Work Text:
kiana was the sea. the sea that burns. the sea that consumed mei into its flames.
she remembers the first time she met the girl with azure eyes. everything about the girl was like a fiery blaze that'll never stop burning. the heat was too much for mei to handle, it felt as if she would die. and she wanted to die. she wanted to die in kiana's heat. she wanted to be engulfed in kiana's fire. she wanted kiana to kill her and kill her over and over again.
she never found dying so joyful until she met kiana kaslana and she wished it lasted forever. she wanted to experience dying in kiana's warmth for all eternity without end.
and then it did end.
when kiana disappeared from her life, all mei felt was her charred corpse and the cold, cold afterlife. she doesn't want the afterlife, she wants to die. she wants to die, over and over again. she wants kiana to engulf her body in her scorching fire and kill her. kill her again and again. the beauty in death is dying in an inferno, not drowning in ice. how could she even burn in ice when the only thing keeping her burning was gone?
when kiana returned, the scorching sea didn't. there was no fire. no warmth. no heat. there was only the frozen abyss, no inferno. they say the final circle of hell was a frozen abyss with no inferno too. perhaps mei was in the final circle of hell, she was a sinner anyways. sinners don't deserve any warmth.
all she'll experience now in the dark, cold, abyss is the frigid storm of nothingness. maybe she'll never experience the scorching blue sea that consumed her body and how it set her soul ablaze. and perhaps, that's fine. she'll never experience the joy of dying in kiana's heat, but mei wants kiana to reburn. even if she can't ever feel that warmth, she wants to at least know that heat is still there.
the sea engulfed mei in flames and mei will never forget the warmth.
kiana kaslana killed her and raiden mei longs to die twice.
