Work Text:
Shota Aizawa stormed through the building carrying two small, breathing, furry creatures. The furry beings in his arms looked to be asleep -for now- and odd colors. One was lavender purple and the other forest green. They both were intertwined and purring.
The ravenette got odd looks as he passed people in the halls. Only the bravest dared to try and ask him what was going on.
"Sensei, if I may-" Tenya said, already beginning his gigantic hand motions in the air.
"You may not," Shota said, successfully shutting the probably half robot boy up.
With a flourish, Shota had briskly walked away. Finally, he reached his destination. He raised his hand up to the door and knocked thrice then waited. From inside, you could hear the shuffling around of someone getting up and unlocking the door. The wooden barrier opened, revealing a boy with heterochromatic eyes and bicolored hair. Shouto Todoroki.
A slight change in his usual neutral expression conveyed surprise at the sight of Shota. Finally, Shouto's eyes landed on the two sleeping animalia in his sensei's arms. The peculiar coloring was definitely not natural. Also, they looked suspiciously like the hair colors of his classmates' hair. In a world full of quirks, you could never be too careful. "Aizawa-sensei, what-"
Before Shouto could finish, he was having two animals shoved into his arms. Shota looked reluctant as he handed the two adorable animals over to the fire and ice user, "Shouto, I'm asking you to take care of these two for the remainder of the day. Normally, I would do this, but I have some things to take care of," Shota said the last part sounding a little -a lot- miffed that this had come up. He quickly schooled his expression back to his resting bitch face. "Your classmates have been transformed into animals. Hitoshi Shinsou, a felus catus, or simply 'cat'. Izuku is an oryctolagus cuniculus, or rabbit. The quirk is pretty much unknown seeing that the user had run away after hitting these two with their quirk. It is a mystery whether they can still understand us, understand only each other, how many traits they have picked up, if they can talk like regular humans, how long they will be like this, etcetera. It would help greatly if you could help us know a little more about the quirk, but I'm already asking a lot of you. I will probably pick those two up sometime around nine at night?"
"Aizawa-sensei, why are you asking me to do this in particular?" Shota asked.
"Let's see, Bakugou would explode them in seconds, Uraraka doesn't have the resources to take care of them, I doubt Iida knows how to take care of a small living creature, do you want me to continue?"
Shouto shook his head, "I understand, I rather like cats so I think I'll be fine until you come back."
Shota gave the apathetic boy a look of pity, like he didn't know what he had coming for him. Shota said, beginning to leave, "Okay, don't die. Whatever you do, do not let Nezu get to them."
With that rather odd warning, Shota left two of his problem children alone with a literalistic speaking traumatized teen.

Izuku and Hitoshi had awoken an hour ago. According to Shouto, they had been in his dorm for two hours now. After they woke up, Shouto told them he was going out to get supplies to take care of them. He had given them a brief synopsis of what had happened.
Izuku thought being a cute little rabbit was fun. (At least, Hitoshi told him he was cute, they had figured out they could communicate). Obviously, having opposable thumbs was superior, but being a bunny was a better experience than you'd expect.
Speaking of Hitoshi, the handsome cat Izuku had the blessing of calling his boyfriend was pawing his way over to Izuku. (Izuku didn't think cats were physically capable of being handsome, but somehow Hitoshi made it work). In lieu of greeting, Izuku licked Hitoshi on the nose. That's when Hitoshi started to groom him.
Izuku had read somewhere that bunnies did this to each other as a sign of affection. Izuku felt his new-found bunny instincts making him want to return the onslaught of licks smoothing down his fur. Izuku gave into the desire.
"Izukuuu, just let me do something for you for once, you're always attentive to other's needs. If being a bunny is what it takes to make you relax for once, then so be it." Hitoshi huffed. He continued to lick every surface of Izuku.
"But Hitoshi-" Izuku started.
"No buts." Hitoshi attempted to shut him up with a kiss, but it was kinda awkward considering they were both different species of animals. Hitoshi pulled away and started grooming Izuku's side.
For some reason, that made Izuku full of pleasure, he flopped down on his side, content. He felt Hitoshi's smile on his skin. Izuku's body rumbled with purrs that racked over his body. Izuku wanted to cuddle with Hitoshi. He turned his bunny head and nudged Hitoshi. Hitoshi looked at him with curiosity and love.
Izuku nudged him over harder so Hitoshi fell on top of Izuku. Izuku purred in delight and snuggled into Hitoshi's neck. Hitoshi scowled, but his expression softened when he saw Izuku's adorable bunny face.
