Work Text:

‘Bora?’

She spent the last two years trying to forget her and now when she finally was moving on, the woman shows up like nothing ever happened. It was hard for her to not run away from the girl that just called her name. Maybe she could pretend that she wasn’t “Bora” and just walk away? No. She was an adult, she was able to face her problems.

Inhale.

She just wanted a peaceful night celebrating her friend's happiness filled with drinking and dancing. She wasn’t ready to face the person that hurt her the most in her whole life.

Exhale.

After what felt like hours, but was only seconds, Bora turned from the bar to her. The woman stood really close to her but the brunette couldn’t have met her eyes, so she just looked at people behind her who were sitting at their tables.

‘Gahyeon, what a surprise seeing you here.’ Was it really a surprise? Bora knew that her friends still kept in touch with the girl. There was a time when they all were a part of the same friend group, but everything changed when Gahyeon decided to leave the brunette without a word.

‘I couldn’t miss Siyeon and Handong’s engagement party.’

‘Yeah, I’m so happy that they finally took the next step in their relationship.’ But it wasn't a problem for you to miss me or maybe i wasn't important enough to you to even miss me. ‘Also I see you dyed your hair. Red suits you so well.’ It really did. Gahyeon looked even more beautiful than Bora remembered. And the light pink ball dress she had on only added to her stunning look.

‘Oh right, the last time we saw each other I had dark hair. I had dyed them a couple of times since then but that’s not really important. Tell me how are you? Did you open your own dance studio?’ The warm feeling in her heart because of this question shouldn’t be there. Bora should be angry at Gahyeon, not falling in love once again for the younger because she remembered her deepest dream.

The moment Bora opened her mouth to answer, loud music started to play from the speakers all around the restaurant and people started to gather at the dance floor to have some awaited fun after the official dinner was over. Bora then looked at Gahyeon and for the first time after more than two years their eyes met. In that second the older knew that her feelings never changed for the younger. She will always love her.

‘Come with me to my room. It’s too loud here to talk.’ Bora won’t ever know what made her agree. Was it Gahyeon’s beautiful smile? Maybe it was the glimpse of hope in her brown eyes? Or Bora’s heart's urge to be as close to this girl as she could? No matter the reason, she followed Gahyeon to her room in the hotel where the engagement party was.

The brunette shouldn't have allowed this but she couldn’t have stopped herself from reaching for Gahyeon’s hand and holding it throughout their whole walk to the younger’s room. Bora was always impressed how well their hands fitted each other, as if they were made to be together. And the smile that Gahyeon sent her after she took her hand into hers only made Bora happier with her decision.

They got to the room too quickly for Bora’s liking because she had to let go of the younger hand so she could have opened the door. As soon as both of the women stepped into the hotel room, all of Bora’s walls she built around her feelings that have been slowly crumbling since the moment she saw Gahyeon, fell into pieces. She knew that she would forgive the younger for all the pain she caused her the moment she asked for forgiveness.

Gahyeon hadn’t asked for forgiveness throughout the whole night. They didn’t talk about what happened the last time they saw each other. Instead they spent their time describing their current lives while sharing some kisses in between their stories. Bora missed the feeling of Gahyeon’s lips on her body more than she expected. Nothing could compare to that.

Later Bora will realise that she was the only one talking about her life and Gahyeon just asked her more and more questions. Never mentioning anything important about herself and what she was doing.

The brunette ended up cuddled into Gahyeon’s side with one of the red-haired woman's hands in her dark hair. Before completely falling asleep Bora uttered a simple request:

‘Please don’t leave me again.’ She just wanted Gahyeon to stay in her life forever.

With tears in her eyes and a soft smile grazing her lips, the younger placed a kiss on Bora’s forehead. She didn’t say anything, just hugged the girl in her arms tighter and let her sleep.

After waking up from her sleep Bora realised one thing that she wished wasn’t true. She once again made the mistake of trusting Gahyeon with her fragile heart.
