Omega X formulates a plan to take over Spire once and for all. Sending their undercover agent into the depths of the enemy territory.

Notes:

Hello everyone!! I am so sorry I didn’t update recently. I was super busy and stressed so I apologize if you were waiting! Hopefully this was worth it. I know this isn’t the best chapter ever but I really wanted to post something for you guys, I hope you enjoy! This book is in honor of What’s Goin On, Omega X’s new single album.

Some songs I would recommend listening to while reading are...

What’s Goin On - Omega X

Take Over - Do Hanse (from Victon)

Bad Love - Key (from SHINee) this one doesn’t really fit the theme it’s just really good and I would recommend listening to it!

Have a nice day/night!!!!!

Chapter Text

The young agents of Omega X sat around a large black table. They were discussing a way to defeat Spire once and for all. The problem was, they’ve already tried numerous times but, they’ve always failed.

An unknown Spire agent would always jump into the fight just as Omega X was getting the upper hand and turn the fight around so Omega X were forced to flee again and again.

No one knew who the agent was, but they needed to find out.

None of the Omega X agents were coming up with any good ideas. That is, until Junghoon finally pitched in after staying quiet the whole discussion.

“Why don’t we just send Jehyun into Spire undercover?” He stated simply. The team looked at him with open mouths.

“Why didn’t you say anything before?” Jaehan questioned playfully, smiling at Junghoon. Junghoon just shrugged.

Jaehan looked toward Jehyun, their undercover agent, and sent a silent question. Would he be fine going undercover into the agency that ruined all of their lives?

Jehyun nodded back, understanding the question.

“I’ll do it.” He stated.

And with reluctance and the other members trying to pursuade Jehyun not to go, the meeting was adjourned.

:-:-:-:-:-Jehyun POV-:-:-:-:-:

The undercover agent was packing his things when a light knock sounded across the room.

“Come in!” Jehyun called, reaching for his phone and pausing his music.

Hyuk walked in silently. He, along with the rest of the team, was worried about Jehyun leaving to go on a dangerous mission. They all wanted to defeat Spire. But not at the cost of one of their teammates.

Omega X was used to having Jehyun leaving for long periods of time, being an undercover agent meant that he was often on trips away from the group. But, he hasn’t ever gone straight into the depth of Spire.

“Be careful hyung,” Hyuk smiled slightly, trying to raise the mood. “I’m sure you’ll do great or there.” Jehyun nodded appreciatively.

Jehyun still got nervous on these types of missions, and he knew he always would. There was always a chance he would be leaving on a mission and not returning to his make-shift family. Especially this time, if he got caught infiltrating Spire he wouldn’t be getting to see Omega X for a last goodbye.

He needed to be extra careful this time.

“I’m gonna miss you guys. But I’ll make sure to call you. How does that sound?”

Hyuk grinned, “It sounds good.”

After conversing Hyuk reluctantly made his way out, leaving Jehyun to finish packing. The latter made sure not to forget his gear and the Spire uniform they had recently acquired.

He hauled his bags out of his bedroom, snagged the bus pass off his desk and made his way toward the living room.

The large room had and wrap around couch, able too fit all eleven of the Omega X squad, and a large television. There was a line of computer desks, one for each person. Junghoon’s computer desk was extravagantly decked in tech. Labeled hard drives in a case, an expensive keyboard and special computer he used for hacking.

The large group was waiting for him in the room. A few of them lounging on the couch and Junghoon, as always, typing away rapidly on his computer.

Yechan launched himself off his resting place, resting his head on Hyuk’s lap while reclining his legs across Hangyeom. He ran up to Jehyun and gripped him in a tight embrace.

“We’ll miss you,” he whispered quietly, letting his head fall on Jehyun’s shoulder.

Jehyun chuckled lightly, “I’m gonna miss you too. Stay safe, okay? I’lol be back soon.” Yechan nodded against his shoulder.

Jehyun exchanged a goodbye to each of his friends. Slowly making his way out of their large house.

He slipped his earphones into his ears and put his hood over his head, quietly walking down the dark street.

Omega X had always been a very spontaneous group. Anything could pop up at any time. Jehyun always had his essentials packed for something like this happening.

He knew he probably looked like a criminal, walking slowly down the street while wearing a black hoodie and jeans. Lugging around a large black duffel bag with well concealed weapons. But, he was going straight into the center of a crime agency, so why not fit the part?

He made it too the bus stop after around three minutes of walking. He plopped down on the metal seat and waited for the bus.

A middle-aged man walked up to him and stared at him suspiciously. Jehyun glanced up at him and smiled slightly, trying to look more innocent. He didn’t think it worked when the man scooted down the bench a bit farther from him, looking away.

