Chapter Text

Hello all, it's Spaceybot from tumblr! These are all headcanons written by my teenage self and as much as it pains me to look back on it I still hope you enjoy them.  A past tumblr update destroyed all the spacing on the original posts so now they're here. I also took the opportunity to do some minor cringe control hehe.

What to expect:

• All headcanons are written to be gender-neutral unless the ask says otherwise

• These are all fairly accurate to canon where possible (at least up until I stopped reading, but hey I'm pretty proud of this. Catch those comic references!)

• These are all SFW. 

• Comments are very welcome but please do not request anything in them! I no longer take any. :(

• Any warnings that apply (there aren't many) will appear in the notes of the chapter.

Chapter Text

Group Headcanons

• Fulcrum is the ship’s peace keeper and rushes to defuse stupid fights and arguments.
• He LOVES horror movies and when it’s his turn to pick, he always chooses really cheesy ones for movie night.

• Misfire teases everybody and will start wrestling matches with anyone in the immediate vicinity. He is the main instigator of Shoot Shoot Bang Bang™.
• When you guys are done goofing around, he’ll form a cuddle pile and will lay on top of people to piss them off.

• Crankcase acts like he’s 100% done with life but is actually only 50% done. He doesn’t show it but he does care for his crew mates and you guys are the reason he hasn’t completely given up.
• He’s obscenely good at card games and will challenge the group to games of poker. Poker face? Facial paralysis.

• Spinister makes everybody get impromptu check-ups at the medbay. The medbay is shoddy and supplies are lacking but he takes his job REALLY seriously and nobody is gonna die unless he shoots them.
• Outside of the medbay, Spin is really chill and lets everybody do what they want. Unless someone plays a video game with him in which case he gets really intense.

• Krok is the ultimate soccer dad and tries really hard to keep all of you losers alive because you’re HIS group of losers. So he assigns important chores to everybody, including himself.
• Despite this, he’s an otherwise casual leader. For example, he offers to teach you guys how to play mecha-soccer and will actually go easy on everybody.

Individual Headcanons

• Fulcrum has a soft spot for you since you guys are both newbies aboard the WAP. He’s usually hanging out around you and will definitely notice if you’re down or upset, resulting in long talks and cuddles.·         
• Misfire tries to get you to do his chores. It never works. Even so, he tries to bribe you with stolen cans of engex and lots of clingy hugs and half-hearted pleading. Eventually he’s having so much fun trying to kiss up to you he forgets what he wanted you to do.
• Crankcase will actively seek you out to vent his frustrations. He feels that you’re a good listener and slightly less annoying than everybody else. When he’s really comfortable, he maps out his dream starship with you and even lets you have a say in the planning process.·         
• Spinister lets you hang out in the medbay with him and likes to play with your hair, poke your tummy, and look at your hands because he thinks you’re super fascinating. If you’re ticklish though you better watch out: he’s relentless in tickle wars.         
• Krok doesn’t mind lounging around with you on the couch if his work is done and will lean on you while he’s reading or chatting with you. Sometimes, he gets engrossed in discussing war history or worrying about how you feel about living on the WAP. He knows it probably isn’t the best life to be living, so he’s concerned about your well-being and likes to see you happy. 

Chapter Text

     Ratchet

• He will tease you relentlessly, albeit dryly. You two make a habit of trading affectionate jabs and quips. Some may think you two secretly hate each other and are extremely passive aggressive but MOST know you guys are simply that close and comfortable with each other. He’s lowkey proud of your bantering skills.

• When he’s off his work shift he’ll occasionally take you to Swerve’s to relax. He awkwardly rests his hand on yours while sipping his drink and avoiding eye contact. But after a few drinks he’s a bit more relaxed and does it properly, intertwining your fingers with his and complaining about his day making casual conversation with you.

• Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been together, if anyone asks him how he feels about you he vehemently denies any kind of affection for you and attempts to be dismissive. It doesn’t fool anyone, not even himself. 

      Drift

• He comes up with awful, flowery phrases/nicknames to describe you with: light of my world, gift of Primus, my little starshine, etc. He loves to see your reaction to his horribly cheesy descriptions of you because half of this is just him joking around and the other half is him seriously telling you just how much you mean to him

• Really likes meditation, yoga, and poetry and will attempt to get you to try one of them. If you enjoy it he’ll be ecstatic and ask you to do it with him regularly. If you’re not too into it he doesn’t push you any further but will still show off his flexibility and poems from time to time, hoping to impress you.

• He’s very perceptive, so if he notices you acting strangely, you bet he’s going to find out what’s going on. If you’re feeling down, he immediately wraps you up in a bunch of blankets, initiates the cuddle session and encourages you to have a heartfelt talk with him. He really believes communication is key to a healthy relationship but understands you may just need time to be alone. Either way he completely respects your choice and acts accordingly.

     Ambulon

• On the outside, he appears a bit gruff but in reality he’s super shy and kind of insecure about the relationship. After a while he really opens up and feels that you and the medical staff are the only people he feels comfortable around. His bouts of insecurity still pop up from time to time but if you take time to validate him he’s really touched and might get teary.

• He’s not too into crowds so he doesn’t hang around the bar much, instead you two hang out in his hab suite and watch movies or read together. He doesn’t initiate any cuddling but if you do, he won’t react much even though he’s secretly into it.

• He is VERY empathetic and will discreetly treat patients who are scared of Ratchet, but if YOU do something to land yourself in the medbay he’ll send you straight to the big guy himself. He wants you to get the best treatment and will hold you close while lecturing you about your safety and will be all: are you trying to give me a spark attack? Don’t ever, ever do that again. I swear to Primus, please be more careful, for me? He’ll react the same way whether it’s a paper cut or a broken bone.

      Tailgate

• Tailgate honestly just adores you so much and he has no problem showing it. Whether it is holding your hand, glomping you when you least expect it, or nuzzling his mask against your face, expect lots of affection out of him. It isn’t uncommon for other bots to take notice and laugh.

