Work Text:

Trucy stares blankly, unimpressed.

"Don't you have any thoughts about that?" Polly asks, that sweet child. She doesn't know if it's Main Character Syndrome, to be completely unaware of the things happening despite them happening to or around you. How is it that Polly can be so smart one moment, yet so dense the next?

"Why would I have any thoughts about Uncle Edgeworth and Daddy?" Trucy clicks her tongue, watching the clouds from her window seat. "They're friends. And well, there could be more there, but that's up to them."

Apollo seems focused on the road, his hands gripping securely onto the steering wheel. The little bumps in the road make his hair spikes ( Trucy, come on, they're bangs that stick up ) bounce slightly. He looks oddly cute from this angle, but Trucy continues to pretend she's only staring at the sky from here.

"Don't you think they should just stop fumbling and kiss already?"

It sounds an awful lot like Klavier's own -- "Is there something between them? You can tell me. Ja, I won't tell a single soul, just, aren't you tired of them pretending there's nothing there?"

Speaking of Klavier...

Trucy forms a grin upon her mouth.

"I don't think it's any of my business," she says slowly, trying to formulate her statement to be as neutral as possible. "Just as it's none of my business what you have for Prosecutor Gavin."

Apollo doesn't say anything to that, but the aura around him has definitely changed.

"The only thing I'm tired of is being asked to play matchmaker. My Daddy and Uncle Edgeworth..." Trucy looks down at the pavement outside on the street. "If they want to get together, then good for them. I just want them to be happy."

"There's nothing between me and Prosecutor Gavin."

Trucy smiles. "Exactly."

The car slows to a stop as Trucy recognizes the Wright Anything Office before them. They both reach for their seatbelts, but Trucy holds her hand there for a moment.

"Just like how there's nothing going on between Daddy and Uncle Edgeworth. If there is, good for them. If there isn't, then good for them. If there will be something there, then they can figure it out for themselves."

Trucy unbuckles her seatbelt, making her way out of the car in a breeze.

"I'm just a kid, learning to become a young adult. They're grown adults." Trucy closes her eyes. "You're one, too. Act like it, maybe."

She skips away, leaving Apollo to close and lock the car before following her into the office.
