Pretty Setters Club: The Kidnapping

Summary:

After the first time the setters all got together in Tokyo they figured that would be the last of the chaos. (So did I) Then they all meet again at Nationals. Only this time there is less drunken chaos and more of a search of missing first years. They can blame the Miya twins for that one.

Part 2 of Pretty Setters Club

(This is purely a fic I wrote and edited while intoxicated so we will ignore the mistakes alright :p )

Notes:

Yeah I never expected to make a second one of theses but you all kept asking so here we go.
Friendly reminder... characters act a bit fanon, I was very drunk writing and editing all of this so it kinda sucks, not the greatest example of my works.
I honestly hated this one but there is a part 3,4, and 5 coming.

Part 3 Setters in Brazil
Part 4 Olympics
Part 5 Wedding

I've already started part 3 and I love it much more than this one so at least we have that to look forward to. Just don't expect it anytime soon.

Work Text:

Nationals

It was finally time. Nerves and excitement could be felt rolling through the waiting room where all the players prepped to be introduced to the world.

Ok at least to those who came to watch

It was loud and hectic. Suga was doing his best to note where all his little crows had fluttered off too. Most spotting others they already knew from other schools and quickly peeled away from the others to chat with them.

He was actually proud of Kageyama who had even started chatting with a team Suga wasn’t familiar with. Must have been someone from the camp he went to. Hinata of course had gravitated over to Bokuto. Suga shared a glance with Akaashi nodding slightly.

Ever since that drunken night in Tokyo during the setter only camp all the setters came to the agreement of never speaking of the night… ever again.

The tattoos unfortunately are a permanent reminder of what they had done. Suga smirked slightly when Akaashi admitted to keeping his tongue piercing. Claimed Bokuto enjoyed it so he kept it and said it was easy enough to hide. The last comment left a lot of heckling in the group chat.

Yeah a few things had changed that night that were actually good things. Bokuto and Akaashi got together after much push from Bokuto. They were absolutely adorable and Suga never thought he would fawn over a pair as much as he had. Much to Dachi’s displeasure because he was often drug around to double dates when the group happened to be in the same area.

Oikawa claimed that he and Iwaizumi’s relationship, while still not actually together, had definitely… escalated. Even Oikawa was embarrassed to actually go into detail of what was happening. He did eventually confide in Suga that the relationship on a sexual level and basically escalated to the point that it was consistent. At home, the changeroom before and after practice, and even at school in the janitors closet.

“Suga I really shouldn’t complain because it is fantastic. It really is. It’s just,” Oikawa broke off slumping onto the table that evening at the coffee shop

“You still crave something more than just the sex,” Suga filled in patting Oikawa’s head

“But he won’t even try and talk about it. He just shuts me up by-” Suga waved him off with that thought

Yes, that was still a battle. Suga wasn’t really sure if they would ever actually be able to get the pair together. Oikawa was about to resort to something he really didn’t want to… which was telling Iwaizumi no.

Then there was poor Kageyama. After discovering that Hinata and Kenma were… well them the boy seemed to be preening for more and more of HInata’s attention. Just not really in the way that would work. FIrst it was ignoring Hinata. Suga didn’t really blame him on that end. It was a bit of a shock for everyone to find out that Hinata and Kenma were sexting buddies. Suga finally swallowed his courage and privately asked Hinata if he even understood what he had been doing. He was secretly more horrified that not only did Hinata understand fully what he was doing but his knowledge was way more than what Suga even processed.

After that horrifying discovery he could actually learn things from Hinata he finally was able to sit down with Kageyama. Maybe it was just the lack of social skills Kageyama had obtained through the years or because the original people he watched show affection to each other were Iwaizumi and Oikawa but the poor kid was horrible with feelings and flirting. So Suga did his best to teach Kageyama about love language which for Hinata seemed to be verbal praise and well… volleyball. Volleyball was the easy thing trying to get Kageyama to give the kid a decent praise on the other hand had become a different battle on its own.

Suga was just glad that they were happy and doing that weird fighting thing that seemed to be soothing for them. There was slight hope that maybe one day the idiots would pull themselves together and admit their feelings.

Kenma and Kuroo on the other hand… well one would think that a confession would have done something for them. Anything… only it didn’t. Dachi claims that Kuroo was convinced his friend was more distant than ever. It didn’t help that Kenma never denied or agreed with the claim. He did say he and Hinata called off their fun after that night but not much besides that. When Suga questioned Kenma on how he thought his friend was behaving Hinata simply snorted and muttered something along the side of gay panic.

All in all the camp really screwed around with the whole flow of everything. It had worked out for Akaashi and Bokuto but that was pretty much it. Suga had no loss there really he was just putting together pieces. Kageyama really only suffered from a hurt pride and the teasing of his teammates. For Kuroo, Kenma, Oikawa, and Iwaizumi however they clung to the facts of the night a bit more than they should have.

At least in Suga’s opinion that is.

Didn’t matter right now anyway. They were at Nationals! They had other things to worry about. Like where the hell his crows kept running off to.

“Noya!” Suga grabbed the back of the libero’s jersey as he ran by causing the smaller to fall to the floor

“Hey! Oh hey Suga what’s up?”

“Stop running. We have to line up soon. Where are the first years?” Suga asked lifting his head trying to look over heads much taller than him

“Most of them were with Nekoma last I saw.”

Suga made a slight face. This is technically the first time Kageyama and Kenma have been face to face since that night. Toss clueless HInata into the mix Suga’s heart sped slightly thinking of the cats and crows fighting outside the court.

He released Noya with a look and sped off to where he last spotted the red jackets. He could spot Lev above everyone else and prayed he happened to be with the others. Peeking around a few guys in a maroon warm up jacket. One gave him a strange look as Suga sighed in relief, finally spotting his crows.

“Hey you guys it’s time to line up,” He called out and waved so he wouldn’t have to approach them

Luckily it was Yaku who spotted him and instructed the first years back to him. Suga nodded a thanks as his first years came darting back.

Well they really wouldn’t be his first years for long would they. He graduated soon. This was his one and only shot at nationals… even if he already knew he was going to be riding bench for most of it.

“How do you think this all is going to go?” Daichi muttered to Suga watching Bokuto come back to try and take Hinata only to be dragged away by Akaashi yet again

“Well… as long as no one goes missing I would considered that a success,” Suga said wiggling his eyebrows at Akaashi who promptly flipped him off

Daichi snorted and placed a hand on Suga’s shoulder, “Don’t go jinxing us now.”

Oh if only they knew

————————

“But he’s good now right?” Oikawa asked over the phone as Suga retold the events of the day

“He just needs to sleep it off. I’m sure he will probably be his bright and bouncy self tomorrow,” Suga rocked back slightly on the chair he was sitting on in the lobby

Oikawa had left several messages after Hinata went down during the game. Apparently watching, claiming it was not out of bitterness at all that he watched the matches.

“Still… how did the others handle it?”

“Well… Kageyama handled just as you would expect with those two. Said something along the lines that he won and Hinata still had to catch up.”

“Idiot,” Oikawa snorted on the other end

Suga looked up as Yamaguchi walked by tilting his phone away from his mouth. Yamaguchi was too busy reading something in his hand to notice him.

“Where are you going?”

Yamaguchi jumped slightly before rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, “Sorry Suga. I’m running to the shop down the street past the fountain before they close. Figured I would get a small treat for Hinata in the morning. You know he’s going to blame this whole thing on himself so I kinda suckered Tsuki into coughing up some extra coin so I can get something.”

Suga snicker slightly and nodded bringing the phone closer to him again, “Ok just be quick. Lights out are soon. We are still going to watch the games tomorrow together so we don’t get to sleep in long.”