• Even if it isn’t any special occasion, he’ll sometimes surprise you with hand-made gifts. When he’s in the middle of creating something, he goes into super sneaky sneak mode. But knowing Tailgate, the entire ship figures out what he’s up to within hours.

• Although his gifts aren’t the best in quality, you can tell that he put his entire spark into making something special for you. The most complex present was a hoverboard that he made with the help of Ten and Brainstorm. It has a cute, cartoony picture of you and Tailgate together and hidden projectile missiles. (Guess who did what)

Chapter Text

      Blaster

• Blaster would be the most level-headed out of the three when helping you deal with your social anxiety. He will attempt to help you confront the situation. If he notices you showing signs of anxiety, he whisks you aside to sit down and helps you breathe properly if you’re short of breath. He’ll quickly counters any negative thoughts you have and really tries to back it up with words: They ain’t gonna think that, baby, public speaking is tough and enough of us have done it to understand that we've got no place to judge; You’ve achieved so much in your life, we know you’re capable; You can do this y/n, I know it.

• Blaster is pretty outgoing and extroverted and may not completely understand the reasons for your apprehension at first. However, being a radio show host has taught him how to pep talk and lift other people’s spirits if something’s wrong. He uses everything he’s learned to reassure you. (He’s just a really smooth talker, and doubly so with his s/o.)

• He’s super proud if you are able to face the situation but completely understands if you can’t this time around. He gets that dealing with your social anxiety is a process. He will always take you back into your hab suite no matter what happens. There, he makes you comfortable, puts on your favorite music/sings to you, and reminds you that you are not what your mind claims you are. You’re strong and competent. 

      Drift

• Drift starts to get almost as nervous as you are. He attempts to deal with the situation for you, whether this is asking the question you were afraid to ask, helping you with speeches, or fixing up little things that may be prone to criticism. (He may or may not unintentionally make the situation worse.) If he cannot deal with the situation he may become very guilty and instead resort to murmuring encouragement to you.

• He asks for your permission to touch you before stroking your hair or rubbing your back in an attempt to relax you. He’s afraid of making you anymore distressed that you already are and tries to project a soothing aura to make you more comfortable. He even offers to help you meditate since it helps him a lot.

• Once he’s more understanding of social anxiety he comes up with a bunch of breathing exercises and like Blaster, begins to combat your fears with pep talks. He ends up becoming very prepared to fight your fears with you instead of for you. He practically beams if you overcome your fear and will constantly tell you that he’s proud of you.

      Fortress Maximus

• Fort Max tries to appear calm but is inwardly as nervous as Drift (above). He will attempt to remove you from the situation altogether, potentially creating a worse situation. He isn’t as verbally encouraging as the other two but will definitely try to hold your hand and be more affectionate than usual to let you know he’s there. If he does try to talk to you he’ll usually say: You don’t have to do this, y/n; Are you sure about this? If you really don’t want to do it, don’t force yourself. It’s okay.

• He’s a huge believer in therapy and encourages you to consult with Rung (or any therapist), since Rung has definitely helped him in the past and is known to be very gentle and kind. He won’t push you if you refuse but will visit Rung in your place instead for advice on how to help you without inciting more anxiety. He then employs tactics he learned to help you whenever you’re faced with a difficult social situation.

• His learning process is slow and may frustrate him, but his empathy and affection for you make him super determined to be there when you need him. He becomes the most patient and gentle in his encouragements and may bear hug both you and Rung at the simplest sign of progress in overcoming your social anxiety.

Chapter Text

Author's Note: 16 year old me read the prompt (in the chapter summary) and immediately assumed the bots would interpret your potential future "absence" as you dying or otherwise being dead. 4 million year war probably does that.

      Whirl

• Whirl will cheerfully tell you that your gift is not bad at all and that he loves it. Otherwise, he comes off as somewhat nonchalant with his praise. Behind your back, he’s all over it and shows it off to random people. He’s just so touched and giddy that you took your time to give something special to him because he’s not used to positive attention. 

• If you’ve made something for him, he will be more openly impressed. Being a watchmaker, he appreciates and understands the art of creation and thinks it’s totally rad that you dabbled around in it. If it is a picture, he’s more apprehensive because his claws make it hard to handle things delicately.

• After hearing your reasons for the gift, he goes silent for a while before trying to shrug it off with a laugh. He jokingly tells you to lighten up and offers to hang out with you at Swerve’s. The possibility that you may not always be with him is terrifying to him, and it may take some time to come to terms with it. He’s lost many things and doesn’t want to lose you too.

      Rodimus

• Rodimus is a legit child and will be pretty ecstatic. He will praise/thank you endlessly and shower you with kisses because you’re just the sweetest thing. He finds a place to proudly display your gift and will brag about it to his friends and the Lost Light staff.

• Whether your gift is handmade or just a cute picture of you two together, he won’t react much differently. He loves it either way and you can often catch him staring at it with a smile.

• He doesn’t read too much into your explanation, assuming you mean a short absence rather than something more permanent. He’s so touched after hearing your reasons that he decides to give a gift of his own to serve the same purpose for you. (He probably tries to give you a Rodimus Star before Drift smacks some sense into him tbh.) When he thinks about what you said later on, he may realize the implications and panic.

      Sunstreaker

• Sunstreaker is completely taken off guard but in a pleasant way. He doesn’t say much in the way of compliments but he smiles and thanks you. The look on his face is a dead giveaway of how much he loves you and your unexpected gift. He keeps the gift to himself and no one knows about it except the two of you.

• Unsurprisingly, he reacts better to pictures of him because first of all, it’s Sunstreaker. He loves admiring his own face. Secondly, he loves you as much as he loves himself, not that he’d admit it. Combine the two and wham bam in the van, you got yourself a precious memento.

