Amara was excited. Her daddy pulled her from school that day to take her for a daddy-daughter date, even though she was supposed to take a test. He told her, “There will always be more tests, but there will never be another today.”
They drove out of the city and took the train all the way to the Glacian Temple. She smiled as she saw the giant goddess frozen, but then her smile fell, “Daddy?”
“Yes, Kiska?” He used her pet name, meaning ‘kitten,’ as he took her hand in his.
“Why did the Empire stop her? If we still worship her…why did she need to be stopped?” Amara looked up at him, eyes wide with curiosity.
Her father knelt and looked at her then to the mighty form of the Glacian, “My dear little one, you will find that in the future, those in charge do not always tell the truth. Lady Shiva was distraught when she found out what became of her beloved Ifrit, and in her grief, she attacked the world….”
“That’s…very human of a goddess.” Amara titled her head a little.
Her father smiled at how his little toddler could see that already, “It is…and we are here today to gain her blessing Kiska. She has always looked out for the Miranov family, and I would like her to keep you safe as well. She didn’t always like humanity little one…but to those who have warm hearts and show compassion, she keeps safe and grants her boons to.”
“I thought we…were ice skating.” Amara made a face as he stood up and started to walk toward the temple again.
“We will, little one…we will…” He chuckled, bringing her inside.