Yamaguchi nodded and took out the door quickly

“Look at you being a mother duck for two seconds. Makes me forget how stupidly chaotic you actually are,” Oikawa teased from the other end

“Shut up, you start it.”

“You were the one who wanted to do truth and dare-“

“We swore to never speak of that night again,” Suga hissed

“Yeah yeah I kn- oh Iwa-Chan what are you-“

There was a lot of rustling on the other hand and a yelp and why sounded like a long ‘rude’ spring from Oikawa’s lips

“Sorry Sugawara I’ve got to steal him for a moment,” Iwaizumi voice came across the other end

Suga rolled his eyes, “You know maybe if you actually talked to him instead of just fuc-“

“Bye Suga!” Iwaizumi said hanging up the phone

Suga shook his head and stretched his arms over his head. Might as well wait for Yamaguchi to get back so they could just head up together.

“Is your call done?” Daichi asked from the stairs

“Yeah but I’m waiting on Yamaguchi then we will head up.”

“Good lights out soon.”

“I know dad,” Suga muttered

“What was that?” Daichi asked warning a small giggle from Suga

“Nothing Daichi!”

Several minutes later Yamaguchi came back with a small bag of mysterious contents.

“Sorry it took so long. Ran into a few other players there and they wanted to chat.”

“You're fine! Lights out is soon though,” Suga rose joining Yamaguchi’s climb

“Sorry they were just asking if Hinata was alright and if we were staying.”

“Who was it?” Suga asked confused knowing both Nekoma and Fukurodani were not staying in that direction

“The Miya twins.”

Suga raised an eyebrow at that. He knew Hinata had definitely left an impression on the setter of the pair but he didn’t think to the point that they actually stayed and watched the game.

“I have a feeling no one is going to forget Hinata going down like that for a while. Kinda scary you know,” Yamaguchi muttered

“He definitely left more of an impression than he was supposed to. Either way hopefully he sleeps most of it off tonight and if his temperature is stable he can watch with us tomorrow.”

Yamaguchi nodded as they entered the room noting how few of their teammates were actually in bed. Most still arguing over something on the tablet.

“I don’t know how they have energy still. I was exhaust watching them,” Suga muttered to Yamaguchi who giggled

“It’s like this group eats batteries for breakfast.”

Suga’s eyes widened a hair, “Don’t ever mention that to Noya because he might try it.”

———

Hinata was cleared to come with the rest of them the next morning so long as he kept calm and took it easy.

And go absolutely nowhere near a ball

He surprised everyone by actually sleeping on the short trip to the stadium to watch. Having to be poked awake when they arrived.

Maybe he held a bit of shame still as he wore his mask and kept his hood up once he was off the bus. Yachi chatted to him softly as well as Yamaguchi reading the schedule and court assignments.

Sure enough they split off in different groups leaving Suga and the other third years to watch what could have been from the comfort of their seats in a rare form of quiet.

“Normal you are annoying and talkative when no one else is here,” Daichi muttered to Suga

“Shut up game is on,” only to wince as Bokuto aimed a nasty spike right between some poor first year’s arms

“Surprised the others aren’t watching this one,” Asahi noted looking around

“I think they are they just moved closer,” Daichi yawned moving an arm over to scratch Suga’s scalp

“Kageyama wanted to watch Kamomedai and I know a few went with him,” Suga corrected watching as Akaashi went back to serve

“Where’s Hinata?” Asahi kept looking around for the spot of orange

“Probably watching this one. Yamaguchi is with him,” Kiyoko said, dropping beside Asahi, “Yachi just told me they went to grab a snack.”

Akaashi managed a service ace below only to be cut off by the next one after a failed block on their end. Didn’t seem to matter much though. Bokuto was on a roll.

“For as moody as he gets he still is a serious threat isn’t he,” Asahi muttered watching Bokuto blow past another block

“Your one to talk,” Suga grunted as Daichi smacked him in the back of the head

“Behave,” Daichi muttered

Suga went to retort only to be poked in the back of the head a few times. He tilted his head back to see a guy decked in a hoodie and sunglasses as if attempting to be in stealth mode.

“I have an emergency,” the guy hissed still poking Suga’s head

“What the hell are you doing here?” Suga asked shoving Daichi to move a seat down

The guy climbed down, sitting between Suga and Daichi. Daichi not holding back the insulted look as he had just been forcibly moved from his spot only to be replaced.

“After we hung up last night me and Iwa got into like… a huge fight,” Oikawa sliding off his sunglasses glancing at the court below

“Ok… and?”

Oikawa made a face, “Well I couldn’t hide at mine! Anyone else’s from the team would have ratted me out! Normally I would go to yours but you were here so…”

“So you came all the way out here… why did you two even fight about?” Suga asked ignoring the look the other third years were giving them

After the last setter only event there had been a private agreement NOT to let the setters do anything together ever again. The fact Oikawa suddenly showed up to Nationals uninvited could only spell trouble.

Oikawa shuffled his hands together slightly, “Well you see… after we did,” he made a crude hand motion that got Asahi to turn away fairly quickly, “I kinda finally… said something. I asked why it was just sex and how come he would never let me ask what he actually felt and all that crap. How come he didn’t want to make it like a thing when we basically already are one.”

“And?” Suga leaned forward slightly

He had been invested for way too long in the outcome of this relationship

“He just… I don’t,” Oikawa huffed, waving his hands around, “He wouldn’t listen! Kept cutting me off and crap so I took my crap and left!”

“I feel like there is more to this,” Daichi commented

“I wasn’t talking to you,” Oikawa snapped, glancing over his shoulder slightly to stick out his tongue, “But… I just know he’s not going to calm down for awhile… and I know he will find me and yell at me but I didn’t know where else to hide… so… I showed up here.”

“No I’m with Daichi what actually happened Tooru,” Suga poked his friend’s shoulder

Oikawa grumbled nonsense and pulled the edges of his hood closer to his face.

“Can’t hear you,” Suga sang poking at Oikawa

“You know I can just tell Iwaizumi you are here,” Daichi said holding his phone up slightly

“Do it and I’ll murder you and steal your boyfriend,” Oikawa glared slightly

“Why so violent?”

“Would you really have to murder him to steal me?” Suga asked Oikawa who perked up his head and cooed

“Awwww Koshi would you leave your boyfriend for me? Really?”

“You would have a better chance if you told me what you two actually argued about,” Suga flickered Oikawa’s head earning a wine and the taller leaned forward burying his head into Suga’s chest

“Well… my boyfriend has been stolen,” Daichi muttered refocusing on the game

Occasionally comments of the game were thrown around as they watched Fukurodani win finalizing their spot for the championship match which was scheduled for later that afternoon.

“We gotta say congrats to Akaashi,” Suga muttered to Oikawa who whined still settled against his shoulder

“I’m not supposed to be here though.”

“You're the one who showed up. How the hell did you even get here anyway? It’s not like it’s a town over.” Daichi asked standing as Suga shrugged off Oikawa and made grabby hands toward his fellow setter

Oikawa groaned, grabbing Suga’s hands and letting himself be pulled up, “I’m here, that's all you need to know. Well honestly you shouldn’t even know that.”

“Like that makes sense,” Kiyoko muttered letting herself settle deeper into her seat

“You're not coming?” Asahi asked

“The girls from Fukurodani said to wait here for them while they finish with their boys,” she said waving them off

The group of four headed down the stairs to wait by the hall the team was most likely doing a pep talk in. Oikawa making sure his hood up and sunglasses on like his world depends on it.

“Since when do you act like such a little bitch,” Suga muttered earning a scowl from Oikawa

“Listen… I’ve had a bad day and night. I’m allowed to be whiny and bitchy for one day.”

“You are acting like a brat.”