• He is the only one who truly understands your meaning and has accepted the fact that you might not always be around, despite how much it saddens him. He thinks your thoughtfulness is sweet and like Roddy, will give you something in return for you to hold onto. He’s far better at thinking of gifts though and will likely give you a painting or jewelry. (Something pretty for his gorgeous s/o.) 

Chapter Text

      Megatron

• Megatron hates feeling vulnerable and will bottle his feelings up to protect himself. He may not respond to your attempts to calm him at first and doesn’t want to discuss it at all should you ask. He’ll attempt to immediately go back to sleep and tells you to do the same and to not worry about him

• In the morning, he’ll apologize for being standoffish. He understands you were only trying to help him because you care and he’s grateful for you. He will probably treat you that day to make up for his behavior, as he’s still learning how to open up to others and accept their genuine kindness.

• Should you attempt to do this again when his nightmares pop up, he tries to be more receptive and gradually opens up to you. He would still rather not talk about it (the most he ever let slip was something about mnemosurgery needles) but he lets you soothe him and likes it when you allow him to hold you close. He will appreciate it if you have long conversations about different subjects with him to get the dream out of his mind.

      Brainstorm

• Brainstorm is honestly kind of embarrassed at first, and feels bad that you had to wake up to take care of him. He’ll try to nervously laugh it off because he knows it is a dream and doesn’t want you to think he’s pathetic. Because he’s not. He’s the ship’s genius.

• He’s far more open to your ministrations and tells you he’s lucky to have you. He appreciates any excuse to cuddle you and will latch onto you and never let go. He also will be really happy if you tell him really lame science jokes and puns to make him laugh and forget about his bad dream. The best kind of comfort to him is a giggle fest. In the morning, he’ll feel far better and thank you.

• He will be hesitant to discuss the content of his dreams but eventually will if you coax him enough. The only nightmare that he will never want to discuss with you is about a certain someone from his past. It may take him years to tell you about it, but when he does he assures you that he loves you and wants you to stay with him.

      Whirl

• Whirl attempts to downplay his nightmare and jokes around, insisting he doesn’t need to be coddled. (He won’t protest should you try to calm him down though.) He’ll repeatedly say it’s just a dream and that nothing scares him. He will literally challenge his nightmare to a fight and punch his face to make you laugh. This may or may not make you feel better about it…

• He doesn’t make too much of a fuss if you’re persistent in taking care of him, and takes it as a chance to cuddle you. It may escalate into a tickle war…in the middle of night. He appreciates it if you’re not too serious when calming him and simply talk to him or hold him. He’ll quietly thank you, and in the morning, he’ll act like nothing happened.

• Whirl openly tells you about his nightmares. He says it’s all crazy slag, and it’s actually true. His past nightmares include losing a fight to Tailgate, falling into a pit of lava with Cyclonus, and spilling his drink at Swerve’s. This is part of the reason why he doesn’t really make a big deal out of his nightmares. However, you can always tell when it is a more serious nightmare because you can catch him quietly staring at his hands claws. Like Brainstorm, it may take time for him to discuss that particular nightmare.

Chapter Text

      Fulcrum

• Fulcrum is a sweetie and kind of old-fashioned when it comes to affection. He will ask you for your permission to kiss you or hold your hand and gets super nervous while doing it. Later on in the relationship, he grows out of it but will always make sure you’re okay with whatever he’s about to do.

• Likes horror movies and spooky stuff. He’ll be excited if you watch some with him and will attempt to put his arms around your shoulders even if you’re not scared at all. If jump scares catch either of you off guard, you guys start relentlessly teasing /laughing at each other and probably miss the rest of the movie cause of your dorky shenanigans.

• He’s kind of a nerd and will talk about techie stuff, then immediately try to back track because he thinks he’s boring you. It takes a lot of cuddles and reassurance for him to accept that you love him the way he is. After he comes to accept that fact, he jokingly teases you by randomly asking: “Hey, do you still like me?” “So…like, idk, what are we?” “Do you really think I’m cute?”  (He’ll do this even after you’ve been together for years.)

      Tarn

• Tarn knows he’s suave and charming and will ooze charisma during the early stages of your relationship in an attempt to “seduce” you, and then later on, simply does it to fluster you by amping it up to ridiculous levels. Your reaction amuses him. It may come off as patronizing to others, but he doesn’t truly mean it that way and will tone it down if you tell him to.

• To the surprise of absolutely no one, he sings to you and plays you his favorite music when you two are alone. He has also attempted to compose a tune for you that will remind you of him whenever he can’t be with you. The Empyrean Suite is for…different purposes, and even though it’s constantly playing, he’d rather write something specific and special for you to associate him with.

• He’s somewhat old-timey with his affection, but not in the same way as Fulcrum. He adores greeting you by bringing your fingertips up to his mask, giving you outdated pet names, and leaving overly romantic poems behind for you to find. He’s very generous with the usual displays of affection too and enjoys calling you out if you get embarrassed. He just thinks you’re adorable.

      Krok

• Krok makes it a priority to ensure you’re healthy and happy, both physically and mentally. Because of this, he dotes on you and is very protective. However, he often forgets to take care of himself and you two end up equally looking out for one another. It’s super effective!

• He is a bit reserved about telling you he loves you and you’ll rarely hear it from him in normal situations. Despite this, he undeniably adores you and shows it in different ways. For example, if you happen to be on medication, he’ll regularly remind you take them. He also saves cans of engex for you, and offers to do things that he knows you enjoy. Constantly tells you to be careful.

• He doesn’t have a mouth, so you’d best kiss him a lot to make up for it. He really loves it when you do. Instead of kisses he is very fond of caressing your face and resting his forehead against yours when you two lay around together. He accidently bonked your face once (i.e. straight out head-butted you) and it traumatized him.  In general, he doesn’t like anyone touching his face due to unpleasant past experiences. You are the only exception.

Chapter Text

      Bluestreak

• Bluestreak takes a little bit of encouragement because he doesn’t want to embarrass himself in front of you. But being the ship’s entertainments officer AND your boyfriend, he’s always up for a little fun, especially if it makes you happy. He loosens up considerably on the dance floor with you and chats away as you two dance together.

