Resistance

Summary:

Yandere!Siren Vanora x Reader Oneshot

You don't know how long you've been here.
Everyday she has you under her spell and away from the world you once knew.
You just want to be free from her.

Work Text:

“Don’t you like what I’ve made for you?”

You merely stared at the rocky walls, not even bothering to look or touch the necklace she placed around your neck. It was beautiful, adorned with a few shells, pearls, and what seemed to be one of her scales, plucked out and woven into a pendant.

However, you didn’t want it. You didn’t want any gift she would ever want to give you. In fact, you wish your captor would just release you from her grasp and let you be free to go home. But of course, she refuses to ever do that.

She’s stolen you away from everything you’ve loved and made it so you could never leave her, even if you tried. Of course, with how deep you are in the ocean, how could you ever make it back home, especially without her spell allowing you to survive? She would constantly tell you that it’s dangerous out there, that you don’t belong up there in the human world, and in her arms is where you’ll always be safe. Forever.

Vanora continued her soft humming as she braided pearls into your hair. It was the same song she would sing to calm you and lull you into tranquil state. You felt so at ease and so peaceful, and you wanted nothing more than to melt into the warmth of her soft embrace. But you reminded yourself that her song was the only reason you even felt that way. She then sighed when you refused to respond to her question.

“If it’s not to your liking, I could always make another one that suits you more. Or perhaps, something else that could further compliment your beauty?”

Once more, you refused to give her any answer, and she sighed again, this time with a small hint of annoyance. “Sweet angel, I just want to adore you. Why do you keep resisting me?”

She then leaned in to place a gentle kiss on the back of your neck.

“Why can’t you just accept my love, my dearest?”

“I don’t want your love.” you said firmly as you slowly began to break from her trance and began to feel emotional, “I don’t want any of your gifts. I want to go home!”

How much time has passed since you felt the comfort of your home and all the things you loved surrounding you? Weeks? Months? It seems to have been long enough for you to start forgetting what it was like to have a normal life, free from the grasp of an obsessive siren. And you’re tired of it. Tired of being trapped in her godforsaken home. Tired of constantly being under her spell. Tired of being hers.

In response to your sudden outburst, Vanora clicked her tongue in disapproval, yet simply remained calm. Leaning closer to your shoulder, she began to sing softly into your ear. This time it was the song she would sing to seduce you, a tune that made you feel a deep longing for her and everything she could offer. The overwhelming amount of “love” you felt made you turn around to face her and let yourself be taken into her arms.

I’m your home now, my sweet.” she said as she placed her lips on yours and began a trail of sensual kisses and nibbles down your neck. “When I first saw you, I knew those dreadful humans weren’t deserving of a pearl like you. Only I can protect and take care of you. Do you understand?”

You could only make out a flustered breath with how good she was making you feel. But your stubbornness and true feelings of resentment towards her allowed you to stay grounded against her song rather than be taken completely.

After moments of marking you just as she’d done so numerous times before, Vanora released you from her embrace, leaving you with an irritating feeling of emptiness and heartache.

“I’ll go bring back some food for us.” she said as she placed another soft kiss to your lips, with a spell that compelled you to stay in the cave in order to be able to keep breathing underwater. “And perhaps another surprise for you, love. One that you’ll definitely enjoy. Be good, alright?” she added, cupping your cheek before swimming away into the dark tunnel.

Now that you were alone, you lamented your situation once more. Will you ever find a way out of this place and away from her? Will you ever see your true home again?

You swore that eventually you’ll escape her song.

You will find a way.