Eventually, the bus pulled up to the stop and both Jehyun got onto the bus, leaving the other man sitting behind as the bus drove away.

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Jehyun hopped off the bus, struggling to pull his overfilled bag out of the small doors. He could finally see the Spire Headquaters, labeled under the title of Spire Entertainment.

He pulled his phone out of his back pocket and sent a quick message to the Omega X group chat.

Here.

the other agents liked his message and he powered off his phone, walking through the glass door of Spire.

This was gonna be good.

Chapter 3: Group B-2

Summary:

Jehyun gets introduced into Spire.

Notes:

Thank you for reading!! I am sorry that these chapters have been so short! I hope you are all fine with that. I will start working on chapter 3 soon! I hope you enjoy this chapter, and the introduction of another Omega X member!

Chapter Text

He pulled his phone out of his back pocket and sent a quick message to the Omega X group chat.

Here.

the other agents liked his message and he powered off his phone, walking through the glass door of Spire.

This was gonna be good.

Jehyun pulled open the large door and strode through the entrance. The lobby room was brightly lit, white walls and grey decorations added to the put-together look of the building. It smelled like a hospital, very sanitary and only a few people were loitering in the lobby making quiet small talk. Overall, the building wasn’t very welcoming. But what could Jehyun expect, he was walking into a spy agency.

He walked to front desk and showed the employee there his newly-made fake Spire ID. His photo in the Spire uniform and a lot of his (mostly fake) information.

The employee looked suspiciously at his photo and back at Jehyun, his heart raced, thinking that maybe his lies had already been discovered. But the employee just waved him forward.

Jehyun breathed a sigh of relief and headed toward the bathroom. He would get changed there.

After entering a tight stall he unzipped his bag, grabbed the crisp uniform and slipped it on after taking off his hoodie and sweatpants.

He hoped some of the agents here had a sense of fashion, and that he wouldn’t be suspicious for having split red and black dyed hair. He really didn’t know what he was going into, would all the agents be old and wrinkled or would they be his age?

Jehyun readjusted the fully black hooded jacket, it had a spire symbol sewn over his heart. The rest of the uniform was pretty simple, a pocketed vest over the jacket, he would have to add some things to those many pockets. He was wearing black cargo pants, also with pockets and black combat boots. There was a gun holster on his belt where he slid his pistol and he looped his mini throwing knives and daggers around some holders.

He took a deep breath and stepped out of the bathroom. He saw a long hallway to his right. The signs showed it leading to the training areas and computer labs. He made his way down the hallway and turned into the first training area.

The area was obviously for rookies who were still training to become official agents. This was where he needed to be. Junghoon hadn’t been able to get him a higher level ID without being suspicious, so he would have to work from the bottom up just like all the other agents. Unfortunately, that meant he would have to spend even more time in the hellhole that was Spire.

A middle-aged trainer walked up to him. He had a stern face and slightly greying hair.

“What’s your name and rank.” He interrogated sharply.

Jehyun kept his cool under the cold eyes of the trainer. “Moon Jehyun, level one,” he explained smoothly, already used to being interrogated. He was a trained agent after all, unlike his Spire ranking signified.

The stern agent pointed toward a small group of male agents that looked around his age.

“You’ll start you training with Group B-2. Stick with them and don’t pick fights. We will not tolerate any disorder.”

Jehyun nodded back to the trainer and slowly made his way to the group of boys, acting slightly nervous to fit in better.

There was a slightly older agent in front of them, just as stern looking as the first trainer. His midnight hair was slicked back out of his face and he was wearing a small pair of square black glasses. He pursed his lips while eyeing Jehyun from the side. Jehyun assumed he was slightly late.

He bowed his head slightly and slipped into an empty space in the semi-circle the other rookies were standing in.

The boy beside Jehyun nudged him slightly with his elbow and smiled slightly when Jehyun glanced toward him. The boy had light pink hair styled nicely so that his bangs hung slightly in his forehead but not enough to block his vision. He was wearing the same bland combat uniform that Jehyun wore.

“Hey, I’m Hangyeom.” he boy whispered. “Is this your first day here?” Jehyun nodded in response to his question.

“What’s your name?” Hangyeom continued.

“It’s Jehyun,” he responded. Hangyeom made a small noice of affirmation.

“Attention agents!” The stern man stated sharply. “I expect all agents to be paying attention to all higher ranking agents.” He glared pointedly at Jehyun and his new acquaintance.

This was a great start.

Chapter 4: Meeting Monsta X

Summary:

Jehyun gets assigned to work with an agent group.

