Work Text:

Bokuto Koutarou literally ran for his life the moment he heard someone punching the code into his apartment's door.

It was supposed to be a fun day, he was supposed to play with them just like the playdates every time there's a family gathering.

"Oh my God, oh God, thank you for coming, I swear I've never seen them this energetic before," Koutarou jumps -practically tackling- the taller man before he could even close the door.

He's actually quite proud of how fast he could run through his wrecked apartment.

He breathed in Kuroo's cologne -his favourite scent in the world- and just like that some of his stress evaporated into nothing.

Tetsurou on the other hand chuckles fondly as both of his arms slowly circles around his boyfriend's back

"I'm pretty sure it runs in the blood," he said after Koutarou finally let him go.

"No you don't understand, they're like loose cannonballs, it feels like they've just inhaled tonnes of sugar," the athlete explains, heads peeking to his room where the kids' at.

"I can bet on my whole career that you gave them three days worth of sugars," the raven-haired male replied, not taking his eye off the shoes he's changing.

"Hey! I'm responsible enough to know their sugar limits!" smirking at Kou's pouty lips, Tetsurou kisses it quickly before taking Koutarou's muscular hand, dragging him to meet the twins.

"Kousuke, Koume, look who's here! Your favourite uncle!" Tetsurou's open arms are instantly filled with two six years old kids giggling as he attacks their cheeks with kisses.

"Wait a minute, I thought I'm the best uncle here" Bokuto Koutarou, MSBY's 'normal' ace whined while faking a disappointed look putting both hands on his hips.

Tetsurou looked at the dual haired kids in his arms, he mustered the best surprised look on his face before finally saying, "Uh oh, looks like our secret got out, run!"

Shrieks and laughter once again filled the apartment as the owner chased after his little guests while his partner took the hero role.

It takes a few laps around the apartment, some tv, a round of playing horse, and some warm milk before the twins finally get their long-waited nap.

The couple moves to cuddle on the sofa as they recharge their energy deficits from playing around with the 6 year old kids. They don't even care about the state Koutarou's apartment is in. They just want to hold onto each other.

"Have I told you how amazing you are?"

"You might" Kuroo smiled softly giving a peck to Bokuto's nose

"Well, just to be sure, you are the most amazing guy on this planet, I will fight anyone who says otherwise" his fingers gently play with Kuroo’s bangs, fiddling with it.

"Please don't," they share the same look, filled with adoration and love for the other.

"The past few hours makes me fall even more in love with you, I never thought it was possible,"

"Yeah?" Kuroo kissed the hand that's cupping one of his cheeks.

"I have a question though,"

"Shoot"

"Is it scientifically impossible for the alpha omega thing to be true?"

Three seconds passed until Kuroo raised his eyebrows, he even sat up to make sure Bokuto was serious about his question.

"Is this what you mean when you say you've been reading?"

"What? Don't look at me like that, we're literally a gay couple and I read bl for the storyline" it doesn't took Tetsurou a long time before Koutarou forfeit and broke their eye contact.

"Fine, I also like the hooha time, but that's not the point!" Koutarou follows his boyfriend, he sits up before continuing his excuse slash speech.

"Seeing you taking care of the twins who look like me made me imagine what our children would look like, and how you're going to be the best father for them," leaving Kuroo stunned at the dorkiness turned sweet his boyfriend just spouted.

"Kou, geez you're too much," when his brain finally manages to connect the words, Kuroo complexion turns red.

He hides his face on the junction of Bokuto's neck, just because they’ve been in a relationship for a few years doesn’t mean Kuroo is immune to Bokuto’s sudden confession. He always manages to say things at the most unpredictable time, never fails to catch his boyfriend off guard.

“Urgh, you and your pretty mouth,” it was a mumble but the older guy by two month must’ve heard it since his laughter fills the now quiet apartment.

Kuroo slaps his shoulder lightly, “Shush, you’ll wake the kids.”

“See, best father ever” Bokuto beamed at his boyfriend before taking his face, tracing it gently.

“We’re not even married,”

“We will,”

“Is that a proposal?”

“If you want,” Koutarou shrugs as Tetsurou rolls his eyes.

“One minute you’re the world sweetest man, then the other you’re the most anti-romantic guy,”

“Okay, don’t complain when I throw you the best wedding proposal ever,” Kuroo loves how his boyfriend uses when instead of if.

Kou stop pushing me!

No fair! I wanna see Uncle Kou and Uncle Tetsu hug each other too!

The adults look at each other as they listen to the twins argue, who knows since when have they been listening.

“Kou, do you remember the story about kids that like to eavesdrop?”

“Hmmm, I kinda forgot, can you tell me about it?” Kuroo try his best to swallow his laughter after seeing Bokuto's sloppy act.

