Ina was on cloud 9. The gentle feeling of Kiara’s warm fingers threading through her pearly white feathers filled the priestess with a pleasant buzz. A gentle glow was emitted from Kiara’s sparking hair, the only light in an otherwise pitch-dark room. Ina hummed, nuzzling further into the phoenix’s soft embrace.
Occasionally, one of Kiara’s soft, orange ears would flicker, her fluffy tail trailing across Ina’s thighs, making her shuffle at the touch. She could hear Kiara muffle her cheeky laughter whenever she did this, which only resulted in a faux annoyed Ina.
“I was just thinking…” Ina started, now having a hold on Kiara’s hand, threading their fingers together. Kiara raised her head and rested it on the priestess’s collar bone, eyes tilted upward to look at her.
“Who else in Hololive has wings? Obviously Kanata-senpai and Coco-senpai, but I feel like there’s someone else” Kiara hummed, pursing her lips as she thought.
“Well, you an’ me for starters, then IRyS.. Oh! Can’t forget Calli” Kiara chortled. Ina nodded along, almost completely missing the last part.
“Wait, Calli has wings?” Kiara nodded earnestly, trying to push herself further into Ina’s warmth as she purred and wrapped an arm around the tako’s shoulders.
“She’s a reaper, an angel of death you could say. Though ever since they figured out how to teleport you don’t really see them anymore” Ina’s ear flaps twitched in curiosity, chewing on her lip in thought.
As the phoenix cat kept purring and nuzzling into the crook of Ina’s neck, her hands tracing the larger feathers of Ina’s wings as she did so. Ina, however, was more focused on the new information she had been given. Her artist mind was racing, trying to visualize a Calliope with wings.
“They look really pretty” Kiara spoke as if she were reading Ina’s thoughts, her hands running up and down Ina’s own wings.
“Kinda ashy grey with a mix of silver, like a cloudy night sky” Kiara trailed off, interrupted by a yawn. “But touching them feels like plunging your hands in a bucket of ice water” Fluffy orange cat ears tickled Ina’s nose as Kiara nuzzled under her chin, her tail drifting over her thighs.
Before Ina could ask anymore questions, the phoenix promptly fell asleep, snoring almost comically loudly. The priestess just sighed and wiggled one arm free so she could thread her fingers through Kiara’s hair.
She lay there for what felt like hours, simply basking in the warmth and comfort. Every now and then Ina would nod off, feeling her eyes close of their own accord. Every time Kiara would shuffle around, promptly waking Ina up, leaving her in a drowsy state.
The brushing of embers against feathers reminded Ina of how intertwined her wings were with the phoenixes and thinking of wings just brought her back to visualisations of what a Calliope with wings would look like.
Would they add to her already imposing figure of death, hold arched above her head as the flaming sun of the underworld blacked out her silhouette? Would they give her a more downy look, like Kanata-Senpai? Wings held close to her body and fluffed out like an indignant Kiara?
“Hey, Ina? Kiara?” The soft click of the opening door followed by the almost inaudible voice of Calliope suddenly pulled Ina out of her thoughts.
The priestess turned her head somewhat to look at the new coming, her pink hair and pale skin turned reddish among Kiara’s golden glow. Her wine-red gaze softened seeing two of her girlfriends so relaxed, napping and lazing around in a sleepy haze.
Calli shuffled over to them, leaning down to kiss both Ina and Kiara on the forehead before opening her mouth to speak. Kiara thought otherwise and brought one of her wings up to pull the reaper into their pile.
“GUH-?” Calli squawked, arms flailing outwards at the sudden pull. Kiara chuckled and Ina snorted, hiding her laughter behind her hand.
“You’re too busy Calli~ You’ve been working nonstop all week, take a break with us” The phoenix murmured into the crook of Calli’s neck, arms wrapping around her from as Kiara embraced her from behind. Ina shuffled around, letting the reaper be sandwiched between the two of them.
She began sputtering over her words, trying to throw out weak excuse after weak excuse about why she had to return to her office. Kiara just whined, clinging closer to Calli as she slowly started to fall asleep again.
