
“Well then let’s start hoping this stays a small crush because I don’t wanna have to hear your sulking at home AND school.”
***
Atsumu was already at the gym stretching and getting some early practice before anyone got there he didn’t think anyone there would still have the energy to get up extra early just to go to the gym for extra practice but of course, he guessed wrong once again as the ball he was practicing slammed the floor hard he heard the gym door open and he saw a black-haired boy walk-in they made eye contact and stared at each other for a few seconds before everting their gaze from each other.
“I didn’t think anyone would be here this early in the morning,” Sakusa said placing down his gym bag.
“I didn’t think anyone would come here this early either.” Atsumu couldn’t tell if it was awkward or he just felt uncomfortable around Sakus but there was some kind of feeling in him that made him anxious to be alone with Sakusa “We don’t have to practice together we can just choose a side of the gym and stay there.
“Oh okay, I wasn’t planning on practicing with you anyways.” Sakusa started to practice by himself once he got a ball and all he could focus on was Atsumu almost the whole time they made short eye contact with each other from time to time he was stuck in his thought for most of the time though.
(“Just great Sakusa you managed to be rude once again ugh this is so awkward once again.”)Sakusa said in his mind.
It was already lunch and Atsumu was lost in his thought all he could think of was the way Sakusa looked like when he lifted up his shirt to wipe his forehead it was a sight for sore eyes something Atsumu wished he could have a picture of forever.
“Hello, earth to Miya-san what are you thinking about?”Kageyama shouted as he sat down.
Atsumu was snapped out of his thoughts just then “Nothing too important what’s up Tobio-kun!”
Kageyama slowly nodded as he sat down“Right, that’s why your definitely not spacing out so often lately ill leave it be for now.”
“Anyways, do ya wanna start warming up before everyone gets there.”
“Yeah come on.”
Wednesday and Thursday went by fast with little to no conversation between Atsumu and Sakusa it’s not like Sakusa didn’t try talking to Atsumu but it seemed like he was avoiding him constantly at practice at lunch Sakusa found that there was never really a perfect moment to talk to him because Atsumu always found a way to avoid him he would make up excuses or situations if he had to Sakusa didn’t feel hurt at first but as the lies became less believable he started to feel like Atsumu just really didn’t like him so he started to avoid him too unless something necessary happened.
“Hey cuz what are you doing right now-oh staring at Miya arent we now,” Komori said as he sat down next to Sakusa nudging him by the shoulder teasing him. “Hey, cuz are you even listening to me.”
“Huh oh hey sorry I was just lost in my thoughts.”
“Mhm thoughts about Miya~.”
“Shut up didn’t you call Inazakires middle blocker and libero hot you have no room to talk.”
“Your right and maybe I should tell you now if you cant get little Miya over there he has a twin brother that also plays volleyball they go to the same school.”Komori rested his chin on the top of his hand leaning in and poking Sakusa on the nose.
“Stop just stop talking, in general, there’s no point we all know how twins are they look the same and act completely different,” Sakusa said swatting Kimoris hand off of his face.
“Oo~ so your not going after looks this time that’s good!”
“It’s not like he’s gonna like me back he’s been avoiding me ever since we talked to them at dinner.”
“Don’t say that cuz there’s always a chance that he’ll like you back of course I think it’s a small one but it’s a chance.”
“I’m leaving you’re just mocking me now.”
“Ah, I’m just joking with you little cuz so you got any plans to make a move on him.”
“I’ve decided there is no point in trying he simply doesn’t like me and he’s shown that to me in every way he can think of.
“Your such a downer cuz you’ve barely just started to get to know him and suddenly you wanna give up after three days.”
“It’s not that easy Motoya I can’t just go up to him.”
“Well of course you can you just lack the confidence too and that’s why you can never get your way with things.”
“What do you suggest I do to fix that?”
“How about we start with a simple hey or hello right now right here just go up to him.”
“Fine but can you just-.”Sakusa stood up and looked over at Atsumu then back at Komori.
“Come with you, yeah no you have to do this on your own buddy I can’t hold your hand forever cuz.”
“Alright just give me a moment to prepare myself,” Sakusa said as he stood up and let out a nervous sigh
“You don’t need a moment, you just need a small push~ cuz.” That's exactly what Komori did he pushed Sakusa once he saw Atsumu nearing them
“MOTOYA YOU SON OF A BITCH”!” Sakusa bumped into Atsumu just as he was walking towards his table.”Uh, s-sorry.”
