The Illusion of Choice

Summary:

Day 2 of LonelyEyes Week
Prompt: Wager/Proposal

Peter loses a bet and Elias gets what he wants.

Work Text:

"That is a terrible bet. It is a lose-lose situation, why on earth would I take it?" Peter scowled over his coffee.

"Because you don't hate the idea anywhere near as much as you seem to think. Come on Peter, you said you loved me last night, this is surely the next step." Elias grinned, smugness radiating from him like he had gotten away with murder. Peter blushed ever so slightly, barely noticeable.

" I was drunk last night, and you made me say it."

" How could I 'make you say it' ? Whatever could you mean?" Elias raised a questioning, mocking eyebrow.

"You know full well what I mean Elias."

"Yes I do but it never stops amusing me how repressed you can be about our sex life in the privacy of our own home." The woman on the table next to them went wide-eyed as she overheard that before she packed up her stuff as quickly as she could.

"I severely doubt I ever have any privacy when you are around." Peter swirled the coffee grounds in his empty cup with an aggressive intensity. Elias hummed.

“I will give you that, but are you going to take the bet?” Peter groaned.

“Fine.”

“No need to look so grumpy Peter.”

“You fixed the bet.”

“I didn’t need to, I knew you wouldn’t be able to do it.”

“Of course I couldn’t. I’m not going to sit and listen to some woman talk about flower arrangements all day.”

Elias laughed as Peter threw a strop over their bet.

“That’s not my problem”

“Bastard.”

“Maybe So,” Elias pulled out a notebook, “So I can call the baker and say we are taking the chocolate and the lemon cake?”

“Yes Elias, damn you, you can have both the cakes at the wedding.”
