Sirius giggled, twirling around, with his hair flying loose in the breeze. The overgrown grass rustled and late autumn leaves shook to the ground with wind that seemed to circle in an upwards tornado. He turned to Remus who was reluctantly wandering behind him. Remus glanced up to meet Sirius’ eyes and in that moment, he couldn't help but match his lover's smile.
Remus liked fall but could not challenge Sirius’ undying love for the season that brought crisp air, crunchy leaves and fiery hues which covered the Earth like a blanket. The ideal day Remus had in mind as the sun came up was watching the day through a window, book in hand and Sirius laying in his lap. Now he found himself outside in the field in front of the Potter’s house. It was nearing Halloween and the days grew colder, proved by the chilling air that seeped through Remus’ jumper. Even though fall came every year, Sirius wanted to be in the center of it all. He wanted to soak up every drop of autumn before the cold of the later months fell upon them. It had been his idea to go outside and had dragged Remus along with him. After all, there wouldn’t be a day better spent as long as his boyfriend was by his side.
The wind was dying down but Sirius was still in good spirits and Remus was beginning to let go of his stern demeanor he often kept up. Silent words were exchanged as Sirius grabbed his hands, only smiling wider in order to spin Remus around with him. Remus no longer felt the cold as he was reminded of the undying love he held for Sirius.
