Chapter Text
Hazel:
I was the first one to notice the doors. We had just finished fighting a group of Cyclops and empusa when I heard the faint ding of and elevator, no one else seemed to hear it. Piper and Leo had collapsed on the ground trying to catch their breath, Jason and Nico were in the cave entrance keeping watch for any more monsters and Frank was standing next to me trying to get the golden monster dust out of his eyes.
"Guys," I took a few steps towards the doors. They didn't open but kept dinging.
"The button. Press it or the doors won't open" Nico was the one talking while making his way towards the doors. Leo and Piper were starting to get up and everyone seemed to gravitate to the elevator.
Doing as told I pressed the button half expecting another wave of monsters to come, but to my horror and relief two demigods crumpled to the ground in front of me. I grabbed the blondes head before it hit the ground while Frank grabbed the raven haired boy.
Jason:
I wasn't expecting Percy and Annabeth to come skipping out of Tartarus holding a basket of flowers but this was so much worse. Percy's whole front half was covered in blood and had three gigantic claw marks going across his whole torso. He had blood streaming from the corner of his mouth and his eyes were scrunched up like he was trying to push bad memories away or trying to stay alive. Annabeth didn't look much better. Her once blonde princess curls now reddened with blood stuck to Hazels arms. She wore a brown shirt that looked to be made out of potato bags over top what he could only assume to be her camp Half-blood shirt, her jeans were torn and tattered and she still had her bubble wrap splint on, though it didn't appear to be much help. Stepping closer I could hear Annabeth muttering something that sounded like 'Percy' but I couldn't be to sure. I also noticed all the other cuts and bruises that littered their bodies.
"Ambrosia." Piper was the first one to break the stunned silence, "Does anyone have any ambrosia or nectar?" Everyone patted their pockets but to no luck.
Leo was next to speak, "we need to get them to coach hedge, he can help. I hope" he muttered the last part I still caught it.
Nobody moved for awhile not really wanting to pick them up, they looked dead which really worried me. They had to help them no matter how bad they looked they were their friends, so Iwalked to Percy's feet and hooked his hands around his ankles.
"Piper, Hazel you two take Annabeth and me and Frank will take Percy. Nico you shadow-travel up to the ship and tell coach to be ready" Everyone nodded and Nico disappeared into the shadows.
Piper:
When they picked up Annabeth I was stunned, she was as light as a feather. Oh gods I thought, she must have not eaten in weeks. Judging from the boys expression they had come to the same conclusion about Percy. We started moving through the tunnels Leo up front creating light and leading the way.
We were half way there when Frank blanched and gasped. "Guys, I-I don't think Percy is b-breathing." Everyone stopped. The two boys laid Percy on the ground carefully and Jason put us ear to Percy's chest. He had the same reaction as Frank.
"His-his heart it" Jason choked on his words. I almost dropped Annabeth who was still muttering Percy's name. Oh gods, Annabeth. After all they went through, most of which I didn't know about, she was going to loose him in a cave after just getting him back. No. No, I can't let that happen I can't let her suffer through that grief. There had to be something we could do. I thought back to the few lessons I had had with the Apollo kids, but nothing seemed useful until I remembered-
"Jason, shock him." Everyone looked at me like I was crazy so I explained "If his heart isn't beating then a shock of electricity might get it going again" Nothing happened for a long second then Jason moved his hand on top of the boys still chest and sparks started flying it wasn't much but it was enough. Percy took in a raspy breath and started breathing again, he wasn't conscious but he wasn't dead either. Everyone let out a sigh of relief and started back up the tunnel carefully watching the two Demigods.