• This dork spends way too much time watching human television and probably tries to copy stuff he learned on dancing shows. As a result, most of his dance moves are derived from human culture and you’ll probably recognize his lame attempts to copy them. You love him, but you are also allowed to cringe. Just do it lovingly.

• He doesn’t take himself too seriously when dancing with you and there are plenty of giggles from you guys. He’s a huge bundle of energy and will want to twirl/spin you and will playfully steal kisses from you. You’re just a cutie when you’re dancing away.

     Tarn

• Tarn doesn’t even hesitate when you ask and bows before sweeping you away to an open space. He asks why you wanted to dance with him all of sudden, not that he’s complaining. He doesn’t get to spend as much time with you as he’d like, so he’s content to indulge you. Because of this, he dances really slowly with you and sets a relaxed pace.

• He prefers a Cybertronian dancing style that was popular with the upper castes before the war. It is highly coordinated, smooth, and makes use of the bot’s alt-mode (he’ll take any excuse to transform). However, his heavy frame type and the fact that you’re human (?) means it doesn’t work well, so he settles for generic slow dancing. Goes a lot better if you're Cybertronian.

• He’s very dominant and will always be the one leading. He also enjoys spontaneously dipping, twirling, and embracing you. Like Bluestreak, he’s pretty chill and will make casual conversation, but he can get very teasingly romantic all of a sudden.

     Nightbeat

• Nightbeat honestly will not want to dance. At all. He’ll make half-hearted excuses to avoid having to do it and instead asks if you want to sit around with him. It’s near impossible to get him to dance in a public setting. In private, he’s a bit more open to it, but it still takes a huge amount of pleading. He likes watching you dance though.

• If you actually convince him to dance with you, he’s completely perplexed. He doesn’t know what to do and it makes no sense to him. He has no preferred dancing style because he’s so clueless, but does favor anything that isn’t too energetic.

• You’re completely in charge this time around and he’ll follow your lead. He’ll complain a lot at first, but after a while he grows kind of quiet and settles for watching you as you pull him along. You can catch him smirking at you from time to time. The ultimate mystery in his eyes is how a sweetheart like you could put up with a bot like him.

Chapter Text

• Fortress Maximus grows dangerously quiet and considers putting his gun legs to use. He stands up to defend you from jerkatron and gets completely startled when you start defending him. He knows you can handle yourself but wow; he’s speechless and just watches you in admiration. He’s got a definite soft spot for anyone who feels the need to protect him. When you’re finished, he grabs your hand and quietly thanks you. He feels lucky to have someone like you

• Red Alert freaks out, complete with nervous laughter, and tries to get both of you out of the situation ASAP. It only gets worse when you begin your tirade. He latches onto your arm and tries to calm you down to no avail, pleading with you to not start any conflict because he’s worried for your safety and unsure of his own ability to protect you. When you’re done, he sits you down and begins lecturing you: “(y/n), I love and appreciate you for standing up for me, but are you TRYING to get yourself killed?”  

• Swerve is more peeved at jerkatron flirting with his s/o then any insult thrown his way and lets out a series of sharp jokes at jerkatron’s expense before threatening to ban him from the bar. His jaw hits the ground the second you throw your drink, but when you begin to defend him and he notices the other bot visibly taken aback, he gets the smuggest look on his face. He’s touched that you are standing up for him, especially because he doesn’t think he’s worth defending. He hugs you tightly and thanks you.

• Trailbreaker is probably so drunk he can’t exactly register what’s being said. All he knows is that someone is bothering his babe and that ain’t gonna fly with him. He gets up to drunkenly defuse the situation (or to drunkenly start a fight) until you beat him to it. Like Swerve, he is secretly insecure and is amazed that you genuinely love him enough to defend him without hesitation. He also lowkey thinks you’re kind of hot when you’re pissed and cheers you on the entire time. "Get his ass, babe!"  kind of energy.

Chapter Text

      Rung

• Rung is the mom friend. Need a snack? Rung’s got you covered, fam. Want an opinion on an essay you’re writing? Rung to the rescue. He cares about all of his friends and you are no exception. Whatever you need, he’s there for you. (Unless it’s for something illegal, in which case he’ll tell you he’s not mad at you, just…disappointed.)

• Is constantly surprised that you want to hang out with him because he considers himself a loser. Regularly having your name forgotten does that to his self-esteem. He may vent about wanting to be remembered and will get teary if you take the time to tell him that you will always remember him.

• Activities include: fixing up model ships with him, board games, and philosophical discussions that devolve into utter nonsense just to get the other person to laugh. He is also VERY easily hooked onto sci-fi TV shows and will attempt to pull all-nighters to watch them with you.

      Ultra Magnus

• Ultra Magnus is suspicious at your attempts to befriend him and automatically assumes that you’re trying to get on his good side to get out of trouble. After a while, he’ll ask why you’re so persistent. When he finds out you genuinely want to be his friend apologizes SO MUCH and opens up to you.

• Once he’s comfortable around you, you can find him out of the Magnus armor more often. He’s very glad that you’re his friend and unwittingly talks about you (and someone named Verity) to other people but if he hears someone talking trash about you they are dead. 

• Most of his preferred activities tend to be work-related and serious. However, he adores music and enjoys sharing his favorite tunes with you. To get him to relax, you can introduce him to video games. Despite an initial disapproval, he will become extremely obsessed with games like Professor Layton and Ace Attorney. 

      Ratchet

• Ratchet is the grouchy friend who pretends that he’s got nothing better to do than hang out with you. In reality, he’s very loyal and has always got your back once he’s warmed up to you. He’s constantly telling you not to do anything stupid. He likes you better alive.

• He will complain about everything when you guys talk and will listen to your grievances as well. If you’ve got a talent for snark and sarcasm, you guys end up double teaming Drift poor, innocent mechs who ask for it. He also tells you stories about things he did when he was younger and lectures you to spend your time well.

