Eiji was awoken by the sound of a loud knocking on the glass of his bedroom window. Startled, he jolted up and flipped his head toward the potential danger fearfully only to see a familiar tall blonde wearing an oversized red and white baseball jacket and cuffed ripped blue jeans crouching on the slope of the roofing outside of his bedroom window waving his arms frantically.
"Eiji! Let me in," he yelled, his calls muffled by the glass between them.
Eiji sighed a sigh of relief and wiped the panicked sweat off of his forehead.
Thank god it was only Ash.
Eiji pushed his plaid bed sheets off his body and hurried across the room to his window.
"One second," Eiji mouthed to the boy across the glass as he rummaged for the window key through his desk drawers.
As soon as Eiji found the key, he unlocked the window with a click and swung it open to greet the boy outside who had his arms folded and a grumpy expression on his face.
"You took ages. I'm near damn freezing out here" Ash pouted whilst clambering through the window and into the warmth of his friend's bedroom.
"Do not be like that, I didn't know you were even coming,," Eiji mumbled rubbing his eyes sleepily. "why are you here anyway? It's like 2 in the morning."
"Dad and Jennifer are out for the night wherever doing god-knows-what and I came home late so I couldn't get into my house. They even closed the windows,," Ash explained.
"What were you doing out that late anyway? Your parents are super strict, no?" Eiji asked.
"Yeah but I snuck out, it's easy to do since Griff is out over his pal’s house and can't tell on me."
Eiji rubbed his eyes. "So are you asking me if you can stay the night or what?"
"Please," The blonde looked at Eiji with pleading eyes. "I will sleep on the floor and I'll pay you back I promise"
"You don't need to offer me anything in return, you are welcome here any time, but please ring the doorbell next time..." Eiji massaged his own forehead trying to wake himself up,
"come on, I'll find you a pillow and quilt, wait here and make yourself comfortable," Eiji said drowsily as he trailed out of the room search of bedding to make his friend comfortable.