Oikawa yanked off his sunglasses and gave a pointed stare at Suga who simply rolled his eyes

Sure enough they could hear Bokuto well before they spotted the rest of the team. Kuroo seemed to be attempting to put the fellow spiker in a headlock with shouts from the Fukurodani teammates to be careful with Bokuto as they still had one more game to play.

“Well he’s sure on his mark isn’t he,” Daichi said earning some attention and greetings

Akaashi tilted his head back and paused before slowly moving over to Suga and Oikawa.

“What are you doing here?” He asked bumping Oikawa slightly

“I came to be a supportive member of the Pretty Setters Club obviously,” Oikawa sniffed and rolled his eyes

“He got in a fight with his Iwa-Chan and ran away,” Suga fixed earning a glare from Oikawa

“Well who knows. Maybe it will be good for Iwaizumi,” Akaashi snorted slightly as Kenma joined in with that remark

“You are not wrong,” Akaashi nodded to Kenma

Kenma glanced around the group slightly and frowned, “I thought I saw Sho or was I mistaken and he’s still ill?”

“He’s here somewhere. Though I tried to convince him to stay back,” Suga sighed glancing over at Daichi and Kuroo now arguing over something

The bromance those two had was a bit too much.

“Bokuto said he and another one of your first years was sitting with the Miya twins during the game,” Akaashi frowned at the thought

“The Miya twins? You mean the twins with the bad hair? Setter and spiker duo?” Oikawa asked

“Yeah. The setter made a proposal of sorts to Hinata. Kageyama wasn’t to thrilled,” Suga smirked

“He wasn’t thrilled with me on the other side of the net though either,” Kenma pointed out and Suga simply shrugged

“Your number ten is a setter magnet it seems,” Oikawa mutter

Kenma smirked looking down at his phone, “Well he does have a type and it is setters. If he’s with one now there is a good chance he just added another to his long list.”

“That’s disturbing,” Akaashi muttered

Not three seconds later Yachi came creeping around the hall looking around. Once spotting fellow teammates she jogged over.

“Any of you seen Hinata and Yamaguchi by chance? They never came back from getting food.”

“Bokuto said they were with the Miya twins,” Akaashi repeated

Yachi let out a slight squeak as she caught Oikawa’s gaze. Oikawa placed his sunglasses on and pointed at her, “Not a word.”

Yachi nodded rapidly and took back off.

“You are going to traumatize her,” Kenma sighed

Oikawa rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath just as a pair of arms wrapped around Akaashi. Akaashi didn’t have to tilt his head back to know Bokuto had joined them.

“Well look at that its a Tokyo reunion,” Kuroo smirked noting the group of setters

“Never again,” Kenma muttered

“May not be a bad thing guys come on,” Bokuto said resting his head on Akaashi’s shoulder who seemed to be failing on the idea of not turning red

“You can simply say that because at the end of the night it got you this pretty boy,” Oikawa said stepping forward to lift Akaashi’s chin with a finger

“I will bite you,” Akaashi muttered

“He does bite,” Bokuto confirmed

Laughter sprung around the group as Akaashi turned a new shade of red and hid his face in his hands.

“But hey why is Hinata with the Miya twins?” Bokuto asked Suga as Daichi joined as well

“He’s with who?” Daichi asked but Suga simple waved a hand

“Well the Miya setter made a proposal of sorts to Hinata when we played them. As long as he doesn’t corrupt him any farther than he already is.” Suga quickly pointed at Kenma, “Not a word from you. You have already corrupted him enough.”

“I wasn’t going to say anything. Besides… Atsumu is worse than I am, I'm sure but it’s Hinata who you have to watch out for.”

Daichi threw up his hands and turned away back to Asahi, “I’m not listening to this.”

Suga rolled his eyes and glanced back at Akaashi and Bokuto, “So what a few hours break and then the final?”

Akaashi nodded as their coach called for the team to regroup. Oikawa leaned back against Suga as they waved bye to Akaashi. Suga shrugged off the taller watching him stumble back upright with a scowl.

“I came for comfort and this is how I’m treated,” Oikawa mumbled

“If you tell me what happened and stop being a brat then maybe you will get some,” Suga shrugged and turned to Kenma and Kuroo, “Eat yet?”

—————

The final game began and one thing became very obvious, Akaashi was struggling.

“They need to switch him,” Oikawa muttered his chin on his knees

Suga didn’t say anything but silently agreed. Akaashi was slowly coming apart and it was starting to show.

Akaashi always seemed very collected and serious. Get him alone long enough to start cracking and it was very quick to find he was probably just as sarcastic as Oikawa and also a tight ball of anxiety.

And he seemed to be cracking now

Even Kenma was frowning, looking back and forth from Akaashi to the bench.

“He’s going to blame this on himself,” Kenma muttered as Akaashi tried to do a setter dump only for it to be easily popped up and quickly dumped back

They all wince as the whistle blew and sure enough the back up setter was holding Akaashi’s number on the side. Sure enough Akaashi sat on the bench and dropped his head to his knees for a few moments before the coach started talking to him.

Kenma wiggled his nose and tucked himself deeper into his warm up jacket, “Let Bo talk to him before we do, ok?”

The others nodded as the game went on.

In the end Fukurodani did lose. The group all let out a disappointed sigh as the final whistle blew. The awards ceremony started shortly after once they cleared the nets away.

But Nationals was over

Tomorrow they would go back home.

Daichi sent a text out in the group chat on where to meet downstairs as everyone was still scattered around. Slowly the others started coming together with those from Nekoma as well.

“Has anyone seen Yamaguchi and Hinata yet?” Tsukishima asked when he arrived and peeked around

“They were with the Miya twins. I’m sure they will meet us shortly,” Suga answered also noting the missing first years

“What if they stole them,” Oikawa muttered hands behind his head making sure to face away from Kageyama

Suga scowled and smacked Oikawa’s shoulder just as Fukurodani came around the corner. No surprise to see some red rimmed eyes though Bokuto still seemed just as cheerful as always.

“Hey hey hey! Did ya see me?” He asked reaching up to high five Kuroo as they mixed in

Kenma carefully slides beside Akaashi simply pressing against his side. Suga reached up ruffling the taller’s hair slightly.

“You all played well. Second at Nationals is impressive. Plus you have next year,” he said quietly noting Akaashi’s face

“Yeah… but they don’t,” he mumbled looking at his third years

Oikawa wiggled his nose and scoffed patting Akaashi’s head, “No but they still have a future to look forward to, don't they?”

Akaashi gave a small smile and nodded only to pause and look back at Oikawa, “Wait where are you staying? Everywhere is booked?”

Oikawa blinked then turned to Suga

“We don’t have extra bedding.”

“It’s not like we haven’t shared beds before,” Oikawa pointed out

“I’m sorry… when?” Daichi asked tuning into the conversation

Oikawa and Suga simply waved him off and began to argue lightly about Oikawa’s shitty planning. Then Daichi’s phone dinged and he tilted the screen over for Suga to see.

Yamaguchi:

Sorry forgot to mention Hinata and I already headed back. He was feeling a bit drained.

“Were they the last ones we are waiting on?” Suga asked

“Them and coach,” Daichi muttered looking up noting the coaches still nowhere to be found

Well it was one less pair for them to worry about for now. They could check on Hinata when they get back.

————

Only Hinata wasn’t there

And neither was Yamaguchi

Tsukishima pulled out his phone as soon as they entered, noting the pair were nowhere in sight. He shook his head and scowled when there was no answer. Kageyama did the same on his end while Suga snuck off to recheck the room Hinata had been in last night.

Nothing

“Kageyama you don’t happen to have that setter’s number do you?” Daichi asked when Suga only came back and shrugged

Oikawa gasped slightly in the doorway, “Kidnapping! Told you!”