“Ahh, it’s alright.”
Sakusa didn’t know what to what was he supposed to say he was panicking there wasn’t much time left this could be his last chance to get to know Atsumu.”Oh um, I wanted to ask you something a while ago Miya do you think you can set for me after you finish eating.”
“(WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST SAY.)” Sakusa was panicking who the fuck would ask that after almost just pushing someone
“Huh oh yeah sure just wait for me at the gym if I take a while.”
“Alright.” Sakusa walked back to the table where he was sitting earlier and found his cousin with a huge grin about to burst out in laughter.”What’s up with that smug look on your face Motoya.”
“Nothing nothing at all I like how straight to the point you were.”
“Whatever what’s the next step.”
“Simple all you have to do now is talk to him.”
“That’s it nothing else anything in general or specific.”
“Nope just talk to him.”
“Aren't you just the greatest wingman.”
“I know I am now finish eating so you can play with Mr.pretty boy over there!”
“Okay.”
Sakus sat down on the cold gym floor and leaned on the wall as he waited for Atsumu to come after a few minutes of waiting he decided to pull out his phone and listen to music five songs went by and Atsumu was still nowhere to be seen he wasn’t surprised that Atsumu didn’t show up it was less likely that he did from the start maybe he just said yes out of pity no Atsumu didn’t seem like the type to have pity for others.
“Just what am I doing it’s just a stupid crush Sakusa there’s nothing special to it but here I am sitting on the gym floor waiting for him to come so that I can exchange a few dull words with him then never speak again gosh saying it out loud just lets me know how much of a fool I really am.” Sakusa slowly stood up and started his way back to his room. The moon was already out and he started to walk slower to enjoy the cool breeze. He looked at the sky and got lost in his thoughts until he bumped into something or more like someone.
“AH, Sakusa I’m so sorry I felt like I was forgetting something, and then Kageyama reminded me that I was supposed to come meet up with ya before I took a bath so I ran here as fast I could I’m so sorry I didn’t mean ta.”
“It’s fine we should head back though tomorrow is the last day we’re here anyway.”
“Right, do ya maybe want me to set for ya in the morning.”
“Only if your up for it.”
“Alright, ya gonna take a bath, or are ya skipping that for today.”
“I have to sadly say I’m taking a bath why.”
“No reason let’s go then.”
“I thought you already took a bath?”
“No, I told ya I ran here before I could get in the bath.”
“Oh right let’s go then.”
Atsumu sat down and relaxed as he got used to the water temperature Sakusa didn’t know whether to sit near him or across him there wasn’t really much space so he just decided to sit near him.
“Ah, doesn't this feel relaxing? It's so nice and quiet no one trying to drown you while you bathe.”
“People actually do that?”
“Oh, you’d be surprised at the number of times people have done that to each other.” Atsumu opened his eyes and looked over at Sakusa.”Hey, how come ya don’t ever bathe with other people around are ya shy.”
“No, I just don’t like showering with others never really have.”
“Interesting...we should hurry, they're gonna want us in bed soon.”
Sakusa stepped into his room and was jumped on by his cousin.”So how did it go? What happened? Were you able to finally get laid!”
“Dang calm down Motoya, not everyone is a horny bastard like you.”
“You can’t blame me when we’re literally surrounded by all these good-looking people.”
“I don’t wanna hear that from someone who once said I had real dilf potential while I was in middle school.”
“There’s still time cuz you can still become the greatest dilf anyone has ever seen if you just listen to me.”
“Right because that's just my biggest dream in life.”
“Ugh you're such a downer, let's just go to sleep before you infect me with your boringness.”
“Just get the fuck off of me Komori.”
“Yeah yeah come on let’s go to bed.”
***
Atsumu had gotten up earlier than usual he was bored and there was still time before he and Sakusa had to meet up he had to admit that in the last few days of observing Sakusa he was way more interesting than Atsumu thought he was gonna be but he still hadn’t had a full conversation and time was going faster than he expected it to go and there was still so much for him to learn about Sakusa he wasn't planning on being his friend or keeping in touch with him but he was curious about Sakusa more than he was about most people he had met before.