"C'mon Toshiiiii, can't you cuddle with your poor rabbit boyfriend for just two minutes?" Izuku gave him the cutest eyes he could muster.
Hitoshi looked more than happy to do so, "Of course, Zuku."
They settled down and curled on the floor, both their bodies forming a circle shape. Hitoshi started gently licking the green rabbit's nose and face until they both fell asleep. Izuku giggled.
.....
Todoroki still had not come back. Hitoshi had taken it upon himself to finish grooming himself and watch his boyfriend from the highest vantage point he could find.
Unfortunately, Todoroki did not appear to have any of those cat tower climb perches so Hitoshi had to make due with the arm of the couch that was in Todoroki's room. He licked his paws while he thought about how superior he looked right now. He didn't even need the couch to make him look this amazing, all cats were born being superior to humans and animals alike. He was lucky he was transformed into a cat and not a dirty mutt such as the far lower dogs. Cats rule over all these other pesky organisms. And no- the transformation quirk was definitely not making him think like this. Cats were just naturally born magnificent- yeah no, that was definitely cat instincts speaking.
But for real, Hitoshi was glad he was a cat. Hitoshi had always loved them- the way they were so cunning, smart, and sneaky. Hitoshi also thought Izuku made one cute bunny.
Speaking of his adorable boyfriend, Hitoshi had been watching him amused. He seemed to be bursting with energy and happiness as he ran around excitedly. Sometimes Hitoshi would hear Izuku mumbling about things rabbits do. If Hitoshi recalled correctly, bunnies sometimes run around the room out of pure joy.
Izuku sprinted around the room at maybe five thousand million miles per hour, lapping it multiple times. It made Hitoshi smile, Izuku really was so endearing.
Hitoshi continued to groom his fur. Once he deemed it done, he jumped from his high perch. He landed on his feet which he was still proud of. It seemed true that cats always land on their feet.
Hitoshi pawed gracefully into the center of the room. He sat there silently. He tried his hardest to track Izuku's movements around the room. After the task proved to be close to impossible, he lay on the ground and closed his eyes. Just as he was about to relax into a nice nap a fuzzy, warm creature plopped on top of him. It's breathing was uneven, making it seem like it just went on a run.
Hitoshi jumped up in surprise, hissing at the creature. It whimpered, and as revealed by his sight- he creature wasn't an 'it', instead a 'he'. Izuku looked at him betrayed.
Hitoshi said with remorse, "Oh, Zuku, I didn't know it was you. I'm sorry, come here. Did you want to cuddle?" He began to walk on his four paws over to his boyfriend.
Izuku nodded silently. When Hitoshi reached him and lay down next to him, Izuku leaned into him. Hitoshi purred and started grooming Izuku again.
"Hitoshiiiiii, you already groomed me once. Why do you need to do it again?" Izuku whined.
Hitoshi stopped and frowned, "Do you not like it?"
Izuku paused, "No, it feels good."
"Then don't stop me, I like doing this for you," Hitoshi hummed as he licked Izuku's soft forehead.
.....
Shouto came back to his dormitory an hour later with two reusable bags full of cat and bunny toys, food, and an assortment of other items. He had used his father's credit card so no problems with money here.
He opened the door to a faint purring. Had those two fallen asleep again?
He glanced at the time, it was probably about time he got some food into his two animal friends. He set his bags onto his counter and got the basic ingredients for soba. He knew them by heart.
Before his impromptu trip to the store he had looked up what types of food rabbits eat. Turns out, they mostly consume grass or hay and an assortment of vegetables or fruits. So he decided he would make a tasty and healthy salad for his rabbit friend. For Shinsou, he had quickly grabbed some cat food. No, Shouto didn't have a bias.
He threw his microwavable soba package into the microwave and started to make the salad. First, he threw in a mix of hay and grass. Next, he cut up some fruits and vegetables. He mixed them in evenly. Now, he had a salad fit for a king. He looked at it proudly. Beeping from the microwave made his flinch a little and distracted him from his beautiful salad.
He took out his steaming soba and let it cool. From a drawer, he got out the scissors and cut open his small bag of cat food. He grabbed a bowl from a cabinet and dumped a healthy amount of cat food into the bowl.
Now, the meal for three was complete. He set the three containers of their diversifying meals onto the kotatsu because he thought the couple may want to eat on the kotatsu since they are still technically humans. Now all that was left was to get the pair of animals to come to the kotatsu.
It wasn't hard to find the pair. The hard part was getting them to move an inch.
"Izuku, Shinsou, I've got you delicious food on the table, why don't you come on over?" Shouto said in a strained coo.
Nothing.