"Well, there's one that ended up having an elephant ears,"

"Really? Weren’t their ears got stung by bees?” You may think it’s kind of absurd and random but it always works.

It doesn’t even take a second until both children run like their lives depend on it.

“UNCLE KOU, UNCLE TETSU WE’RE SORRY PLEASE WE DIDN’T MEAN TO EAVESDROP!” the boy shouted.

Whereas Koume silently went over to hug Kuroo’s leg, trying to hold her sniffles.

“Hey, sweetie it’s okay, as long as you guys know it’s bad and apologizes for it nothing bad would happen,” the former nekoma captain takes the girl into his arms as he stands up from the sofa.

“Now, how about both of you help me cook our dinner as an apology,” Kuroo gently wipes the tears on the now smiley faced girl.

“That’s a great idea, love! To the kitchen!” the older Kou grin excitedly taking little Kou’s hand tailing his lover and the older twin.

Thankfully now that the twins could tone down their excitement a bit, the cooking session wasn’t as chaotic as this noon.

“Baby, could you help your sister set the table for me?” Kuroo asked Kousuke who of course nodded enthusiastically, then immediately zoomed to the dining table.

The hazel coloured eyes are now focusing back to the pot full of curry in front of him.

However, it didn't last long because a pair of hands wiggle their way into his waist followed by a soft kiss on the back of his neck.

“Love, you really are perfect,” Bokuto’s low whispers greets his eardrums, totally disorienting his heartbeat.

“Hon, flattery won’t get you anywhere,” Kuroo tried his best to hide how shaky his breath currently is, he never knew stirring a paddle could be a strenuous activity.

“Oh, I beg to differ,” Koutarou’s right hand is now holding Tetsurou’s, trying to help him stir the curry.

Couldn’t take any more of the tooth aching sweet acts Kuroo turned the stove off and slightly pushed his boyfriend so he could move around to plate the curry.

But that didn’t do much because Bokuto’s hands were glued on his waist, not showing any intention to let the more slender man go.

“Kou, the kids are here,” Kuroo finally slaps those sinfully veiny hands.

“What? What’s so wrong about a married couple hugging each other?”

“Kou, again, we’re not married… yet,”

“Let’s think of this as a practice, speaking of which you haven’t answered me about the alpha omega thing,” instead of moving away, Bokuto is now putting his chin on Kuroo’s shoulder driving the latter insane.

“Bokuto Koutarou I really love you, but for the love of-”

“Uncle Tetsu, we’re done setting the table!” saved by my niece, Bokuto finally lets go of his boyfriend since he could hear frustration and a little -just a tiny little anger- in Kuroo’s voice.

“Great job guys! We’re also done with the curry,” Kuroo pats those two little heads proudly.

“Oh, and I think your mother will be here in a bit, so let’s wait for her and eat dinner together yea?”

“Ay! Ay! Cap-ACE!” The twins giggle as they correct the way they call their uncle making the whole apartment echoed with hearty laughs.

The four of them just sit on the dining table when the apartment door got unlocked.

“Hey guys! By the condition of this apartment and Tetsu coming over I could tell that you guys had a blast,” said the oldest Bokuto in the room.

“Well, the apartment got blasted that’s for sure,” was the only comeback Koutarou could come up with without making the twins feel bad.

“They were fine Kaoru-san, just a little excited, and by they, I mean these three,” Kuroo put a hand on Koutarou’s thigh trying to tell him he didn’t do anything wrong.

“Hahahaha, not surprised, anyway let’s eat before the curry got cold,” she said as motherly as always.

Everyone is now enjoying their meal when Kaoru starts another conversation, apparently it’s a tradition in the Bokuto household.

“So, besides playing wildly, what else did both of you do?” she asks after swallowing a spoonful of curry.

“Uh-uhm we did something bad…” Koume pouted, obviously still guilty about the incident earlier.

“UNCLE KOU, UNCLE TETSU WE’RE SORRY FOR EAVESDROPPING!” Kousuke dramatically bowed his head to his two uncles.

“Haha, it’s okay guys, they apologized and helped me cook plus set the table, so they didn't really do anything bad Kaoru-san,” once again Kuroo swiftly manages to ease the guilt the Bokutos felt.

“Well at least both of you learn something today, is there anything new you learn today?” their mother asked once more.

“Hmmmm oh! I heard new words today! It’s ala and ogaga!” Kousuke chimed, proud as always.

“Wait, I’m pretty sure it’s alpaca and otega,” the older twin said, touching her chin, showing how hard she thought of the words.

Let’s just say the dinner ends with Tetsurou apologizing profusely and Koutarou earning hours of lectures from both his boyfriend and oldest sister.