“You gonna keep looking at the ceiling oh and do you plan on blinking soon it's starting to creep me out how long you've just had your eyes open for.” Atsumu was startled by the boy's voice. He moved his gaze from the ceiling and looked across the room to see Hoshiumi slowly sitting up and leaning up against the wall.
“What are you doing up this early Hoshiumi?”
“Couldn't sleep.”
“Mm, why not something bothering ya?”
“Can we talk outside actually?”
“Yeah sure.” Atsumu stood up and followed Hoshiumi outside
Atsumu handed Hoshiumi a drink and sat down next to him as he waited for him to say something.“So um I kinda fought with Hirugami before I came here and we didn’t exactly resolve things.”
“Hirugami? Da ya mean your middle blocker?”
“Yeah, how do you not remember him? It hasn't even been that long since you last saw him.”
“Mm didn’t really pay much attention to most of yer team.”
“Of course you didn’t but yeah I go back home tomorrow and I don’t know what I’m going to do to fix things between us.”
“Well if it ain’t too personal can I know what ya two fought about.”
“We kinda got into a fight because I was being childish and I can see that now.”
“Well what exactly happened that made you act that way?”
“It started a few months ago. A girl Hirugamis known for a long time transferred to our school, and well they started hanging out more as time progressed on. I was cool with it since they are long time friend’s and all that, but after a month he started ignoring me almost completely. He alway said he was just too busy to hangout and so I gave him some space, but things started not making any sense after a while. So when I tried talking to him about it at school I started noticing she would always be there next to him. I realized she didn't like me early on. Since she would talked about me behind my back, and she made a ton of shit up about me. I was fine with it or I tried to be. Look I don't expect everyone to like me, but after a while it went from verbal to physical. I've been in two fight these past few months, and these are just the ones that the school has caught me in. She finally pushed my buttons the wrong way when she told me to back off from my own god damn boyfriend, so I pulled him aside during practice and that's when we fought. He called me jealousy and insecure! He said that she was right about me all along. I can't even stand to look at him right now! If I were to see him right now I would kick him in the dick.”
“Woah, that’s a lot to take in, give me a sec to just proses it all.”
“I know, sorry, I just dumped my relationship problems on you.”
“No, it’s completely fine! I’m the one who asked, but I don’t think this is any of your fault Hoshiumi. Have ya ever, um, in the last few months felt like breaking up with him or like ya needed a break from your relationship?”
“No, of course not I love-… I like Hirugami this is just a small stupid fight we’re having; because I’ve been acting jealous and childish. When I have nothing to be jealous of… right?”
“Look I’m not saying this is yer only option, but I think you two should maybe take a break. It doesn’t really sound like you guys are doing well together, and that’s okay! Couples sometimes just need some time apart to figure out things and realize what’s wrong.”
“So, you’re suggesting I break up with him... for a bit.”
“I’m suggesting you guys take a break from each other, and if something does end up happening between them while you’re apart… at least you’ll know that it wasn’t just you being insecure.”
“I’ll think about it, but for now I’m gonna head back in . Talk to you later, thanks Miya.”
“No problem, cya ya .” Atsumu pulled out his phone and looked at the time he had five minutes before he had to be at the gym so he decided to make his way there and get there a few minutes earlier than usual.
***
Atsumu opened the gymnasium’s door and saw Sakusa already waiting for him there just scrolling through his phone with his mask off this was the first time Atsumu had ever really seen Sakusa with his mask fully off and he wasn’t disappointed he took a moment to admire the boys face features.”Hey, Sakusa did I make ya wait too long for me.”
“Not at all. I just got here a few minutes ago actually.”
“Oh alright give me a minute and we can start.”
“Okay.”
“Alright, I’m ready to come on. What do you wanna do first?”
“Mm how about we just do some basic spikes for now.”
“That sounds good to me.”
Time seemed to be going faster than usual and Sakusa tried his best not to waste the short time he had with Sakusa this was the last day they had together before they parted ways for a while and he wasn’t really sure when they were gonna see each other again this was his very last chance to at least become friends with Atsumu and if he could do that then he was ready to really start trying to put in the effort to sway Atsumu.”Hey Sakusa what's yer full name?”
Sakusa jumped and spiked the ball at full force the sound of it slamming on the floor echoed through the gym this was the first time he had hit the ball that hard with that much force since Atsumu and he started practicing he landed back onto the floor and turned to look at Atsumu” Kiyoomi Sakusa.” he said and gave Atsumu a small smile from under his mask.
