Work Text:
The thunders of eternity subsided in Inazuma; and Kazuha found himself lingering in a final location before he would set sail with the Crux Fleet once again.
One hand ruffled the head of the small white cat who was curled on his lap with content.
His eyes trailed to the blank vision that he had set down. Crystalflies - many of them - were dancing on the rocks and fluttering their wings at the lifeless vision.
His mind hummed.
“Crystalflies are attracted to elemental energy.”
When he had been told this, when he was younger, there was no importance in those words.
But now as he stared at them, still dancing and chirping at the lifeless vision.
He had found the importance.
The vision appears lifeless to the unobservant eye: but the vision was exploding with energy. That energy was Tomo’s ambition. And that ambition was like lightning.
In his previous desperate attempts to relight the vision, he had tried to replace that ambition that he was certain had died out.
And that was naive.
As one bolt of lightning strikes through the air, there will always be more.
And that vision, that lightning, that was why it would stay there to be forever untouched.
To stay with the crystalflies that would continue to prove that even after the storm ceases, even after the sun rises back up: the ambition of the lightning will always be there.
Waiting for the next storm.