• Being a medic, he’s skilled with his hands and actually has a knack for building things, which he enjoys doing with you. Just do NOT play the Operation Game with him. He’ll rage.

      Fortress Maximus

• Fortress Maximus is happy to have you as a friend, but he’s a bit awkward and has trouble showing you his appreciation. Instead, he makes a habit of checking in on you to make sure if you’re okay. If for some reason you two are apart, he’ll occasionally call you to chat. He ends acting a lot like a big brother.

• He’s a very good listener and prefers to hear you chatter away about anything. He’ll tell you about things he knows you’re interested in and is touched if you return the favor. He can actually get pretty excitable about subjects he likes and is glad that you let him ramble on.

• He’ll teach you basic self-defense and will let you spar with him to practice your new moves, but will always go easy on you because of his size. Since he’s constantly involved in combat situations, his favorite activities are generally low energy and relaxing, like star-gazing and watching movies with you. He just needs a break.

Chapter Text

• Pharma quickly notices your change in mood/habits and decides to just give you space. He’ll ask how you’re doing, but otherwise doesn’t make a big deal out of it. If he sees this going on for any longer than a day, he’ll get really serious and sit you down to have a talk. He may appear angry but is really just worried and terrible at expressing it.

• He rarely stops working, but decides to leave the others in charge for a day to take care of you and spoil you rotten. He’ll fly you to someplace sunny to spend the day since he despises cold weather/snow and thinks the warmth will help you.

• Once there, he confesses that he’s been really worn out because of some “fragging tank with an addiction” and hasn’t been paying attention to you as a result. He promises to make up for it, especially in your current state of mind. He begins spending WAY more time with you and monitoring your behavior to make sure you’re okay.

• When comforting you, his affection becomes noticeably gentler and less condescendingly romantic, as it usually comes off. He’s sincerely concerned with your well being and wants to show you that you’re important to him. You keep him sane. Mostly.

Chapter Text

      Megatron

• Megatron is casual and polite around you before your relationship is official. He might come off as distant, but he just really likes you and doesn’t want to scare you off. A lot of people think of him badly for obvious reasons and he hopes you aren’t one of them. If you give him plenty of hints about your feelings for him, he’ll reluctantly make the first move and ask you to be his s/o.

• As a result of his writing skills, he’s surprisingly romantic and will write embarrassing poems about you, not that he’ll ever show them to anyone. In general, he’s way more affectionate when he’s alone with you and loves to hold you close to have deep discussions about the universe and morality.

• He isn’t all goopy and soft though and you guys probably become the old married couple that always bickers but loves each other behind the scenes. He’ll nag you to not do stupid things that he did and to not fall in with bad people and stop staying up so late for frag’s sake. Then he’ll instantly turn around and tell you to be safe, he loves you. He’s pleasantly surprised that he’s become comfortable enough to fall into this dynamic with you.

      Fortress Maximus

• Fortress Maximus thinks he doesn’t even stand a chance asking you out and acts like an awkward teenager with a crush. It’s obvious to everybody that he cares about you but he puts up a gruff façade anyways. He sputters and drops it completely when you ask him out (he’s too nervous to make the first move) and everybody collectively goes: “Finally…”  

• He’s a warborn who’s been through a lot. He’s in need of affection and will always melt when you cuddle him or even take the time to kiss him. After a while he gets more comfortable and is able to show you a bit more affection. He also loves holding your hand because you’re likely tiny in comparison to him and he’s not used to anything so gentle and soft or to people who treat him as well as you do.

• He can get extremely protective of you and switch back to his aloof, combat mode when he feels your safety is threatened. Your relationship develops hints of a bodyguard and caretaker roles with you two regularly switching roles. He’s still in a healing process and appreciates it if you are patient with him though he understands it can be hard. 

      Rung

• Rung thinks you are the most precious thing in the universe. You deserve the best and he settles for quietly being your friend, under the assumption that he’s not good enough to be your s/o. You have to make the first move, and when you do it probably becomes one of the best days of his very long life. Of all the people to choose you chose him, and he’ll never get over it.

• Rung is more openly affectionate in private. He’s good at snuggling your worries away and giving you cute little kisses when you least expect it because you’re just too cute.  Please reciprocate with cuddles otherwise this poor cinnamon roll will think he’s wasting your time.

• You guys end up being the kind of couple that people assume have always just been there. No grandiose declarations of love or constant butterflies or emotional roller coasters. You don’t need any of those to know you two are undeniably in love. Everybody can see it. All relationships have their ups and downs but for the most, you two are a picture of stability, trust, and mutual support.

Chapter Text

      You are Cybertronian.

• Fortress Maximus freaks out and gets very flustered upon registering you. Who is this bot? What are these feelings? Why is his spark doing this flaring thing? He steals glances at you in curiosity before checking to see if you have a badge or signs of any former affiliation. He breathes a sigh of relief if you are a Neutral/Autobot, but becomes angry at himself if he finds out you’re a Decepticon. (It takes WAY longer for him to act on his feelings and accept you if you’re a Con.) Either way he leaves before he embarrasses himself. He does not stop wondering about you.

• Sunstreaker is intrigued. A bot almost as gorgeous as he is? Surely, that must be impossible yet here you are. He casually strikes up conversations with you, lets you pet Bob, and hints that he’d like to hang out with you more. Inside, he’s vaguely unsettled by his attraction to you and is kind of nervous, which is weird for him. He’s usually pretty confident but now he’s hyper-aware of the fact that a lot of bots don’t like him. He’s praying that you won’t be one of them cause he hasn’t felt this way about another Cybertronian in a long time, and he can’t blow his chances now.