“Just one night? Please Calli” Ina begged, her ear flaps flopping against her head like a sad puppy. Calli groaned and accepted her fate, wrapping an arm around Kiara’s waist and tucking Ina’s head under her chin.
Ina’s question of Calli’s wings remained forgotten as her body became heavier and heavier, the feeling of sleep lulling over her until the entire world was swallowed by darkness.

It was dark when Ina woke up, like, pitch-black dark. The glow and warmth of Kiara’s wings had disappeared as the phoenix fell into a deep sleep. Though as the priestess remained squished between the two, warmth was nothing she was short of.
“Mm.. You awake Ina?” Calli’s groggy voice sounded from above her, and Ina’s ear flaps perked up the tiniest bit. She shuffled around a bit to face the reaper properly, a faint red glow of the reaper’s eyes was the only light in the dark room.
“I’m… not asleep” Ina mumbled, her mouth dry. Calli nodded and ran her fingers along the length of the priestess’s wings, relishing in the silky softness of her down feathers brushing against her fingertips.
Ina shivered and huddled closer to Calli, grumbling as she chuckled at her reaction.
“Hang on.. Kiara told me something before you came in last night” Ina struggled to recall those hazy hours, the warmth and fuzziness blending the time together. She ‘hmm’-ed and ‘haw’-ed as she thought until it finally clicked in her two braincells.
“Kiara said you had wings! I wanna see them” Ina pulled Calli’s hands away from her wings, and instead clasped her own around the reaper’s slender fingers. She looked surprised that Kiara remembered or that Ina seemed so excited to see them.
Calli briefly glanced at Kiara’s still sleeping form, then to Ina’s shining face, her night vision granting her the ability to see every adorable detail. Her non-existent heart thudded in her chest and Calli felt her ability to say ‘no’ dwindle every second Ina continued to plead.
“Fine, alright. Lemme just make sure Kusotori is warm and comfy” Calli grumbled as Ina slipped out of her grasp like water, slipping out the door to waist outside. The reaper looked after her for a few moments before grabbing a blanket out of nowhere and tucking it around Kiara’s shoulders. After a few moments, Calli leaned forward and brushed Kiara’s bangs out of the way, placing a single, chilled kiss on her forehead.
Calli found Ina waiting out on the patio, now dressed in one of Amelia’s baggy hoodies and a pair of shark themed sweatpants. A fluffy, orange and pink scarf was wrapped around her neck. If you had asked the reaper, Ina looked positively adorable bundled up like that, but she didn’t come here to gawk over Ina’s cuteness.
Calli took a few graceful steps over the dew-tipped grass, the light of the moon outlining her figure as she stood in the clearing. Ina watched with bated breath as the area grew considerably colder, and the feeling of death and compression hung in the air. Ao-Chan grumbled in her mind, seemingly shooing the feeling away with a stray tentacle.
Frost particles danced in the air, flowing and crystalizing into the form of large, elegant feathers that brushed against the ground. Ina silently cheered, noting that she was right with at least on of her predictions.
Her curiousness got the best of her wits as Kiara’s warnings about touching Calli’s wings faded from her mind. Ina instantly regretted her decision.
It was less like plunging your hands in a bucket of ice water, and more like shoving your hands into a container of freezing hydrogen peroxide.
Calli flinched away at the feeling of Ina’s hand, partially due to the fact that having anyone touching her wings was a foreign feeling that she didn’t quite like, and partially due to the fact Ina’s face paled several shades as she tugged her hand away as quickly as possible.
“Ina! Are you ok?” Calli’s wings disappeared in a stray breeze as the reaper rushed over to check on her girlfriend. Pale blue skin quickly thawed out and regained colour, Ina whispering and muttering quietly under her breath.
‘Probably to Ao-Chan. Yea, Ao-Chan healed her and everything is fine’ Calli calmed her, gently grasping Ina’s hand in her own, knowing that it did little to help.
“Let’s go back to Kiara.. I’m sleepy again” Ina yawned, slipping her fingers in between Calli’s as she tugged her back inside.