“Shut up,” Tsukishima muttered hitting Yamaguchi’s contact again

Suga pulled out his phone and scrolled through for Akaashi’s contact. Hopefully they hadn’t gone straight home and stayed in their rooms for one more night.

“Hello Suga,” Akaashi rasped over causing Suga to wince slightly

“Akaashi you wouldn’t have anyone’s number from Inarizaki? Yamaguchi said they came back but they aren’t here. They were last spotted with the twins so maybe they know where they went. Hinata and Yamaguchi aren’t answering their phones.”

“Their phones are here,” Noya shouted holding up phones that were on silent and resting on Yamaguchi’s pillow

“So they came back… then where the hell did they go?” Daichi muttered

“Don’t let coaches know they will panic,” Suga said waving a hand slightly

“Shouldn’t we be panicking,” Asahi asked

“No one here has their numbers. Let me ask Kenma if Kuroo does. If not Kenma may be able to do some looking and see,” Akaashi finally responded

Suga nodded before realizing Akaashi couldn’t see him, “Thank you Akaashi.”

There was some more mumbling before the call ended. Suga frowned looking back at Yamaguchi’s pillow. Maybe there was a note. Maybe they would be back shortly.

“Well there’s nothing here,” Suga muttered as he flipped the pillow around

His phone rang but Oikawa answered it, “Kenma! Whatcha got?”

Suga wasn’t surprised when Kenma hung up on Oikawa earning a squawk. Then his phone rang again. Suga grabbed it before Oikawa could make Kenma hang up again.

“Sorry Kenma. Do you have any news for us?”

“Kuroo managed to find their captain’s number. They said the twins never came back either. So maybe they are still together. Their middle hitter said the twins have their phones on them but aren’t answering. They are going to start looking for them here soon though.”

“Great,” Suga muttered, “Thanks Kenma. Guess I’ll start looking too,” Suga grabbed Oikawa by the shoulder turning him back out the door

“Wait Suga we will-“ but Suga raised his hand, cutting off Daichi, “Oikawa and I can look it’s fine. Keep the love birds from leaving the nest and let me know if they come back. Also… don’t tell coach,” and he continued to drag Oikawa out the door

“I talked to Akaashi. We are going to look in our area too just in case,” Kenma muttered there was a ruffle of a jacket on the other end

“No need Kenma! I’m sure Akaashi needs some rest and you need to bathe and rest too.”

“No we are coming,” and Kenma hung up

“Well looks like we are getting another Tokyo adventure anyway!” Oikawa smirked as they stepped out into the evening streets

“No. Nope. Never again. We are just looking for my missing first years and you are coming along because I can’t trust you alone with the others,” Suga wrapped his scarf a bit closer to himself and looked both way down the walk

“Where the hell do we go?” Suga muttered looking up at Oikawa

“Why are you asking me?”

“Oh that’s right. You’ve never been to Nationals,” Suga grinned as Oikawa made an ugly noise in disbelief

“I’m so hurt right now,” Oikawa managed as they turned heading back to the stadium they had played in

Oikawa only stuck out his tongue and shoved his hands deep in his pockets cupping his phone slightly. His eyes trailing along all the buildings they walked past.

“We weren’t on this side of Tokyo when we were here were we?” Suga asked as they passed a fancy restaurant

“I’m not sure. Too drunk to recall,” Oikawa waved peeking around a corner, “Where would these twins take them anyway? Dinner maybe?”

“Why would they take them for dinner?” Suga scowled

Oikawa waved his hands around like that was a good enough explanation. Suga could only emit a sigh as they trudge on. Peek into shops and through windows of eateries. No crumb trail to follow.

Suga’s phone buzzed and he quickly pulled it out in hope of good news.

Kageyama

Any luck yet

Suga

No

Oikawa was also on his phone as they waited for the light to turn. Suga peeked over seeing he was posting a photo of Hinata on twitter.

“What are you doing?”

“Kinda like a missing persons but like without the panic. I found the twins’ accounts so I posted a photo of Hinata telling them to give him back.”

“What about Yamaguchi?” Suga tilted his head not really wanting to admit it was a good idea

“I don’t have a photo of him,” the light turned and they started crossing as Suga glanced at his feed seeing OIkawa’s post

“Wait when did you get this photo of Hinata?”

“Don’t worry about it,” Oikawa placed his phone back into his pocket

Suga swatted at Oikawa who only chuckled and shoved him back slightly. It was only a few short moments later when a ding came across Oikawa’s phone. Suga tilted his head to look as well as Oikawa scoffed.

There was a selfie of the blonde twin with a glimpse of Hinata in the back stuffing his face with what looked to be a soup. The caption simply said No

“Where is that?” Suga asked trying to pin a detail in the back

“Why would I know? We need someone who knows the area more,” Oikawa muttered zooming in on the photo

Suga took a screenshot and sent it in the setter’s group chat with a question mark.

“Oooo Kenma is now involved,” Oikawa muttered still looking at his phone

Sure enough there was a reply to the blonde twin’s photo from Kenma.

Return him or we are coming for you

“That’s not threatening at all,” Suga muttered waiting for an answer in the group chat

“Maybe blondie doesn’t know that,” Oikawa shrugged refreshing his feed

“He didn’t seem to-“ Suga was cut off as his phone rang, “Speak of the devil. Hey Kenma!”

Suga put the phone on speaker tilting it slightly for Oikawa as well

“I’m waiting for the idiot to reply but I’m assuming his twin and Yamaguchi are probably with him and Hinata. I can’t get a solid look at the background there to tell me where they are but it has to be somewhere between the two hotels so I’m sending you a list of them. Likely we will bump into each other in the middle if we can’t find them.”

“Wow Kenma that’s the most I’ve heard you rant!” Oikawa chimed in

“It’s not a rant you idiot,” Kenma hissed

“He’s just mad someone stole Shoyo,” Akaashi’s voice could be heard in the background

“Anyway! Thanks so much you two! Send the list and hopefully we can weed them out!” Suga yanked the phone away from Oikawa’s open hand

Kenma didn’t even reply, just hung up and moments later a text came through.

Then another message from Kageyama. This time Suga ignored it.

“We passed two of these,” Oikawa sighed looking at the list

“Good then we double back!” Suga hummed spinning on his heel ignoring Oikawa’s sigh

“So seriously what made you come all the way out here and run away from Iwaizumi? I know everything has been rocky with you all but typically you aren’t one to run. Nor are you this horrible to deal with unless you are deflecting,” Suga tilted his head at Oikawa who’s face was a bit scrunched

Oikawa stayed silent as they opened the first place and did a quick look in. Oikawa pulled out his phone and asked the woman at the front if she had seen the people in the photo. After a quick head shake they were back out the door.

Oikawa kicked a rock slightly with a sigh, “So I figured out what I was doing after graduation and I told Iwa about it.”

Suga tilted his head and squinted slightly, “What did he not like it? What are you doing?”

“I’m moving to Argentina to play volleyball there. So I told him I was done with the angry sex crap he was doing and it had to stop. He started his bullshit about how it’s not about that but he just,” OIkawa groaned slightly rocking his head back facing the sky, “He just doesn’t listen when it comes to protecting his feelings so I just yelled at him that I was moving to Argentina and we were done and walked out.”

Suga let out a low whistle pulling the door open to the next stop. Again no sign of the twins or his missing first years. Suga scowled knowing they would have to trace back again to look.

“Well that was shitty of you dropping it like that but honestly whatever you all have been doing was getting to be a bit ridiculous and from the sounds of it it has been mainly Iwaizumi,” Suga patted Oikawa’s shoulder slightly

“He just doesn’t want to talk about what he feels which is stupid because I’m pretty sure it’s more than sex. It has to be right? After that night in Tokyo however he was just… possessive with less talking.”

