Work Text:
It was a warm late morning. The sky was fading from a blood red to a sky blue. Link was looking at Zelda who was still glowing from her power. He could see her glowing hair flowing through the wind. Wow, He thought. She’s so… beautiful. Her skin, her eyes is so goddess like.
Zelda was talking, but link didn’t listen. He was to caught up looking at her beauty. When Link did finally zone back into the outside world, he heard Zelda say-
“Do you really remember me?”
He hesitated. What do I say? I don’t want to say the wrong thing. “I, I don’t know”, he said, voice full of guilt.
Zelda tilted her head, confused. “What is it?”
Link didn’t say anything. Instead, he started tearing up. “I just, I feel so guilty. You had to hold off ganon for 100 years while I was sleeping.” Zelda tried to run to him for a hug, but as soon as she started running her gave out and she fell over. Link ran to her side to help her up. As soon as she was on her knees she gave Link a tight hug that made him feel the warmth that was radiating from her.
“Fuck. I’ve missed you Link. And again, I’m sorry for the way I treated you. You were just sound what was told.”
”I forgive you. And I’ve missed you too. I would do anything to keep you safe. That’s how much I love you.” The hug lasts for a couple more seconds and then they both pull away.
In a worried tone, Zelda says, “What are we going to do now? So much is destroyed.”
“I don’t know, but that doesn’t matter right now. What matters right now is teaching you how to walk again.”
“Oh fuck you! You have to admit that it took you a while to figure out how to walk again when you woke up.”
“Yeah, it did.” Link says sheepishly. They both then burst out into laughter, but it abruptly stops when Zelda started having a coughing fit. “Hey, are you okay?” Link asks with worry filling his voice.
“You stink of dirt, sweat, and blood!”
“Yeah, let’s get to Kakriko. For my sake and yours. I also want to get there by sundown.” Link helps Zelda up on her feet when she surprisingly kisses Link on the cheek. Both of their cheeks turn bright pink. He smiles and helps Zelda onto his white stallion. They ride to Kakriko filled with joy that the calamity is finally gone.