• Whirl has no filter. He’s weirded out by his sudden attraction to you and goes over to pick a fight, positive that you’re doing something funny to his brain with your secret mind powers. It’s actually his excuse to go talk to you. After some convincing that you’re harmless, he settles down and there’s no getting out from here. He chatters away and hits on you. He’s pretty much got no shame and tells you you’re hot, then he switches to asking you intrusive questions about your altmode. After your first meeting, he tones it down a lot and pops up randomly to say hi to you or hang out. He doesn’t forget his strange feelings for you but outside of his terrible pick-up lines, he hides it well.

• Rodimus is immediately awestruck by you and doesn’t hesitate to show it. He strolls over and doesn’t try to hide the fact that he’s flirting with you. Tries SUPER hard to impress you: “Captain of the Lost Light, Matrix bearer, super rad paint job, I’m sure you’ve heard of me.  *wink*.” He probably comes off as a douchebag in his attempts to charm you, even though he genuinely likes you. He’ll apologize the next time he sees you and asks to start over. He becomes a lot friendlier but still occasionally flirts with you. It’s very easy to catch him looking at you with the same dorky, enamored look he had when he first saw you.

Chapter Text

• Rodimus thinks this is some kind of trick and is apprehensive, but plays it off by being nonchalant and kind of disinterested. He’ll listen to what you have to say but doesn’t think much of it, even joking around with you. He’s insanely immature around people he’s not on good terms with and it shows. When he discovers that that was your last call he’s visibly distraught and regrets being such a dick, retreating to his room to think about what happened. He likely will never forget it, and wants to know what happened to you.  

• Drift finds your call very cryptic and a foreboding sign. Despite not really getting along with you in the past and finding you somewhat suspicious, he is very gentle when talking to you. He tries to calm you down and asks you what’s wrong, or if you’re in danger and you need help. He quickly accepts any apologies and offers some of his own to you, but it doesn’t appease his worries. He suggests many methods to pacify you, be it meditations or breathing exercises. After finding out that was your last call, he becomes very withdrawn and guilty. He feels haunted by what happened (metaphorically and somewhat literally)

• Rung acts as if you two were never on bad terms to begin with. He’s been around for a while now, after all, and has learned how to forgive anything. Like Drift, he’s concerned and immediately begins to console you so he could assess whether or not your in trouble. He tells you that you have nothing to apologize for and tries to subtly change the subject by asking about your life, and how you’re doing. He will honestly admit that he’s a bit worried and doesn’t want you to hang up. If you do, and he finds out that was your last call ever, he becomes extremely guilty and blames himself. He believes that he could have helped you.

• Whirl is more suspicious than everyone else combined and doesn’t really want to hear what you have to say to him. He’ll be obnoxious and insensitive, but after your apologies/encouragement, he becomes uneasy. He straight out asks you what you’re playing at or is this some kind of stupid joke. He’ll stop talking over you and being rude because you’re starting to freak him out, which he’ll also tell you.  He makes you slow down and gives you the kind of terrible life advice that only a Whirl would give you. He becomes quiet and confused when he learns that it was your last call. Why did you call him of all people? Should he have done something more? It frustrates him.

Chapter Text

      Cyclonus

• Cyclonus is a bit startled the very first time you do it, especially if you don’t give him any warning. He kind of looks at you in shock for a moment like why would you do this to me, I don’t even have cheeks. Then he goes back to being his usual broody and stoic self, not acknowledging your little smooch. He still thinks it was sweet of you but you likely won’t ever hear that from him. You’re too good for this world.

• Still gets blushy if you try to do it again but doesn’t freak out like attempt #1. Still doesn’t admit your kisses are cute, but he actually likes it so much that he prefers it to the conventional kisses on the lips. ;) He’s old as balls and his brand of affection is probably more reserved and FREAKING ANCIENT. (Just like he is.) He’ll reciprocate with his own little chaste cheek smoochies sometimes and never makes a big deal out of it. It just happens.

      Megatron

• Megatron is very touched, though he doesn’t show it. He doesn’t expect anyone to treat a former warlord tenderly but you continually defy that expectation. He will probably think about it for the rest of the day, especially if you haven’t done this before. Like Cyclonus, he will never bring it up again. He still thinks it was a very romantic gesture and appreciates your affection.

• He doesn’t have much of a reaction any other time you try to do this again, but prefers that you not do it in public.  In private, he’s got no problem giving you a parting kiss whenever he needs to leave for a meeting with Magnus, getting Roddy out of trouble, or saying goodnight to you.  In the past, he wouldn’t be caught dead showing physical affection to anybody. You helped him open up a more, even if it’s just a little bit.

      Skids

• Skids is a SLY LITTLE FRAGGER and is good at reading body language. He knows what you’re going to do before you even go in for a kiss. He turns his head as you lean in so you kiss him on the lips and then laughs at you if you get flustered. He’ll apologize if he senses that you’re pissed, or if he accidentally bonked your face. Otherwise, he’ll tease you about it, jokingly bragging about how smooth he is, and lets you try again. He just likes your kisses.

• Adores your kisses, especially if you do it around his friends. Also has no problem returning your affection and randomly steals kisses from you. He’s naturally affectionate with people who are close to him but he really likes the fact that you take time to reciprocate. Easy to tell when he wants your more of your smooches cause he drops blatant hints. 

      Whirl

• Whirl is confused at first, like what’s the point of kissing a faceless bot, but hey that was hella cute so whatever. He quickly becomes amused and goads you into letting him return the favor. He will literally peck you. Like a space chicken. It soon becomes an inside joke between the two of you, with bots frequently questioning you as to why Whirl likes to chase you around, trying to lightly jab you with his face. He won’t do it ever again if he ends up poking you too hard, but he’ll find different ways for sure.

• Doesn’t understand why you keep trying to kiss him, but he secretly likes the attention and provides unnecessary commentary on any other smoochies you try to give him in the future just to annoy you. After a while, he muses about wanting his pre-empurata face back so he can kiss you back like "a real mech". Brags about the super amazing lips he used to have. He’d probably give Overlord a run for his money.

