Chapter Text
"Whats with those tears in those eyes?"
You glanced up to the adeptus as he placed your head on his lap. Your mind was getting much hazier every second. Xiao removed his mask revealing his fragile, glossy amber eyes.
"I've always knew this day would've come.. I.. I shouldn't have let my guard down. If then, maybe you'd still be.."
You coughed to laughter.
He's right. He has told you many times just because you have a Vision, doesn't mean you can fight and go on your adventure while you're sick. That's when you got into a sticky situation where your mind was getting hazy while fighting a ruin hunter. Not only failed to coordinate your bow properly but slipped and fell further into the ruins. That's when Xiao sensed your danger and teleported right to you.
"Ha ha," you must be crazy laughing while your head was bleeding out on the ruin grounds.
"Why are you laughing, mortal," xiao's word may seem harsh but he was trying holding back his tears.
"Why.. are you, crying, dear yaksha?"
'Now is not the time to jester,' is probably what Xiao would always say whenever you play jokes on him.
"Xiao," you called out.
"It.. hurts.
Please. Stop crying,"
Xiao tried.
"You mortals.."
He trailed off.
"And yet, you are the most interesting one,"
You wish you could've just stayed in the Wangshu Inn this morning. Perhaps then you'd still be laughing together with the adeptus, not one crying.
"Thank you.."
He continues.
"For coming to my life. That's all I could ever wish for,"
You smiled, staring deep into those beautiful eyes before breathing your last breath.
