[HOT] SKY's SEHUN and Nation's Beloved Actor Kim Junmyeon announced as couple for next season of We Got Married
The sky really is the limit to the possibilities of variety shows. Rumors earlier this year have piqued the interest not only of reality variety show fans but the general public as well. Yesterday, the trailer released for the newest season of We Got Married confirmed the speculations: one of the first three pairs of this season will be a male idol with a male actor.
To recall, We Got Married's concept is to show what married life looks like through inviting various famous personalities and placing pairs of them in a virtual marriage. Missions given to each of the virtual couples test their compatibility in skill and thinking, thus viewers are able to see more of the celebrities' attitude and personalities as they live together— this, together with interviews with the participants to reveal their thoughts and feelings, drive an expectation of making their virtual spouse and the viewers' hearts flutter.
While having the usual three couples at the same time for the show, the youngest pair is still by far gaining the most attention. Top boy band SKY's fans are quick to trend who the band member fitting the youngest pair's description was under the hashtag #SehunOnWGM, together with the now circulating original photo of Sehun from a Dior magazine photoshoot that matches the silhouette used in the show's trailer:

On the other hand, the other half of the pair, actor Kim Junmyeon, had fans expressing their wishes for support as the actor has never taken a project outside acting before. Kim Junmyeon starred in “Starry Night” and “Singing Under the Curtain”. These well-received dramas where he played the lead roles made him gain popularity ever since his acting debut.

Today marks the first shooting day for the virtual marriage almost everybody's been talking about.
There was, as expected, a leak about the location that lead to quite a number of fans gathering around the filming area. The stars' fans were seen carrying either their high-end cameras or mobile phones to capture whatever they could without crossing the boundaries the staff has physically set, which was just enough for the mic to not catch their screams. It was nothing new to the production; with how the show made a lot of noise even before its first airing, they were sure they had to be ready in handling them as the pairing could further be a bigger hit once the show officially starts.

Junmyeon arrived with his manager at the park first, not forgetting to give a quick greeting to the directors, staff, and cameramen before proceeding to take instructions from the writers on site. On normal shooting days, it doesn't surprise him anymore if a make-up artist welcomes him, ready to give a touch up on his face. “We're going for natural,” he hears the director say with emphasis. “You could do that, right?”
It all seemed easy. The show sells the idea that whatever the couple would say or do about their feelings is all real. What probably worries Junmyeon is how the public would react─ if they would take whatever he says or does as real or just an act. The problem that's becoming harder to ignore as he rose to fame was how much people have their eyes on him, watching every move of his no matter how small. With a partner with an even bigger fanbase, Junmyeon can't help but feel more anxious, but at the end of the day, work is work. “Yes, I think so.”
“Sehun's here!”
The idol was brought under the same tent as Junmyeon, and he indeed looked dashing, as if he wore the word handsome itself from head to toe. From what he's read, if there was a luxury brand tied tightly to Sehun's name, it would be Dior.
Junmyeon stood up to bow and greet him, and Sehun quickly bowed deeper with a shy smile, extending his arm for a handshake. “Hello, Junmyeon-nim. Please take care of me.”
Junmyeon suddenly felt older than he actually is.

It was time for the first broadcast to air. The studio was arranged cozily, just like how it used to be in the past. The couches were arranged close enough to each other, allowing the host and the guests to engage in a comfortable conversation─ like a family simply visiting their siblings' in-laws, gathered together in the living room.
It looked like SKY fans were greatly anticipating for the episode as they would not only be watching Sehun but his fellow SKY member Park Chanyeol as well, guesting for his side.
“Kai is currently on a different schedule, so I had to go alone,” Chanyeol explains when asked about their one band member who could not come in as a guest. He looks into the camera to tell his bandmate a message. “Kai-ah, once you're done, you should come to the show.”
MC Park quickly responds, “Do you mean Kai has to come as a guest or should he get married here too?”
Chanyeol immediately shakes his head in defense, letting out an awkward laugh for reasons that do not even need to be disclosed if you know how far obsessed idol fans could go. “Ah, no, no, I meant as a guest.”
“Is it so bad to be in the show?” MC Park pushes, looking at her guests from either sides. “Do you want to get married first?”
Chanyeol still politely responds. “I think we're still young and have a lot to learn. For now, Sehun can learn for us.”
“Ah, yes. You're all young and have much to learn about relationships. Actually, everyone seated here is still in their youth, including myself,” MC Park jokingly says, tucking her hair behind her ear. “How about our two men here, Kim Minseok and Byun Baekhyun, please introduce yourselves to the viewers.”
“Yes, hello I'm Kim Minseok who played as Junmyeon's older brother in Starry Night. Thank you for having me.”
“Ah, didn’t his character die in that drama?”
“Yes, yes I was almost always with Junmyeon during the whole filming since he became a ghost but was living in his illusions and I was his only way to talk to our mother.”
“I remember getting creeps whenever he appeared.” MC Park comments, to which Minseok agrees. “I did, too! When I watched it on TV, Junmyeon was really good that even I would believe his illusions were terrifying.”
“I think the only times the drama was romantic was when you hear Baekhyun singing in the background.” Chanyeol interjects.
“That's actually the reason why Kim Junmyeon wanted to be friends with me.” Says Baekhyun. “The first time he heard it, he said he asked for my number just to tell me he's thankful that I made the ghost more human.”
“I see, it looks like our star actor has deep insights and works very hard on his roles. With that, we're going to see how our youngest couple opens this season. Please watch with us.”