Chapter Text

      Vos

• Vos will gently caress your face and speak to you in his characteristic Primal Vernacular. He knows you don’t completely understand what he’s saying. You’d assume he’s tryna be romantic and declaring his love or something but lol NOPE. He’s actually being a dick and jokingly insulting you or spewing random crap. Whether it’s telling you that bears love sushi or poetically comparing your chapped lips to the Sea of Rust, he likes to play around with you.  (Until someone starts translating…)

• His idea of a fun date is letting you use him when he’s in his alt-mode to shoot up little targets he set up for you. Not only does he think it’s a blast, he also really wants you to know how to protect yourself. He’d lose it if you ever got hurt, so he teaches you how to effectively beat people up and practically glows with pride when you put them skills to use.

• Since he’s constantly being taught, he’s thrilled if he gets the chance to teach his s/o his own language. He becomes excited if you nail the pronunciation, but if you struggle he’s very patient because he understands that it’s difficult. Teaches you everything from conversational to romantic phrases.  If you get REALLY good you guys start trashing on other DJD members together like it’s a national pastime.

      Kaon

• Kaon switches between being a deliberate tease who likes to play rough to someone who freaks out if he gives you a tiny shock. When he’s feeling playful he’ starts mock fights, easily picking you up or pinning you down, but heaven forbid he accidentally zap you or worse: step on your toes. He will immediately grab you and apologize over and over until you tell him to shut up: “Sorry! Sorry, sweetspark, I didn’t mean to do that, are you alright? I’m so sorry."

• Loves lounging around with you and cuddling. He’s pretty touchy, so you can count on many kisses and the like. He never lets you touch the Tesla coils unless he is 100% sure that it is safe enough. His constant desire for physical contact results in overly dramatic grievances from him if you so much as take a shower. If you’re wet, he’s not going near you. At all.

• In public, he’s his usual stoic and cold self but around you he’s the exact opposite. In fact, this jerk can get surprisingly romantic, especially if he has to be far away from you for a while to do his job. He’ll regularly call to video chat with you and may leave the Pet behind to keep you company. Asks how his two favorite darlings are doing. Also reminds you how much he loves and misses you. The rest of the team thinks that forcing a mech to listen to Kaon’s doting is a very effective torture method.

Chapter Text

      Fulcrum

• Fulcrum’s peace keeping protocols kick in immediately and he’s instantly holding you tightly and stroking your hair. He will gently ask if you want to talk or do something to get your mind off of your nightmare. I’s okay, he’s here and you’re safe. He’ll probably cuddle you to death. Nightmares are a big deal to him, he knows how you feel. Just ask him about Styx. Luckily, you two have each other now.

• He listens carefully to what you have to say if you decide to talk about it. He only leaves to get you something warm to drink to soothe you. He’s intent on making you as comfortable as possible so you can go back to bed. Expect lots of kisses and lots of blankets to be thrown at you. He’ll probably blow the situation out of proportion because he’s a concerned mother hen.

• Jokingly offers to bore you to sleep with his tech talk or stories and isn’t above being silly or cheesy to make you laugh. Will tell you funny stories and make god awful impersonations. Also tells you that you are scary when you don’t get enough sleep, so go to bed nerd. He’ll be nearby if you need him.

      Kaon

• Kaon hates to see you distressed and calmly asks you to tell him what’s wrong. He doesn’t say anything when you explain you’ve had a nightmare. He just pulls you closer to him until your basically in his lap and he’s telling you that’s it’s over now and that he’s here for you.

• Tells you nothing could ever hurt you when you have such an electrifying boyfriend who loves you dearly.  Despite that, he urges you to tell him about your nightmare so he can lay your fears to rest, spend precious time cuddling you, and figure out if he needs to kill whatever caused your nightmare.

• Strokes your cheek a lot and teases you by being patronizing cause he’s a dick but really does care about his loved ones. Urges you to go to sleep but if decide you aren’t sleepy anymore, he doesn’t push it. He’d rather you go back to bed but will indulge you if you want to stay up. Doesn’t take much for this mech to spoil you rotten if you’re in distress.

      Rodimus

• Rodimus is worried after hearing you’ve had a nightmare. There’s a period of silence before you can see the light bulb in his head turn on. He’s got a plan for once: He must forsake his identity as Rodimus Prime and become…a Rescue Bot. This  dork obnoxiously rolls to the rescue and explains that he’s gotta save you from the bad dreams.

• If for some reason you didn’t fall asleep in bed, he picks you bridal-style and takes you there, complete with fake emergency siren noises that wake up everyone in the vicinity.  Otherwise, he rescues you by attacking you with his medicinal kisses, hoping to chase your nightmares away.  He just wants to hear your cute laugh.

• Once he’s settled down, he seriously asks if you want to discuss your nightmare or sneak out somewhere and hang out. (Seriously he will offer to take you on a ride in the Rodpod.) Either way, he’s staying with you the entire night and making sure you get a good night’s sleep. Reminds you that he’s here for you and nothing can hurt you when Roddy’s here.

Chapter Text

• Ten: A large bouquet of synthetic flowers in all of your favorite colors. (Think spark flowers without the death part!) Completely hand-made with intricate light patterns that shoot through the translucent petals. They’re modeled after earth flowers and forever in bloom. You bet he put his all into making something for you!

• Minimus: He creates an entire playlist of songs that remind him of you, from your personality to your cute little quirks. He puts it on a CD for you to listen to. Of course, he buys all of the songs first because illegal downloads? Pfft who do you think he is? 

• Ratchet: He’s that old ass grandpa that gets you socks, tbh. He will get you practical things or things you use for your hobbies: i.e. sketchbooks if you like to doodle, replacement guitar/violin strings for musicians, etc. Dig a bit deeper and you will find a sweet hand written note. It’d probably express his feelings for you a bit better. ;)

Chapter Text

      Rodimus

• Rodimus takes you to do all of your favorite things to cheer you up. He honestly isn’t quite sure how to help, but he hates to see you unhappy and is determined to comfort you. He brings out all of your favorite movies, snacks, and wraps you up in blankets. Randomly barges into your hab suite like “’sup cutie” and cuddles you to death cause he’s good at that.