Notes:

I am so sorry I haven’t posted in a few weeks! I hope this chapter was worth the wait, even though it is pretty short.

Chapter Text

“Attention agents!” The stern man stated sharply. “I expect all agents to be paying attention to all higher ranking agents.” He glared pointedly at Jehyun and his new acquaintance.

This was a great start.

“I will assign pairs of you rookies to shadow our official agent teams along with your personal training which will take place here,”The senior instructor explained the plan to the new agents. “I expect every one of you to do whatever the group you are assigned to says. They will teach you more in the ways of Spire and you will work with them on missions if you do well enough. Understood?” The rookies silently nodded in response.

Jehyun prayed he would get with a good team to shadow. He didn’t wish to make his time in Spire more terrible than it had to be.

“Jang Sebin and Hwang Yeji, you will be shadowing the Level 6 agents of A.C.E. Shin Ryujin and Choi Jisu you will be with the Level 7 Mamamoo members. Song Hangyeom and Moon Jehyun, you’ll be shadowing the Level 7 Monsta X members.”

Jehyun sighed in relief as the instructor kept listing off names, he would be with his seemingly nice new acquaintance and with a very high ranking team. It would be much easier to get information that way, he would just have to hope Monsta X was nice.

-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-

After the agent had finished explaining to all the rookies he led each pair to their respective teams. The middle-aged man strode with purpose, seemingly very confident. His head was held high and his long legs took large strides.

“Monsta X will be training through that door,” he pointed with his left hand toward a closed door. “Do not disturb them and be polite.”

The instructor strode away to lead the next pair the their team.

Jehyun glanced at Hangyeom. The latter looked nervous and Jehyun noticed he was fiddling with a simple ring on his thumb.

Jehyun sharply knocked on the door of the training room and a young man promptly opened the door.

The agent was younger than Jehyun had expected. He had fluffy orange hair and pale skin. He was smiling lightly and looked as if he had recently been laughing. He was wearing the same combat uniform as Jehyun and Hangyeom but his had a small symbol next to the Spire symbol. The symbol was a mix between a M and an X, Jehyun assumed it stood for their group name.

“Oh you must be the new rookies!” the agent exclaimed. “I’m Minhyuk, it’s nice to meet you!” He held out his hand and Hangyeom and Jehyun reluctantly shook it.

The personality of this agent, Minhyuk, was not at all what Jehyun was expecting. He had thought everyone would be as cold and stern as the first agent he had encountered at Spire. But, it seemed some people here actually acted like humans.

“Come in,” Minhyuk opened the door wider and the two rookies stepped inside to the large training room decked out in equipment.

“What are your names?” He asked nicely as he led them toward the rest of the team. Monsta X was sitting around a lounge area and looking curiously at Minhyuk leading the others toward them.

“I’m Moon Jehyun,” he bowed slightly to Minhyuk then toward the other members.

Hangyeom followed suite and also introduced himself.

“It’s nice to meet you, I’m the leader of Monsta X, my name is Shownu.” one of the agents sitting said. He was tall with brown hair. He pointed toward the agent to his left, “This is Kihyun, and then there is Jooheon, Hyungwon, Wonho, and Changkyun. I see you have already met Minhyuk.”

Jehyun already felt safer with this group, he felt like they had a much different dynamic than the rest of Spire. Maybe he could get this team to help him. He wouldn’t let his guard down yet though, he knew what could happen if you trust the wrong people.

-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-

After spending time with Monsta X and figuring out how the shadowing would work Jehyun and Hangyeom went back to the training area for their personal assessments.

The two of them sat down in the lounge chairs to wait.

When Jehyun heard an agent call his name he stood up from where he was waiting and made his way over to the agent, waving goodbye to Hangyeom who mouthed “Good Luck”. The agent led Jehyun to a more private training room filled with different weapons.

There was a long table at the end of the room and nine clearly high ranking agents sat in the cushioned chairs that were pushed up behind it.

The sternness in their faces and the dim room set the mood for the assessment. It definitely was not welcoming.

“Name?” the agent on the far left inquired sharply once Jehyun had reached the middle of the room.

“Moon Jehyun.”

“Age?”

“Twenty-two.”

“Weapon of choice?”

“Knives or hand to hand.”

“Please go grab a weapon.”

Jehyun did as he was told and walked over to the knife rack. There were rows of knives, all in perfect condition. He picked up a few and tested the weight until he found one he was most comfortable with. It was a pair of silver knives with a small engraving on each side. The set was similar to the ones he used in Omega X.

Now it was time to start his assessment.