The video starts with Junmyeon sitting still in the studio where individual interviews were filmed, his expression unreadable as he was unsure of what to say first– or perhaps unsure if he should say what's in his mind. “The first thing he told me when we met? He told me… that I was older.”
It cuts to a frame of Sehun rubbing the back of his neck with a smile, before looking back at the staff. “But it's true? I just wanted us to greet each other comfortably, like same-aged friends.”
“He really said I'm older, how is that same-aged?” Junmyeon retorts, probably when the staff told him about Sehun's answer. “Let's hope I forget about it later on.”
The video then changes to a montage of the city park, showcasing the bright, sunny morning with text that read ‘a perfect time for people to go out and meet with people; family, friends, and perhaps your lover?’
The camera pans to a young man walking around leisurely, his side profile enough to make the people watch in awe as if you're the protagonist of a drama finally meeting your male lead. He even turns in slow motion, with a famous soundtrack playing in the background which was originally sung by Chanyeol himself, Stay With Me.
“Am I too early?” It was revealed to be the famous young actor, Kim Junmyeon, as he wandered around the park, choosing a good spot to wait for someone.
[Staff: No, you're on time. How are you feeling?]
Junmyeon halts and hums in thought. “I have read about him before coming. I'm a little nervous, but he seems like a really cool guy.”
[Staff: Wouldn't meeting like this in a park break the cool guy image for him?]
“I don't think the park can change his cool image. Dramas usually use parks as a special place, where you meet, where you confess, where you say goodbye...”
[Staff: How do you think he would confess his love here?]
Junmyeon shifts his gaze somewhere else as he smiles widely. “If he does that to me today, I wouldn't know how to react. I've never experienced being filmed during a confession and have to keep an image...”
[Staff: Have you prepared something for him as well?]
“I'm actually not confident about preparing something for him myself...”
The clip slows and is cut again, leaving everyone hanging about his answer. It goes back to the video of the individual interview taken after the shoot.
“I honestly did not know. What should I give? I did not bring anything other than myself.” Junmyeon explains while quirky edits showed up on screen. A ribbon on his head, and a card labeled ‘I am the gift’.
“It wasn't until the staff asked me what I had prepared that I realized, ‘oh, it's necessary?’ And it was too late. I'm sorry, Sehun-ah.”
The video shows the clip from the park once again, and Junmyeon was already seated by the swings. He's holding the phone provided by the staff for him to use during the whole duration of the virtual marriage.
“I'm texting him.”
[Staff: What did you say?]
“I told him I'm waiting by the swings.” Junmyeon looks around, trying to count the pathways Sehun could possibly take. “He hasn't responded yet so I do not know the direction he'll come from.”
[Staff: You haven't prepared anything, have you thought of improvising a performance?]
“I'm thinking of what to do for him, it's not like I did not want to get him anything for our first meeting. I wanted to give him something he could use, but it would be a waste if I gave him something he already has or something he wouldn't like because I didn't know about it.”