“So you ran away?”

“I wasn’t in the mood to fight with him more,” Oikawa grumbled

“So you come to fight my first years instead?” Suga teased

“I’m helping you find your first years,” Oikawa poked Suga as they finally made it to the next stop

Still nothing

Oikawa pulled open Twitter again and started tagging the Miya twins and several others again demanding Hinata back. A few jumped in with comments or wondered why the Miya twins had Hinata. Suga was mildly surprised despite the fact Oikawa seemed to have never gotten to the National stage; he had a lot of volleyball friends following him.

Oikawa cursed and Suga peeked over again. A new photo up with both Hinata and Yamaguchi chatting to whoever was behind the camera. Mouths fully with a teasing expression on Yamaguchi’s face. Just above the photo read What you don’t want Yamaguchi back?

Comments already coming in under the photo. People asking why the Miya twins had kidnapped random first years. People asking who Yamaguchi was. People were talking about Hinata and they were glad to see him better from the other day.

But there was someone who kept getting tagged

“Is it too late to start drinking?” Oikawa asked typing away again

“No. No alcohol this round! We learned our lesson from last time!” Suga scowled

Another ding came from Oikawa’s phone and his face turned slightly pink. Suga glanced over and down to the phone, “What?”

“So um… who all knew about that one night?”

“All of our teams, why?” Suga peeked over and his face soon matched Oikawa’s

The photo in all its glory was proudly sitting on Miya Atsumu’s wall. It was a photo of Akaashi holding back Kenma’s hair as he puked in a bin outside of some random street. Kageyama leaning way too heavily against a stop light.

And Suga felt his heart drop to his stomach at the background

“Daichi can never see this! Take it down!” Suga hissed

“I can’t! It’s Atsumu‘a post!” Oikawa tilting the screen for Suga to see the This you? Right above the photo

“I don’t even remember kissing you!” Suga groaned, pressing his palms into his eyes, “How did he even get that photo?”

“Well he was at the camp too, remember?” Oikawa cursed sending a copy of the photo to Kenma and Akaashi

“But we were alone!” Suga whined

“I’m sure others snuck out too,” Oikawa sighed as his phone went off again, “Tell Kageyama to chill with the update requests.”

“He will get over it. I need to text Daichi and tell him to stay off Twitter.”

“Won’t he just look then,” Oikawa asked with a raised brow

Suga made a weird sound as they opened the next restaurant. No Miya twins or missing first years in sight.

“He’s going to find out anyway. Better from me than Twitter. Who do they keep tagging in the comments?” Suga asked once they exited the restaurant

“Uhhh some Kita guy I think?”

“He sounds,” Suga tapped his chin slightly as they continued down the sidewalk, “Is that the captain?”

“Suga how the hell am I supposed to know?” Oikawa scowled

“I thought you knew everyone?”

“I like you better drunk,” Oikawa huffed

Suga flipped him off and turned to his phone just as another text from Kageyama came through. The boy needed to chill. There was also one from Tsukishima but it was simply a question mark. Suga sent a small head shaking emoji back to Tsukishima.

Oikawa’s phone went off again and it was another selfie from the twin setter and Hinata this time. The comments and retweets already way past Suga’s normal amount. He was surprised people were even paying attention to what was happening.

The caption Shorty says hi Great King 😉

Oikawa already grumbling and typing a response. Suga could only sigh and look at the restaurant name that was next and type it into the gps. His phone buzzed again with yet another text from Kageyama again asking for an update.

Suga huffed in annoyance typing out for Kageyama to go to bed. The kid needed to chill. Wasn’t like he ever took the dive to ask out Hinata anyway. Not to mention they were also missing Yamaguchi.

Suga’s phone rang again and Suga was half tempted to toss it into the street. He hit the green button pulling it to his ear, “Kageyama we will be back when we find them chill out!”

“That’s great but I’m not Kageyama.”

Suga pulled the phone back and looked at the screen with a groan, “Sorry Kuroo kinda busy here.”

“Yeah I figured. You stole Kenma and Akaashi. By the looks of Twitter you have Oikawa with you. Planning a Tokyo 2.0?” Kuroo chuckled on his end

“What part of busy don’t you-“ Suga hissed but Kuroo started tutting on his end

“I’m here to help crude one. Oikawa is arguing Inarizaki’s setter all over Twitter. Apparently no one has anything better to do tonight because they are fanning the flames like crazy but luckily Inarizaki’s other members have spotted it. Their captain is trying to reach you all but I figured it was better to contact you rather than the pretty boy over there who needs to get off the damn app.”

“I can hear you rooster head,” Oikawa glared at Suga’s phone

“Well great… how do I contact him?” Suga pushed Oikawa out of the way focusing back on Kuroo

“I gave him your number but I had to call you first seeing how you normally answer unknown numbers,” Kuroo snickered, “Like seriously why do you always pretend to be the number for a sex club. It’s going to get you in trouble one day.”

“Bye Kuroo! Thank you!” Suga hung up and stared at his phone in wait

“I don’t think staring at it will make the captain call any faster,” Suga again pushed Oikawa away from him

The sun fully gone now Suga felt the chill in the air. He wished he had brought a heavier coat. Oikawa still occasionally cursing at his phone typing a response. Suga was half tempted to chuck the phone into the street.

“They aren’t at the restaurant anymore,” Oikawa muttered stabbing at the keyboard

He raised the phone to his ear before pulling it away and placing it on speaker.

“You see the screenshots?” He asked

“Yeah I’m tracking it. Assholes know we are looking for them now I doubt they are going to be nice and just hand them back over,” Kenma came from the other end

“We  are waiting for a call from their captain so that should help,” Suga butted in

“And if it doesn’t?” Akaashi could be heard in the distance

“RIP baby crows,” Oikawa muttered earning a smack on the back of the head

“We need to find a way around town faster. I don’t think splitting up is a good idea at this rate. We aren’t making up ground,” Kenma muttered

“Leave it to me,” Akaashi’s voice floating away

“I just don’t understand why they took them to begin with,” Kenma sighed

“Well I don’t like the setter. He’s a dick,” Oikawa muttered

“Really I thought you two would get along swell,” Suga stuck his tongue out at Oikawa earning a squawk

There was more ruffling on the other end. Sounded like a slight argument before a car door slammed shut.

“Send us your location we are picking you up,” Kenma sighed, “But I don’t want to hear any complaints.”

—————

It wasn’t so much a complaint as it was confusion. A cab pulled up beside Oikawa and Suga and gave a small honk. When the window came down they were a bit surprised to see Akaashi driving and Kenma in the passenger seat.

“I’m sorry, where did you get the car?” Oikawa asked

“I’m more wondering why it’s a cab,” Suga said opening the back door

“We are… borrowing it,” Akaashi shrugged looking back

“You stole a cab! Oh my God Akaashi you are my new favorite. Forget Bokuto. Marry me. I need your type of subtle chaos in my life,” Oikawa reached over shaking Akaashi’s shoulders

“Am I not good enough for you?” Suga teased poking Oikawa’s side

Oikawa slumped back on Suga's shoulder, “Please you would still be my first choice if you would just accept me.”

“Sometimes I question why you two aren’t together,” Kenma sighed, punching in something to the gps, “I think I got a lead. I know you said you're waiting on a call from the captain but till then this will do.”

The gps lit up and both Suga and Oikawa grabbed the seats in front of them as suddenly Akaashi shot off, listening to the directions. They share a glance as Akaashi suddenly yanks the wheel sharply around a turn.

“So uh… Akaashi, how long have you had your license?”

