It was the perfect prize – she’d evaluated the possibilities at each booth, and the cute, floppy teddy bear won out in the end.
Now it was just a matter of Troy actually winning it.
“Troy, don’t feel like you have to. I don’t–”
“Oh, I’m winning it, alright.”
Eight attempts in, he finally knocked down all six bottles, and Gabriella threw her arms around him. “Thank you! I love it!” She pulled away and hugged the bear close before burying herself in Troy’s arms again.
Seeing that smile on her face was more than worth the forty bucks he’d wasted.