“We were at the same event back then, when he was looking for tissues at the counter, I handed some to him myself and he thanked me.” The footage plays and the studio coos at a smiling Sehun, edited with cheeks blushing pink, flowers blooming around the screen. “That was the first time we met, I believe.”
The screen shows Junmyeon this time, given the chance to explain himself in his separate interview. “It was last year, so I think I could not remember it clearly.” He chuckles. “Anyway, it's not officially meeting each other if we don't introduce ourselves, right?”
The interviewer asks Sehun how he feels now that Junmyeon doesn't consider the tissue incident as their first meeting as they haven't been formally introduced then. “I thought, ‘Ah, I must have paid more attention to him than he did with me back then.’”
The audience laughs, MC Park agreeing to Junmyeon's statement. “Junmyeon actually makes sense here. Young people these days shouldn't think meeting each other is as easy as handing tissues over to someone else.”
Chanyeol agrees, still laughing at his bandmate's situation. “I told him he should just let it go, but he couldn't forget that time and kept telling me, 'Ah, we've already met before.' even if the story went like that.”
“Sehun must have been really excited to share this to everybody.” MC Park noted.
“Yes. He was, very much.” Chanyeol confirms, adding even more details to the night the story was first told to them. “He took us out for a meal after practice which he doesn't usually do just to tell us he already knows who he's going to be with. But then he told us the story of that meeting, and even refused to accept us saying that it wasn't what a first meeting should be like.”
“I think it's nice that he told you and Kai this story,” Minseok says. “When Junmyeon found out, he just texted me, ‘Oh, it's gonna be an idol from SKY.’ and I asked him ‘Do you know which one?’ and all he said was, ‘I think they told me it was member S.’”
“Member S, we humbly apologize for your husband not knowing you.” Baekhyun says to the camera, bowing as he says the message. “We promise to teach him better.”
The whole studio could only keep laughing, before they continued to watch.
“My thoughts about today? I really think that this was a lot better as a first meeting,” Flowers bloom once again at the appearance of Sehun's words on screen. It's the end of their part in the first episode, and they were asked their overall thoughts about their meeting at the park. “I liked it even more when he sang for me.”
The editors must have had fun editing blushing cheeks onto the idol; it suited him and his words of gratefulness. “I didn't expect him to sing, actually. It was new to me, but it was a good kind of new.”
The staff jokes about how he almost fell on the swings after the song, to which Sehun's eyes widened. “Please just cut that part out, editor-nim,” he pleads. “I wanted to give a standing ovation but my legs were too long.”
And of course, that bit was shown– the swings were too close to the ground for Sehun whose long limbs have always been suited for modelling and not for a child's playground. After the song, he struggled to stand for a moment that luckily his fiancee didn't see, only that it was caught on camera. He decided to remain seated, as he clapped his hands and praised Junmyeon's voice.
The clip goes back to Sehun in the studio who's now embarrassed of himself. “I tried to stand but almost lost my balance sitting down, okay? At least I didn't fall.”
It quickly changes to Junmyeon laughing after being shown the video of Sehun struggling on the swing seat. “I didn't notice this, I was probably looking somewhere else... But he stood perfectly fine when we finished talking, so seeing this now, it does look a bit funny.”
He was then asked what he thinks about Sehun's gift for him. “Oh, it's always with me, actually. He chose something I would have to use a lot, I guess I would always remember him that way. Very smart of him.”
When finally told about his virtual fiancee's confession about his gift, Junmyeon smiled shyly at the camera, with the same pink flowers gracing the screen. “Then I hope I get to sing to him more as we go.”
When the part ended, the guests and even MC Park had satisfied looks on their faces, though no one knows what each half of the pair's friends have in mind to tease them about after this. “That was really sweet, right? It's always interesting to see how couples on the show start out, I have to admit. We'll look back to these memories after a few weeks and see how much they've grown as a couple, and our guests today will surely be back to watch with us.”
The guests only nod, to which MC Park continues speaking. “That's it for Sehun and Junmyeon's first meeting, we'll come back and move on to the next couple after a short break.”

Sehun closed the Twitter app, trying to shift his attention to anything else but the hateful words aimed at his virtual fiancee. He knows that dwelling on the negative comments doesn't help–there would always be people who wouldn't like whatever it is that you do–and that he should focus on the ones that appreciate him. But that was Twitter, and after being around with a private account to stalk himself on a daily basis, he's learned how the coin will always have two sides: there will be fans clearly supportive of his work, and there'll be anti-fans nitpicking every little thing that they could argue about.
At this point, he's used to strangers trying all they could just to bring him or the group he's in down, and so Sehun worries even more about Junmyeon who's probably had a more peaceful life playing his roles in dramas and not entangled in a show like We Got Married with one of the most followed member of an idol-band.
“What's wrong with his song?” Sehun lifts his phone closer to his face, the screen showing two more divisions: one with Jongin and one with Chanyeol. He had his famous look on– his thick brows meeting into a frown. “They're making a big deal out of it. It hasn't even been 24 hours since it aired yet.”
“There's nothing wrong with the song,” Chanyeol responds immediately, focused on what seemed like his studio's pc set-up. “You shouldn't worry about it. Did you just read comments somewhere?”
“Twitter.”
“Makes sense.” Jongin says with a silly smile on his face. “Fans and even non-fans on Twitter are on another level sometimes, man. Don't mind the bad ones you see.”
“Yeah, scroll past them. Or better yet, close your account soon, Iridescent might find you yet again.” Chanyeol jokes. “That person's been on your tail for so long, it's scary.”
“That one's even got into the fashion show last year just to take pictures of you, didn't they?”
“Yeah, yeah, but that wasn't the reason I called. It's Junmyeonie.”
The other two paused for a moment, before the both of them had their lips break into knowing smiles. “Ohh, Junmyeonie. You're worried about him because you've got crazy fans.”
“You speak as if you don't have your share of those.” Jongin laughs even more, before his phone falls and the front camera showed his ceiling. “Hold on, my coffee spilled, I have to clean up... bye.”
They don't even get to say goodbye and Jongin has already left the video chat.
“He's lucky he's got enough tools to clean his house. He's clumsier in real life than on stage.”
“Right, and you worry more than you look like you do.” Chanyeol says as he swivels the chair he's seated on in his studio. “Try to refrain yourself from surfing the internet, it almost does you bad as much as it does you good.”
Sehun only nods, his hand now on his chin, a gesture he usually does when he's concentrating on thinking.
“Or now that you've seen some things and they're getting to you, maybe try calling Junmyeon and check on him or something?”
They stare at each other on the screen, Chanyeol raising a brow at him before Sehun simply said, “I don't have his number yet.”