“Four months,” he answered and Suga tugged a bit on his seatbelt making sure it held it right

“It took him three tries to get his license though,” Kenma added earning a glare from Akaashi as they sped through a yellow light

“Couldn’t imagine why,” Oikawa muttered looking over at Suga again

The pair winced as the next turn he bumped slightly into the curb. Oikawa scouting over slightly closer to Suga hooking fingers around his shirt as if that would save him.

“Oh Suga could you text Kageyama or something he hasn’t stopped text me,” Kenma muttered as his phone signaled another likely message from Kageyama

“I told him to chill out,” Suga muttered sending off a message to Kageyama

The cab jolted harshly and Oikawa grabbed the handle in the car with a yelp, “The curb Akaashi. Watch the curb.”

“It was in my way.”

“Probably for a reason,” Oikawa snipped

“What is up your ass today,” Kenma muttered earning a glare from Oikawa

“See out of character. All because you-” Suga started only to be quickly shut down by Oikawa

“Not a word Kou.”

Akaashi looked in the backseat of the cab turning his head fully earning a small screech from Oikawa who pointed at the road Akaashi was not looking at.

“Why what happened with you and Iwazumi now?”

“Nothing! Eyes on the road!”

Kenma made a slight huff rolling his eyes as he glanced at the gps.

“We already know you had a fight but you haven’t told us the details,” Kenma added pointing at something on the side of the road the drew Akaashi’s attention

“How’s you and Kuroo,” Oikawa snapped earning a middle finger from Kenma

Suga’s phone went off. He groaned thinking it was Kageyama again. Frowning slightly, noting the area code was off. He hit the green button pulling it to his ear.

“Hello?”

“Hello. Is this Sugawara? This is Kita. I'm calling you about the Miya twins.”

——— meanwhile ———

“Full already?”

Yamaguchi groaned, patting his stomach, “What do you mean already? That was so much!”

“Nah there is still room for dessert right?”

Atsumu Miya tilted his head slightly in a smirk as he stacked their plates together and moved it toward the end of the table. Osamu beside him folding a napkin back in his lap.

“Dessert?”

Hinata raised his chin from the table he was resting on. Luckily he seemed much brighter and colored compared to the day before when he collapsed. Being out on a relaxing day seemed to have been doing him good.

“Yeah! If you don’t want anything here there is a hole in the wall ice cream shop that’s supposed to be really good.”

“How do you two know where every hole in the wall place is if you aren’t from here?” Yamaguchi raised a brow

“This idiot has a weird little food obsession. Every time we are here he goes off exploring and talkin to the locals,” Atsumu jabbed a thumb at his brother

Osamu only rolled his eyes and looked back at the menu. His eyes lazing over the list of desserts. He notices his phone buzz several times. A glance tells him Twitter. Another glance is a text from Kita.

He glanced over to Atsumu who was talking sweet to little red. His phone resting on the space besides them. Notifications from Twitter blaring through rapid style which wasn’t normal. Atsumu didn’t like social media. Hardly used it let alone posted anything to get notifications on.

There was also a missed called from Kita

Osamu swallowed and picked up his phone. The message a simple: Where is your location? Followed by Did you two really kidnap opponents?

Osamu waved for Atsumu to move, simply raising his phone in response. His twin made a face but moved to let him slide out. As soon as he was out the door he pressed the call button.

“Well?”

Osamu winced. Not even a hello. Kita was not happy.

“We didn’t kidnap them. We ran into them at the game and simply asked if they wanted to walk around then eat.”

In his defense that was partly true.

“Their setter is looking for them.”

“Kageyama?” Osamu frowned

From his understanding the setter wasn’t the friendliest of teammates to deal with. Sure a bout of a goody aiming to please but not enough to be desperately searching for his teammates.

“No, the third year. He has enlisted the help of a few other setters. One being Oikawa from-“

“Wait really? Why is he here?”

Kita was silent for several moments on the other side. It gave Osamu time to realize his mistake and he pinked slightly.

“Oikawa and Atsumu seem to have been taunting each other on Twitter. So they are in the hunt for you. Get a hold of them and send the proper location so they can get the number ten home safe so he can rest. He shouldn’t be out.”

That was another thing

“We were going to take them for ice cream after this so I’ll send them the stuff and they can join us. I’ll send it to you too,” Osamu already pulling up the location of the shop

“Good. Behave and apologize. Stop stealing opponents.”

“It was one ti-“ but Kita had already hung up

Osamu muttered a few curses, sending off the location officially and walking back in. The bill nestled near his brother’s hand, signed and paid by the looks of it.

“See how it is. You make me pay for all your grub,” Atsumu scowled as his brother returned

“I’ll get the next stop. I was answering Kita if you would look at your own damn phone,” Osamu reached over shoving the phone into his brother’s chest

“Anyway let’s go for dessert if you are still up for it. Some of your teammates are meetin us there to take you back when we get there. Apparently they been tryin to reach you.”

Both boys blinked at the twins before sheepishly reaching to their pockets.

“Oh… no phone.”

——————

“This is not an ice cream shop,” Kenma stated as they all stood in front of the door

It definitely wasn’t. Music could be lightly heard from where they were standing. No doubt there was no possible way they could actually hear each other in there. There seemed to be a purple glow around the place.

Oikawa glanced back at Akaashi’s shoddy park job. The cab part way on the curb a bit too close to the sign for his comfort.

There was no way he was getting in a car with Akaashi behind the wheel ever again.

“There could be those milkshake things inside… like last time,” Akaashi tried glancing at the group

“Did they seriously take Hinata and Yamaguchi to a strip club?” Suga asked double checking the address and sign

“Maybe the gps took us the wrong way or the address is wrong?” Akaashi looked over at Kenma who shrugged

“Well we aren’t dressed for it so let’s hope we don’t get kicked out. We are going in!” Oikawa tugged his zipper free like that would make a difference

“We are wearing jackets with our school names on them they won’t let us through the door,” Kenma pressed but Oikawa already slipped past the bouncer

“Poor Yamaguchi is going to be traumatized,” Suga muttered following

“You aren’t worried about Hinata?” Akaashi asked following closely dragging Kenma

Kenma and Suga scoffed at the question and pressed on.

The group stayed close to the walls hoping to avoid detection. Luckily it was fairly packed. Girls on different stages as music played through the club. Their eyes locked on to the bar but there was no sign of the twins or the missing first years.

“Maybe it was a prank?” Oikawa looked over at Suga who let his gaze wander around the room

“There isn’t even ice cream on the menu,” Akaashi squinted at the board

Kenma just shook his head and pulled out his phone. Oikawa wandered a bit deeper checking around some of the other portions of the room.

“Um Kenma, doesn't that guy coach one of the teams you played?” Suga asked grabbing Kenma’s chin to force him to look up

Kenma’s eyes widened as he realized who it was. The former Nekoma player now turned coach who instructed his team to actually make him move. He was staring right at them very confused and when his eyes recognized Kenma and his jacket his eyes seem to pop out of his head.

“We need to go!” Kenma hissed grabbed Akaashi and spinning toward the door

“Where’s Oikawa?” Suga froze looking around

“Who cares he complains about my driving,” Akaashi muttered

“I only complained once,” Oikawa materialized next to them blue drink in hand

“Where is that from?” Akaashi looked down at it

“It’s for my nerves and your shitty driving.”

Akaashi blinked for a moment and looked like he was debating if he could hit Oikawa.

“Out the door out the door,” Kenma pulled the group out and back to the cab

The coach however was following, trying to flag them down. Kenma shoved Akaashi into the driver’s seat, almost ripping off the door handle in the process.

“Wait, stop! You all shouldn’t be here! I’m calling your coaches! Did you steal a cab?”

