Rehabilitation center, Brian's point of view

I was writing in my journal that I continue to tell my experience. I was working hard with the medical team who work with me to help me to recover and eat more because the doctors told me that I have lost more than half of my normal weight.

Kristen walk inside Brian's room.

“Kristen! What are you doing here? I thought you already left for Kentucky!” Ask Brian.

"I'm coming to bring you Kevin's tour diaries because he want you to have them", answered Kevin's wife.

Brian take them with a shaking hand and hug them tightly.

"I offer my condolences once again, if there is anything I can do for you and the children", said Brian with a shaking voice.

"Take care of you! My kids can't wait to see their uncle Brian and Kevin would be happy to know that you are alive”, said Kristen.

Brian nods his head positively, holding back his tears.

“Read his diaries because you are gonna understand things”, add Kristen.

Brian take control of himself after a few moments.

"I write something for the funeral because I couldn't be there", add Brian as he pulling out two papers of his book.

Kristen take them gently and put them in her bag.

"Thank you! Kevin would have been happy that you write him something”, said Kristen.

"You are welcome and he was my big brother", whispered Brian with emotions.

"When do think the doctors think you are gonna be okay to go home?" Ask Kristen.

“I don't know, I take my days one at the time”, answered Brian.

"Then we come to see you as often as possible", promises Kristen.

"Okay", said Brian in response.

End of Brian's point of view

Megan enter in the room a few minutes later and she smile tenderly when she see that her patient was sleeping peacefully.

She cover him with the blankets and she turn off the lights.

Megan then gently move her hand through Brian's hair.

The medical team have decide that Brian would have no contact with the outside world other than his family so that he could focus only on his recovery and grieve in peace the death of his big brother.

Megan was afraid at one point that Brian would join Kevin in his death, as her patient completely stop eating and the doctor install an emergency feeding tube in his belly.

Brian wake up several hours later.

"Hi little cat", said Megan softly.

"Hi Meg", whispered Brian as he getting up in his bed.

"How do you feel?" Ask Megan gently.

“Rest and relax”, answered Brian.

"It's good! Are you hungry?” Ask Megan with her soft voice.

“Yes a lot”, answered Brian.

"It's perfect! The more you eat, the more energy you regain”, add Megan as she smile at him.

“I know the doctor told me I need to put on another ten kilograms”, add Brian.

Megan nods her head in understanding.

"I have a question for you before you go to get my meal", said Brian.

"What is your question?" Ask Megan.

"Do you know where the travel bag that was with me in the hospital is?" Answered Brian.

"It's in the small cabinet, we were waiting for you to be ready before giving it to you", explain Megan.

Brian squeeze his older brother's tour diaries even tighter against him.

"If you feel ready I give it to you", said Megan.

"You have no right to do that! This is mine!" Exclaim Brian angrily.

“The medical team made this decision for your own good”, explain Megan gently.

“Like I can't make my own decisions by myself”, add Brian bluntly.

Megan try to calm down her patient.

"You won't have those!" Said Brian.

“I might have something that could help you”, add Megan.

"What? That I talk to a psychologist?” Ask Brian.

“Yes, that would help you grieve your big brother death”, answered Megan.

Brian didn't answer, but he put down his big brother travel diaries close to him.