(“I feel like I’ve heard that name before.”)
“Are you going to set to me or are you just gonna keep staring?”
“Oh uh sorry, I spaced out for a moment!”
“It’s fine just hurry up. We only have a few minutes before we have to go and eat breakfast.”
“Alright, one ball coming right up.”
Sakusa sat down and ate in peace for as long as he could before Motoya came and started barraging him with questions on why he wasn’t there when he woke up and he wasn’t wrong he saw his cousin run to the line and get his breakfast before running to his direction and slamming his tray on the table then started chattering away ask Sakusa all these random questions.
“Come on cuz can’t you just give me a hint of where you where you usually don’t come back this late in the morning,” Motoya said in a whiny voice.
“I was practicing like I always do. I wasn’t doing anything special.”Sakusa moved his gaze from his cousin to Atsumu as he passed by.
“Oh you were practicing with Miya weren’t you did you two ya know.” Touching both tips of his thumb with his index finger to make a circle with his left hand then moving his right hand up to insert his other index finger into the circle he had made earning himself a slap on the back of his head from Sakusa.”Ow, I was just playing but did you?”
“Of course not all he did was set for me.”
“Did you guys at least talk while you practiced or was it just dead silent the whole time?”
“We made small talk from time to time.”
“That’s good you’re making progress, you still have some time before we have to leave and you guys will probably never meet again.”
“Wow, thanks for the encouragement Motoya you’re the best cousin I could ask for.”
“I know I am… were you being sarcastic just now.”
“No, I was being totally serious and not one bit sarcastic with you.”
“Ouch, my feelings have just been deeply hurt by you cuz.”
Atsumu was finishing his last Inarizushi when Hoshiumi came and pulled him outside with no context of why.
“Hoshiumi can ya tell me why ya just came out of nowhere and brought me here?”
“I thought about it and I’m gonna do it.”
“Yer gonna do what… oh are you sure about this.”
“I did a lot of thinking and you're right maybe we just need a break.”
“Alright so you’ve already planned a day and a place right just make sure it’s not too crowded so if things go wrong you don’t cause too much drama-”
“I’m doing it now over the phone.”
“What Hoshiumi are you sure that’s kinda an asshole move to do.”
“I’m sure it’s not like he’s gonna have any time to meet up in person. He doesn't even have time for me at school so I’m doing it over the phone where he can hang up on me but he definitely can’t walk away from me.”
“Okay, I’ll go back inside and give you some privacy.”
“Um, actually I was hoping you could stay here with me while I do it.”
“Oh, don’t ya think I'd be invading your privacy or something.” Atsumu sadi as he awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.
“Not at all I’m a pretty open person and I already told you almost everything. It's not like a little more information could hurt you or me.”
“Alright well if you wanna do it let’s do it now we have fifteen minutes to do this before practice.”
“Okay…”
Hoshiumi took his phone out of his pocket and dialed Hirugami. It took a few seconds for him to pick up, but when he did Atsumu placed his hand over Hoshiumi’s shoulder. Atsumu could feel just how shaky and tense Hoshiumi was. ” Hey, Hoshiumi do you need anything? I’m kinda busy right now.”
“Hirugami, you know I like you, and that the time’s we’ve spent are some of the most special moments I’ve ever had with anyone.” There was a moment of silence from both boys Hirugami decided to break that silence. “Hoshiumi, stop, what are you trying to do right now? Are you about to do what I think you are, because if you are I promise that we-”
Hoshiumi could hear the strain in Hirugami’s voice, but he couldn’t back down from this decision now. He had already made up his mind, and he was going to go through with it . “I think…we should take a break.”
“Hoshiumi, no please no. Don’t do this to me; not like this.”
“It’s the only way I can do this without you ignoring me, or walking away the moment I try and talk to you. I wish I didn’t have to do it like this, but it’s the only way I thought you would listen to me anymore. Even now I didn’t think you’d pick up the phone.”
“You don’t have to do this at all. I promise when you get back we can talk whatevs been bothering you! Please, just don’t do this to me, please.”
Hoshiumi bite his bottom lip trying his best to hold back his tears “I’m sorry, I promise I am, but these last few months we haven’t been us. We haven’t… I haven’t felt the same about us. I need some time to think about how I truly feel about you as of now. ”
“O-okay, how long a week two weeks?”