“Drive,” Kenma hissed smacking Akaashi several times as he tried to start the car

Akaashi finally got it going and took off. The group inside bounced slightly as they popped off the curb and took back off into Tokyo streets.

“So… what are the chances he’s actually going to call the coaches?” Akaashi asked as Kenma panted besides him

Oikawa in the back spilling curses over the fact some of his drink ended up on the seat when they fell off the curb.

“Well then he would have to explain how he saw us wouldn’t he,” Suga suggested slightly

“He’s an adult they wouldn’t judge him. Have you met our coaches,” Kenma turned looked at Suga who shrugged lightly

“Well… what now?” Akaashi asked taking a sharp stop at a red light

“They just posted a selfie with ice cream… they didn’t tag where though,” Oikawa said showing them the tweet

“So what they lied about where they were?” Kenma glared at the photo

Both first years seemed rather unharmed. Smiling at the camera with their ice creams in hand. The twins on either side. The blonde looked as smug as ever.

“Well they didn’t lie about the ice cream part,” Oikawa muttered

“Call Kita again.”

—————

“Wait so you only started playing this year?” Atsumu said watching Shoyo lick his strawberry ice cream

“Officially yeah. I had one game in middle school. My team was a bunch of friends who mainly did soccer. We got our ass kicked by Kageyama right off the bat.”

“He was almost not allowed to join the team this year because he and Kageyama knocked off the principal's toupee,” Yamaguchi added with a snicker

“I’m sorry how did you even,” Osamu started as Atsumu started crackling

Hinata just shuttered and took another swipe of his ice cream.

Osamu’s phone rang clearly for the group to hear. He frowned seeing Kita’s number and stepped away from the group to answer.

“Hey Kita.”

“You sent them to a strip club.”

Osamu blinked and looked down at his phone then to the shop as he pulled the phone to his ear.

“I’m sorry I did what?”

“The address was a strip club Osamu,” Kita’s voice too calm for the situation

“No no I definitely triple checked it before I sent it to you. I even used it myself to make sure we ended up in the correct spot. We are literally at an ice cream shop waiting for them,” Osamu looked back at his brother and the two first years chatting on the bench enjoying their ice cream despite the cold

“They called me telling me the address sent and the double checked, was a strip club,” Kita remained firm on the matter

“Did they go in?” Osamu could only offer

“Send the right address,” and Kita hung up

Osamu flinched and looked up the address he sent. No it was correct. He hit it in his gps and it basically told him to turn around and he was at his destination. He resent the address and also sent his location just in case.

“What was that?” Yamaguchi asked when Osamu rejoined them

“Uhhh apparently your setter went to the wrong address and ended up at a strip club?” Osamu was still really confused and even more so as the first year rolled their eyes

“Again?”

“Tokyo 2.0”

“I’m sorry what?” Osamu looked at them

“The setter’s camp that was here not too long ago they went on an adventure and well,” Hinata waved his hand tugging his mask back to his face now that his ice cream was done

“Wait,” Osamu slammed his hands on the table, “The same setters from that night?” He turned to Atsumu remembering the photos and videos

“Yeah those ones. Apparently both Karasuno setters kissed Oikawa. They ended up in a tattoo shop by the looks of it from what I saw the next day,” Atsumu smirked remembering how hung over the group was

“Wait we knew about Kageyama but Suga too,” Hinata smirked under his mask

“I got photos,” Atsumu wigged his phone in front of them

————

“Kita sent us a new address it’s ten minutes away,” Suga sighed rubbing his temple

“What if it’s another fake?” Akaashi asked as Kenma pressed it in letting the voice fill the cab

“I will gut the twins and hang them in the rafters,” Suga muttered stealing a sip from Oikawa’s blue drink

“The other twin just added a photo and tagged the captain with a caption that says ‘I told you the truth’ it also has an address and name of an ice cream shop,” Kenma muttered glancing at the gps and frowning , “The gps is not sending us to the same location as where they are at.”

Akaashi’s slammed his brakes as if the light ahead of him gave no sign of turning red. Oikawa struggled to keep the contents from spilling from his cup, throwing a glare at the driver despite the fact he wouldn’t see it.

“Wait… so did Kita give us the wrong address?” Akaashi asked as if he hadn’t almost caused a wreck

“Maybe…” Suga opened up their messages to double check

“Who do I need to yell at the twins or Kita,” Kenma slammed his hand on the dash turning to Suga

“Easy tiger,” Oikawa teased tilting his drink to Kenma who didn’t reject it but also stole a sip

“Umm Kita’s is off by like two numbers,” Suga sighed throwing his phone down

The group glanced at each other. The light flashed green and there was a honk behind them. Akaashi didn’t screech on though but kept looking at the gps.

“Where do we go? Kita’s or the twins’?”

“What if their captain just sucks at texting?” Oikawa tilted his head back swirling the straw in his drink

“I’m sick of this already,” Suga muttered stealing Oikawa’s drink again as his phone buzzed again

A quick glance flashed Kageyama's name again. The kid really needed to relax.

“If we go to the location the twins publicly posted and they aren’t there we can always respond back and openly call them liars or some crap,” Akaashi muttered finally stepping on the gas as the light turned yellow

There were no complaints as the group honestly couldn’t think of anything better. Suga gripped the headrest as Akaashi swung a sharp left. Kenma clicked the new address in and the little voice sent them off.

“This adventure sucks more than the last one. Less fun. Next time I vote for more drinking and dancing. Maybe a trip out of the country,” Oikawa tilted the rest of his drink down his throat.

“We will go visit you when we all graduate,” Suga muttered checking Twitter

“Wait, you have your graduation plans?” Akaashi asked slamming the brakes as a light shifted to red again

“Is that why Iwazumi is mad at you?” Kenma looked back slightly at Oikawa

Oikawa huffed looking out the window keeping his hands curled on the seatbelt that was saving him from Akaashi’s shitty driving.

“He’s going to go play in Argentina,” Suga confirmed ignoring the glare that Oikawa threw at him

The car went silent as Akaashi eased forward now that the light was green. The destination only two minutes away. The air no longer the normal cheery chaotic atmosphere that normally hovered around the setters when they were together.

“Argentina,” Akaashi muttered glancing back at Oikawa turning one more time as the gps warned them they were almost there

“Yeah well,” Oikawa muttered

Kenma glanced up from his gaze on the gps and threw an arm out at Akaashi.

“Akaashi look out!”

Akaashi didn’t really have time to hit the breaks fully as the car screeched under them and there was a loud thud on the hood. The group of setters peered over the hood to see what they hit. Suga was the first one to step out of the car, wincing as he heard a groan from whatever they hit.

“Akaashi, did you just kill someone?” Oikawa muttered from inside the car

“Suga, why are you in the cab that just hit me?” the body in front of the cab grumbled as the sound of rushing feet also grew closer

“Kageyama?”

“Are you fuckin kidding me,” Akaashi mutter hitting his head on the steering wheel

“Kageyama? Suga?” Suga looked up at the people who had rushed over to them

“Hey… we have been looking for you two,” Suga said weakly leaning over Kageyama, “You still hanging in there Kageyama?”

“I feel like I got hit by a car,” Kageyama say up rubbing his shoulder

“Do we need a new getaway car?” Oikawa poked his head out

“Oikawa what are you doing here?”

“Hey,” Oikawa reached forward and grabbed Kenma’s shoulder, “We found Hinata!”

Sure enough joining the fray was none other than Hinata, Yamaguchi, and the Miya twins. Sitting in front of the car glaring at the window of the driver’s side was none other than Kageyama.