Shouto tried again, moving a bit closer, "Izuku, you like grass, right? There's nice, tasty grass on the table."
He heard Izuku yawn, but nothing else. Maybe they didn't understand him?
Shouto gave up on trying to get them to come over on their own. He prepared to pick the couple up and set them on the table. As soon as he came within a five feet radius of them, Shinsou looked up. He gave him a bored look, like he was saying are you seriously still trying? Shouto shivered. Shinsou went back to laying his head on top of Izuku's. Izuku snuggled into the touch. It was cute, not that Shouto would give Shinsou the satisfaction of hearing that. Oh no, was Shouto turning into Katsuki with his manner of thinking?
Shouto rolled his eyes at the cat, "Shinsou, you don't want your boyfriend to starve, do you?"
Shinsou looked up again Shouto saw Shinsou considering the heterochromatic boy's words. After a few seconds, Shinsou twisted and nudged the green bunny with his nose. Izuku twitched then looked at Shinsou sleepily. Izuku licked the cat's nose and Shinsou licked the other's nose in return. Shouto heard a sound close to a giggle from Izuku. Shouto couldn't take much more of this overwhelming sweetness. He decided to risk getting scratched to death by Shinsou and scooped the two animals up. After all, his soba was getting cold. Shinsou hissed, Shouto ignored the cat. He set them onto the table, they could eat if they wanted to.
Izuku looked at the food and hopped over to it. He started taking little bites of his food and chewing it. The raspberries stained his mouth and lips. He happily nibbled at his food.
Meanwhile, Shinsou quietly pawed up to his food then sniffed it. He scrunched his nose in disgust. He decided to give it a try though. He put a few of the pieces of the cat food in his mouth then chewed them. After a few seconds he spit it out. He gave Shouto a look that screamed I grace you with my divine presence and you decide to give me this. Hmf, only you lowly mortals would do such a thing. Shouto rolled his eyes and started eating his delicious soba.
Shindou managed to grab his attention by going over to Izuku's food and started to eat from that.
Izuku didn't seem to mind, but Shouto said, "Hey! Shonsou, that's Izuku's, eat your own foo-" Shouto caught sight of Izuku trying to eat a large piece of celery. It was too big for his mouth, so he just kept trying to eat at the sides to no avail. He started laughing a bit.
Izuku pouts at him which just makes it more adorable and funny. Shinsou seems to take this as a personal attack on his boyfriend and decides to scratch Shouto's nose.
A drip of blood landed in Shouto's soba. The scratch wasn't unbearably painful, but to do this to his precious soba? Not okay.
"Shinsou! You got blood in my soba! Apologize!" Shouto complains.
Shinsou's eyes say, serves you right.
.....
It was just hours from the designated time for Aizawa-sensei to come around to pick the animal couple up. Shouto was doing a couple chores around his dorm. He assumed that Shinsou and Izuku were off cuddling or something of the sort, but a few minutes ago, he noticed the lavender colored cat following him. He elected to ignore him for now, he was not bothering Shouto that much. Then Shinsou started to meow loudly and scratch his ankles. He didn't really appreciate it. When it got to be too much, Shouto turned around, almost ready to freeze the cat to the ground.
"What do you want?" Shouto said. He tried to keep the normal monotone, but annoyance managed to sneak into his voice.
Shinsou flipped over on his back, revealing his belly. Shouto's eyes widened, that was a sign of trust. It also meant Shinsou wanted to be pet. Shouto would gladly oblige.
He petted the cat's stomach gently. The cat purred. Shouto picked up the cat and grabbed a book that was lying on the counter. He sat on the couch and continued to pet the creature. He also relaxed and read his book. Shinsou was back to purring and laying on Shouto's lap.
When Shinsou wasn't trying to murder Shouto, he was actually calming to have around.
After ten minutes of reading and petting Shinsou's back peacefully, the cat jumped up, surprising Shouto, then he got up and left.
Shouto rolled his eyes and continued reading.
.....
Aizawa-sensei was going to be here in about ten minutes and Shouto still couldn't find those two creatures. He had been looking for nearly twenty minutes now.
Cats were supposed to be really good at hiding and Shinsou had probably taken his boyfriend with him to hide.
"Shinsooouuu, Izukuuu!" He called out. All he got in response was the purring that had been echoing all around his dorm for the last hour. To be honest, it was starting to get annoying. He had taken that to mean they were sleeping.
"You guys are going to Aizawa-sensei's home now!" Shouto tried again.
Nothing.
Shouto smiled, well, at least they're happy. They would come out eventually.
If they didn't, Shouto would set off the fire alarms. That would wake them up.