“As long as I need Hirugami, and I don’t know how long that will be. So I won’t ask you to wait for me because I know you, and you can barely wait to get your food when we go out to eat, ha.”
“Hoshumi, please let’s talk about this when you get back.”
“No, I'm sorry. I have to go practice is about to start. We can still be friends, and I'll still always be here for you. I just can’t love you life before right now, Hirugami. I’m sorry, but I have to say bye now.”
“Bye.” Hoshiumi hung up, and let out a few sobs and tears. Trying the best he could to keep his composer.
“Hoshiumi do ya think you’ll be fine to practice today you can always sit this out.”
“Ha, no, I’m fine let’s go we don’t wanna be late or will have to do extra laps.”
“Okay... come on.”
***
Kageyama ran to the front and yelled at Atsumu to set for him.“Miya-san give it to me!”
“Alright here it comes, Tobio-kun, make sure not to mess up, this is the last point we need to win!”
“I’ll try can’t make any promises though!”
Kageyama thought he could find an empty spot to spike the ball at but it seemed like every spot he looked at that was free were out of his reach he had only one choice and that was to just go for it he had no choice but to try and get past Sakusa and the other player.”Shit.” Kageyama said under his breath as the ball went down on his side he wasn’t strong enough to push back.
“Got it! Atsumu, let's try again!” Hoshumi Yelled as he slid onto the floor barely reaching the ball in time to receive it.
“Okay then let’s try this again Tobio-kun!”Atsumu said that letting both teams think he was truly going to pass it to Kageyama when really he was going to do a setter dump Kageyma couldn’t get past both blockers any time soon even if he tried so he had to make himself his own opening by using him.”Here we go!”
The other team was too late in their reactions to receiving the ball letting Atsumu’s team score their final point and win their final match together.
“Did you have to use me like that?”Kageyama said.
“Ha sorry, Tobio-kun you weren’t going to be able to beat a block as long as Sakusa was there to block you.”
“Good job guys we beat them!” Hoshumi said, jumping onto Atsumu’s back.
“Good game I guess we definitely would have beat you if it wasn’t for that setter dump you pulled out of nowhere Miya,” Komori said as he and Sakusa walked over to them.
“Mm yeah right whatever makes you sleep better at night.”
“Come on Motoya, I wanna take a shower before we leave.”
“Kay go ahead, I'll be there in a bit.” Sakusa started his way back while Komori stayed with them.
“Ah, I’m gonna go help clean up then.”
“Okay, I'll help in a bit too.”
Komori kept his eyes on Atsumu as he slowly walked away.“Hey, I don’t wanna invade Miya’s personal space but do any of you know if his uh you know gay.”
“Huh, why do you have something against that?” Hoshiumi said, leaning up into Komori’s face.”
“What no, I'm just asking.”
“Well, that’s not really something you ask someone you barely met a few days ago but kinda though I don’t think he’s gay he could be something else we never really know.”
“Yeah what Tobio-kun said.”
“Mm alright then.”
“Hey, why do you ask anyways are you interested in him or something.”
“Nah his nowhere near my type I should get going now, bye guys!” Komori waved goodbye and ran after his cousin.
“Did he just… come out to us?”
“I think he did?”
“Let’s just go help the rest clean up I guess?”
***
It was time to leave and everyone started packing their things up, some had already left and others were still waiting for their trains back home.
“I’ll be leaving now. It was great playing with you guys. I hope to see you nationals.” Hoshiumi said waving goodbye to both boys from the exit
“Ha, that’s if ya make it,” Atsumu replied.
“You bet I will bye Atsumu bye Tobio-kun!”
“We should start our way to the exit to Miya-san.”
“Oh yeah we should too come on then wait have ya seen Sakusa by any chance.”
“Nope, I don’t think he’s left yet either since I also haven’t seen him leave.”
“Hm come on then Tobio-kun I wanna ask him something.”
“Okay just give me a second.” Kageyama kneeled down to tie his shoes really quickly only to see that Atsumu was already gone when he looked back up.
Atsumu walked as fast as he could outside to see if he could spot Sakusa anywhere and to his luck, he was just in time to talk with him before he left it looked like he was waiting for Komori to finish packing.
“Hey, Sakusa!”
“Hi Miya, do you need anything?”