“At least you weren’t speeding,” Kenma mutter climbing out as well

“You just tried to murdered a fellow setter. Isn’t that against some code?” Atsumu teased extending an arm for Kageyama

“You're fine. He was going slow enough,” Osamu muttered dusting off Kageyama as he stood

“Why did you run in front of the car anyway,” Akaashi asked finally slumping out of the driver’s seat

“I saw Hinata and Yamaguchi across the street. So I crossed and suddenly you were there,” Kageyama tossed a glare at Atsumu, “Why did you kidnap these two anyway?”

“We didn’t,” Osamu quickly jumped up to his brother’s defense

Before he could continue his phone rang. He flinched at the name and backed off slightly to answer it.

“We got dinner then ice cream,” Hinata sheepishly held out the remainder of his cone to Kageyama who just glared at it

“Yeah we were gunna bring them back. Don’t know why everyone freaked out,” Atsumu said slinging an arm over Yamaguchi’s shoulders

Kenma glared at Atsumu and carefully placed himself between Hinata and Atsumu leaving Yamaguchi to suffer under Atsumu’s weight.

Osmau rejoined the group rubbing the back of his neck slightly looking sheepish, “Sorry apparently our captain doesn’t know how to work a gps. I heard he accidently sent you to a strip club. Suna is making sure Kita actually arrives at the right spot this time. They are right around the corner.”

“Wait so it was your capitan not you?” Oikawa asked with a frown

The twins shrugged and glanced at each other. A car horn sounded reminding them that despite the fact this road was much quieter they were still in the middle of the street. Akaashi flinched and climbed back in to park the car as the others moved out of the way. The group stood awkwardly together on the sidewalk till Akaashi rejoined them.

“So… Ice cream anyone?” Atsumu asked fixing HInata’s hair slightly

He only got glares from the other setters and he only shrugged in response. Hinata chuckled under his mask and gently elbowed Yamaguchi who was also snickering to himself lightly.

“I am really sorry Kageyama,” Akaashi muttered taking Kageyama’s hands and checking them over

“It’s fine,” Kageyama muttered keeping his glare on the Atsumu and Hinata contact

“Well you just got hit by a car I think fine wouldn’t be the perfect word to describe it,” Oikawa moving a hand down one of Kageyama’s sleeves taking off the dirt and rocks from the road

They all perked up as more footsteps joined them. Two others decked in dark jackets came around the corner. The one with almost white hair held a cold stare that made Suga shiver slightly. The sound of sirens could be heard somewhere deeper in Tokyo.

“Kita,” Atsumu muttered and flinched slightly as if already hearing a lecture coming

“Suna too,” Osamu hummed glancing at the approaching pair

Kita simply gave a blank stare at the twins. Atsumu raised his hands slightly, getting nudged from Osamu in the process.

“Explain,” Kita said locking onto Osmau

“Sorry, it’s more our fault,” Yamaguchi jumped in, “We left our phones without a note of where we were going so I guessed our team panicked.”

“Then apparently… the address you gave was incorrect because we followed the same one we gave you and got to the right spot,” Hinata jumped in

Kita’s eyes narrowed slightly at Hinata, “You are supposed to be resting.”

Hinata giggled slightly as Kita reached over and patted his head. Atsumu also giving a small smile knowing how nice it was to get that small bit of Kita affection

The sirens grew oddly close and drew the group's attention as lights suddenly became visible. Akaashi shifted behind Kageyama and Oikawa slightly right as the cars rounded the corner. The group awkwardly stood across the street as the cop cars pulled to a stop by the cab they had exited earlier.

“Hey you lot! Did you see who was driving this cab?” an officer asked as soon as he stepped out

“Yes sir,” Yamaguchi piped, “Tall man mid twenties. Had a tattoo on his neck. He parked and took off down the street.”

Hinata bit his lip under his mask stifling a giggle. He could feel Suga’s look of disbelief lock onto Yamaguchi at the quick lie.

The officer stepped out and asked a few more questions that Yamaguchi was quick to step forward and answer as Akaashi stayed hidden behind the group. Kita and Suna seemed slightly confused by the sudden turn of events and looked to the setters for an answer but the group simply chatted slightly keeping an eye on Yamaguchi waiting for the green light to walk away.

The officer finally told them to go home and they quickly moved to get away from the scene.

“Anyone want to break that down?” Suna finally asked as they all stepped out of ear shot

“I borrowed a cab to make it easier to get around and then accidently hit Kageyama,” Akaashi sighed wincing at the blank look from Kita

“I’m sorry… what,” Suna blinked

“I’m still confused how you all ended up in the strip club,” Osamu muttered rubbing a hand across his face

“I want to know how you have a photo of me and Suga kissing,” Oikawa leaned against Atsumu

“Why do I have a feeling the next time the setters get together the world may actually burn,” Osamu muttered to Hinata and Yamaguchi, “Especially now that they got my idiot brother with em.”

“I mean it can’t be anything worse than what Akaashi just did. He stole a cab. At least this time there was no strip club drunk adventure,” Yamaguchi pointed out

“I just wish they would invite us,” Hinata muttered earning a quick smack in the back of the head from Suga

“It is never on purpose,” Suga snapped earning a small snort from Kenma

“I still don't understand how you always get drug into it,” Hinata opened an arm to bring Kenma in letting his arm settle around his waist as Kenma put an arm over his shoulder

“We were looking for you. Feeling better?” Kenma muttered

Hinata hummed and nodded.

“Look none of this would have happened if you two hadn’t kidnapped my first years,” Suga muttered before letting out a sharp gasp, “I never updated Daichi!”

“He probably thinks you died,” Yamaguchi snorted

“Or ended back in the strip club. Maybe he’s hoping for more videos like last time,” Hinata teased

“Why do I feel like I need to hang around the setters more often,” Suna muttered glancing at the slightly beat up group behind him

“No this was tame for them,” Yamaguchi avoided a swipe from Suga, “Drunk them is fun.”

“I will get us all drunk on a beach next time. Sound like a plan?” Oikawa teased poking Akaashi’s cheek who dropped back a few steps to walk with Kageyama instead

“I’m in,” Suna turned earning a glare from Kita

“Fantastic see you in Argentina!”

—————

When the group reached the hotel they were met in the front by Daichi. The look on his face screamed dad disappointment but more at Suga than the actual missing members.

“I tried but Ukai is inside waiting,” earning a groan from the Karasuno members

Atsumu rubbed the top of Hinata’s head before raising a hand in farewell. Suna doing the same. Osamu sighed watching the pair walk off.

“Sorry for the trouble. Hopefully he will understand it was a misunderstanding,” Osamu nodded slightly, “Maybe just don’t mention the… other stuff,” He muttered glancing at Daichi

Daichi narrowed his eyes and looked over to Oikawa who quickly pointed at Akaashi. Akaashi swatted at Oikawa’s hand looking away from the group.

“There were at least no scandalous photos or adventures this time right?” Daichi sighed rubbing a hand down his face

“Nope just a standard accidental kidnapping,” Yamaguchi rocked on his heels looking up and waving at the group that had now come out onto the balcony

“There is nothing standard about that,” Daichi pinched the bridge of his nose and pointed to the door, “Go let’s get this over with.”

“Oh come on it’s really not that bad,” Oikawa rolled his eyes leaning on Suga

“Yeah you didn’t get hit by a car,” Kageyama grumbled

“I said sorry.”

Daichi blinked and stared at the exchange and looked over at Kita. He could only shrug and shake his head.

“Go in. No more setter hangouts.”

“Yeah Dai that won’t work out you know that,” Suga patted Daichi’s shoulder and walked in waving goodbye to the others

“Look I’m just glad it’s not our fault this time,” Oikawa smirked following him inside

Daichi poked his head in after them, “I saw that photo by the way! So did Iwaizumi!”

“Well shit.”