• Awkwardly encourages you to talk to him but immediately stops if you make it clear you don’t want to.  He otherwise acts pretty upbeat and energetic to lighten the mood, but underneath it all, he’s terribly concerned and still wants you to discuss your feelings with him. Yes, he might get frustrated but he’ll always get it back together enough to own up to any mistakes he’s made.

• He will shower you with affection and remind you that he loves you, even more than he already does. All he knows is that your mind may be telling you some pretty nasty lies right now and he’s there to tell you it’s all false. You’re so important to him and without you he’d probably be a hot mess rather than a hot rod. :)

      Ratchet

• Ratchet pretty much confronts you immediately and asks you to tell him how he can help you. He does anything you want and gets anything you ask for within reason and without complaint.   He knows your state of mind is no laughing matter and is serious when taking care of you. Still isn’t a pushover though and won’t allow you do anything detrimental to your health.

• Encourages you to get out and exercise, even if it’s just a bit of walking around. He will accompany you and talk to temporarily get your mind away from negative thoughts. This is the one of the rare times where he won’t object to you trying to hold his hand in public.

• He’s doesn’t really make a habit of it, but he does try to make a point to tell you how much you mean to him and your friends and family. He knows you probably don’t believe it at the moment, but he’s going to try to show you even if it he has to live another lifetime to do so.

      Skids

• Skids will take you someplace quiet and peaceful like an observation deck to have a talk with you. He’s incredibly concerned and can tell when you try to downplay your feelings since he’s learned your behavioral tells. There’s really no use hiding anything from him and he wants to make it clear that you can tell him anything. He’s got your back.

• Swoops into your room to kiss you and spontaneously take you on a date. He will sneak you away and go on long drives with you, get your favorite food, and spend time with you whenever he can because he doesn’t want you to think that you’re alone or that nobody cares. ( Psst, you’re not and he loves you.) If you’ve got the energy for it, this nerd will want to take you to theme parks or dance clubs.

• Skids doesn’t exactly like himself and he’s cynical underneath it all, but he’ll be damned if he lets you go on thinking badly of yourself. Maybe along the way you’ll both learn to love yourselves the way you love each other. His outward attitude of course betrays nothing and he’s got a near constant smirk and is always joking around with you. Seeing you laugh makes him happy.

Chapter Text

      Rodimus

• Rodimus acts like he’s not panicking but he totally is: “Oh Primus, what if she’s found someone cooler than I am? I mean like if that’s even possible, but what if she doesn’t even like me anymore? OH MY GOD what if she’s been kidnapped. What if–” He goes around asking the crew if they’ve seen you and his overall behavior becomes very snippy and cranky.

• “How the hell have you been in here the whole time without me noticing?” He’s happy to have finally found you but you had him all wound up for nothing. He pouts a little until he notices your art.

• He’s speechless upon seeing your painting. Rodimus is far more clever than he lets on. The fractured state of Cybertron, his home, does sadden him; your art reminds him that the whole point of the quest is finding the Knights of Cybertron to restore their planet’s glory. He doesn’t stay sad for long. You and the Lost Light are his home now. He tells you that he really loves your painting and he knows everybody else will love it too. Then he ruins a nice moment by going: “Yo you should totally draw me, I’ll model for you.”

      Ultra Magnus

• Ultra Magnus feels a bit insecure about your prolonged absence, but convinces himself that maybe you just want some space. When he realizes nobody else has seen you around either, he gets concerned and goes looking.

• Is half relieved and half disapproving when he finds you in your shared hab suite. “(Name), you can’t spend all of your time holed up in—I thought we agreed to keep our habitation suite clean! Why is there paint on the walls?” He puts the pieces together when he sees your painting.

• To him, Cybertron before the war was Functionism and living under someone else’s shadow. There’s not much that he misses. He thinks your painted Cybertron is idealistic, too perfect despite being unfinished. He’ll beat himself up for being naïve but maybe, just maybe, Cybertron may truly look like that one day.  For now, he’s happier here, now, and with you. Tells you he’s very impressed but makes you promise to take breaks, your painting is huge and is going to take time.

      Whirl

• Whirl actually becomes anxious and moody, he plays around with ridiculous theories regarding your disappearance but it’s all distractions to keep him away from the very real possibility that you’ve simply abandoned him or you no longer love him. He goes looking for you to find the truth.

• He’s thrilled to find you in the hab suite and just plops on the ground to be closer to you, inadvertently getting paint on himself. “Babe, where the frag did you get all of this paint? Don’t tell me you stole it—no wait, wait, I take that back. You stole ‘em didn’t you, aw ya little badass, I’m rubbing off on you, aren’t I?”

• Always impressed to see you creating things, he thinks your painting is gorgeous and that you’re crazy for attempting to paint something so huge. He doesn’t dwell on any pre-war feelings that he might be reminded of when looking at your art, but he does casually bring up his old watch shop in Polyhex. He leaves you to it but regularly drops in to check on you and annoy you. You’re painting doesn’t stay secret for long

      Drift

• Drift is concerned about your whereabouts and goes looking for you. If for some reason he thought you left him for someone else, he’d grow very quiet and become prone to lashing out at people. He decides not to jump to conclusions for now

• He’s relieved to have found you but notices your painting before acknowledging you. “Wait, is that Cybertron? How do you know what Cybertron looked like before the war? Not that it isn’t beautiful, it is!” He picks you up on his palm so you two can admire your handiwork together.

• Drift does NOT like to be reminded of his past. Instead, he brings up religious sites on Cybertron that he wants to show you someday, compliments your lovely painting techniques, and tells you how excited he is to find the Knights of Cybertron. He can’t wait to see your art in Swerve’s bar and promises to keep it a secret. He really does believe Cybertron will be as beautiful as your painting when the quest is over.