@AMYisBOAHEY if you're talking about the meal, notice how even if they don't talk a lot they still look comfortable eating together and laughing at each other. they even talked more when they were walking around and when they were looking for the restaurant. if you think this date was awkward then it's a you problem.

@KAISERDOLL not yet, but probably soon since the couples need to date first and then they will be asked to move in together (there will be a furnished house for them and they might decorate it themselves) when nothing coincides with the filming they get to prepare for the wedding and a vacation somewhere for it or right after if they're lucky enough.

“You sounded really great.” Sehun couldn't keep from mentioning how Junmyeon could sing so well. It wasn't just because he wanted the antis to stop talking badly about Junmyeon singing. He's heard a lot of people sing before, as idols do listen to other idols and have favourite artists themselves, but it was the second time someone sang their feelings to him– that is, if Junmyeon meant the lyrics himself. “You should sing again next time. Or just sing to me every time we meet.”
“Why would you want me to sing all the time,” Junmyeon smiled as he asked. “They would get tired of hearing me sing throughout our marriage like I was in a musical.”
“I don't know, I think it will be fun.” Sehun points the camera at Junmyeon, who doesn't dare to look back at it after unsuccessfully stopping the man from filming him all the while they were together. “I've never been to a musical.”
“I'll be in one soon.” Junmyeon casually shares before they continued walking, the camera catching him frowning at the mission card with the map for their next destination. “Why do we need to go to a pizzeria when we could just eat a healthy meal somewhere nearer?”
“The mission is just giving you a rare chance to act my age and be less aware of what you eat.” Sehun says before turning his camera off and encircling his arm around Junmyeon's.
“Why are you like this…”
The cameraman with them catches the face Junmyeon makes and the big laugh Sehun lets out before dragging his virtual fiancee to where they were headed to. “I think it's around here…”
The camera then shows an aerial view of the place drawn in the map, showing how they were still three blocks away from the pizza parlor.
The studio is once again chuckling at the challenge for the couple and the dash of mischief the younger one is showing.

It was as if the show had a lot in store for them, and everybody could only wonder what would happen next once the poll results are out. It's not like he just wanted to win the first place so bad (he does), he just thought it would be nice to get the best house. Who wouldn't want the best house anyway? So this was the reason why Junmyeon suddenly had the urge to re-watch their so-called date and convince himself it was alright.

Funny how they found the boring parts the best SKSKSKKS I think they liked the times they were just walking and not doing the actual mission because they got to talk to each other which is really sweet because that's how you actually "get to know" each other.

Sure, it's a silly thing to make it look like two celebrities are going to like each other somehow, somewhere in the middle of filming, but that's just how it's always been through all the seasons of We Got Married. Perhaps what Junmyeon was actually surprised about was that it almost didn't feel like he was working, but just taking a day off and shooting whatever he's doing– with a new friend. Said new friend even asked to exchange numbers once their shoot together was done. You know, just in case. And who was he to decline?
He just didn't think Sehun would be texting him this soon, right after seeing how whipped they looked like for each other on-screen.

Thing is, despite the countless rumors about it ever since the start of We Got Married, the interviews truly aren't scripted. The artists get to answer the questions prepared by staff on the spot, only that the responses given are not entirely shown on television, but only the best parts that would build the illusion of a budding romance between the pairs. And as he feared right from the start of this show, Junmyeon will be doubted if he was being sincere. Did he overdo anything and looked like he was acting out of a script? Or perhaps did he lack enthusiasm and looked like he didn't try enough for the show?
